However, the physicians have drafted a battery of tests that can identify the potential patients of bipolar disorder. The basic tests used by the professionals are as follows:

what's up with my mind?

What is wrong with me? I'm STILL not happy yet I've achieved all I thought I never would. I have a wonderful fiance, a lovely home, a new job and just passed my driving test. I used to be very ill with bulimia and thought I'd never have these things, they were a dream for me.

Especially driving. I passed this week on my 4th go with 3 minors. It's great to be driving about but I've suddenly got this hole - i guess maybe I liked the support I had from ADI, friends etc now that is gone. All my life I've needed reasurrance that I am good enough. My mum had manic depression until I was 5 and apparently that hasn't helped but she's fine now, like it never happened.

These days I come across as confident and bubbly but inside I still feel like the little girl I used to be. I strive to achieve but once I've got it I don't want it anymore it's the same with jobs. I work my way up then leave when I've got what i worked so hard for -like i'm testing myself i can do it. i don't like it.

I know how it feels. I myself feel like this sometimes. Have this sense that I am under achieving, then look around at how people I know are doing and it doesnt seem so bad. I have been through a lot of jobs. Never seem to have a problem getting them but get bored afetr a while and feel it isnt good enough. I think sometimes we should not dwell on what we dont have but appreciate what we do have. Sounds like a cliche but if you look at other people who are worse off than you it does make you appreciate what you DO have. I beleive everyone has bad days when we have low self esteem. Sometimes its possible to analys things too much, probably because your not stimulating your brain enough. I find reading helps and problem solving and excersise. Try and take your mind off your own problems by helping other people with theirs, it gives you a good sense of well being.
