Somagirls.tv: Clean & Pretty Because Girls Never Get Dirty!

For every guy zine that does well, a new chick rag is born endorsing their site as a re-instilling of self-esteem and positive girl images -- while selling cosmetics and skin care at the same time. Soma Management LLC. is a digital media and entertainment company that has just given the world Somagirls.tv which focuses on (not so) original lifestyle content for young girls and women.

It has a fresh and clean look versus the loud obnoxious glitter and brat look that I’ve seen way too often. Not all girls are into loud, obnoxious and gaudy, so my first impression was that it deserved a thorough look see and read through; until you click into the Model Dairies. Thankfully the categories are filled with pod casts because you know us girls just ca ant ummm cant read none well.

Model Diary’s video cast shows the same stereotypical very thin women at a modeling shoot and shows just how easy being a model is.

  • Stand there
  • Lie there
  • Turn your head

  • Don’t smile

The pod casts than moves into a model that talks about her photo shoot in Hawaii and just how much fun it was as she strips off her bikini top. In my best little girl voice “Opps it fell, silly me.”

Health Tips
shows a group of thin model like young women doing yoga on a beach with the beautiful ocean waves behind. Sadly, this was the best thing about the website. Nowhere did I find the pretty girl size 18 nor did I find the geeky girl blog who lists her height as 5’4 with interests that doesn’t include yoga, working out or makeovers.

Where are the

Lose Weight - Keep a Food Diary as a Record for Your Weight Loss

When you first start out on your journey to lose weight one of the smartest things you can do is to keep a food diary. This is simply a notebook where you can record what you eat during the day. There are a number of things you can track in this food diary or you can keep it simple. Either way it can be a great way to encourage and motivate you to stick to a healthy eating weight loss plan.

There are a number of pieces of information you can record in your food diary. First, consider just listing your daily foods. As well as what you eat at main meals don't forget to include snacks and drinks. It is no good 'cheating' when you do this and 'forgetting' to write down those 3 chocolate biscuits that you had with your cappuccino. You must be totally honest with yourself. Remember nobody else has to see this only you. This will help you actually see what you eat on any given day and notice patterns of unhealthy eating that you never considered before.

Some people like to keep a record of calories, protein, fat, fiber and other nutrients as well as portion sizes. You could make a note of when you eat and why. Maybe you had a particular craving, were feeling depressed about something or any other emotions and feelings about your diet on any given day. Do what's right for you - it's your diary.

Other people also like to keep a record of exercise they have done during the week. Write down things like when you got off the bus a stop earlier or parked at the far end of the car park when shopping. Maybe you've been for a walk a few times a week of gone to the gym. In fact, anything that shows an activity you have done during the week.

When you start a food diary it doesn't need to be anything fancy or you don't need to go out and buy a particular type of diary. Some people just use a simple notepad, maybe you like to record things on a computer in either a word document or excel or any other data entry program which helps when it comes to adding totals at the end of the day. You should use something that feels right for you.

Get into the habit of recording in your food diary every day and review it at the end of the week in order to track your progress. You might wish to make a note of when you hit any weight loss goals or when you gain weight in order to look for causes. Your food diary is something you can show to your health professional in order to make sure you are staying healthy as well and getting all the correct nutrients needed.

Why not start a food diary today and keep a record of the weight you lose?

The greatest mistake you can make in life is to be continually fearing you will make one. By Elbert Hubbard The Note Book1927 Find out about Depression Disability Insurance

Long Term Disability Insurance: Be Heard

The stress associated with the modern life can manifest itself in various ways. One of the biggest causality of the modern day stress is the mental and physical well being of the individual which can lead to disability. Taking out a long term disability insurance is a good idea to safeguard oneself but it is equally important to know the exact details of the contract to save hassles in the future.

Disability is generally classified into two types viz short term disability and long term disability. The short term disability generally entails a condition with an uncertain prognosis or an undefined date for return to work. The long term disability, on the other hand, is more serious in nature and can have an impact on an individual's earning capacity.

Depression or any other psychiatric disorder which hampers the working ability of an individual is a long term disability and is covered under the long term disability insurance. However, problems arise when the insurance company refuses to give due credit to the contract and refuses to pay the claim on various grounds.

One of the biggest reasons for contention is the insurance company's claim that all the details were not disclosed during the time of entering into contract. The insurance company may also claim that a particular disease does not quantify under the stipulated contract. These intricacies can be very complicated and require the acumen of a trained lawyer.

A disability insurance litigation basically involves taking the fight back to the insurance company and proving the merits of the case. It is important to substantiate the medical condition with proper certificates from a medical practitioner. Also, there is a need to understand the exclusion clause properly and prove the ingenuity of the case.

A disability insurance claim lawyer is adept to understand the fine prints of the insurance policy and take the case forward. The disability litigation lawyer is trained to understand the language of the insurance companies and place the ball in their court. All the aspects of the litigation like documentation form the physician is covered by the lawyer.

A litigation lawyer can provide some very useful insights into long term disability insurance case. The law firms also provide an option to charge the money only after the litigation has been concluded. The lawyers may also emphasize on reaching an out of court settlement and get the due claim for the disabled person.

David Share Associates provides long term disability insurance advice. The website .sharedisability.com provides complete information about the company.

I believe I would qualify for Social Security disability benefits but, if I understand correctly,?

according to the SSA.gov site, I would be turned down because I didn't apply for benefits within the specified amount of time. In a nutshell, I am unable to work due to anxiety and depression. The condition became apparent in 2000, but luckily my husband's income allowed me to no longer work. Now, however, I'm divorced (his decision) and he'll only be paying my medical insurance premiums until April 1, 2008. I don't get enough alimony to be able to afford individual medical insurance through MHIP (Missouri Health Ins. Pool) because of my pre-existing conditions. So I guess my question is that because I didn't "take advantage" of the government when I first could have, is it true that it's too late for me to try to qualify for SSD benefits? FYI - I did work full-time from 1982-2000. Thanks, in advance.

See a lawyer who practices in this area, as their initial consultations are free and their fees will usually be taken from any award of "back payments" owed to you by social security. They'll know these answers right away.

I don't know about the SS Disability payments, but my understanding is that you can apply for "supplemental security income" or SSI just about any time, even if you don't have a good work record, as SSD looks backward to your work history (and gives you more money) but SSI can look forward just to your disability...

Once again, there are TONS of SS lawyers out there; most of them will take your case with little or no cost to you. Go find one nearby in your community...
(Oh, and you'll want to ask how many of these cases they take, how many they have ongoing right now (because a lot of these people do these in bulk and then lose client contact) and their success rates. Quality REALLY varies among these practitioners.)

Paxil’s Usefulness on Getting Rid of Depression

Paroxetine hydrochloride or Paxil is a psychotropic drug. It is used to treat depression, social anxiety disorder, generalised anxiety disorder, panic disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder and post traumatic stress disorder. Depression is one such disease which is caused by chemical imbalance in the brain. If this imbalance goes on for a long duration it may result in major health concern at a later stage.

Paxil anti-depressant is available in the forms of tablets and suspension for oral administration. Each film coated Paxil tablet contains paroxetine hydrochloride and inactive ingredients such as dibasic calcium phosphate dehydrate, magnesium stearate, polyethylene glycols and sodium starch glycolate etc. In its suspension form the active agent remains the same while inactive reagents differ. It is an anti-depression drug manufactured and marketed by GlaxoSmithKline.

Patients with a history of suicidal thought and behaviour should not be given the dosage of this medication. Young adults of 18-24 years of age shows more suicidal tendency in comparison to other adults hence the dosage of Paxil should be given to such individuals with proper care. side effects associated with Paxil are somnolence, insomnia, agitation, tremor, anxiety, dizziness, constipation, nausea, diarrhoea, dry mouth, vomiting, flatulence, asthenia, abnormal ejaculation, sweating etc.

Paxil from GlaxoSmithKline is a prescription drug hence a prescription from a doctor is must to start its dosage. Though this drug gives suicidal tendency to a user of this drug, a doctor prescribes this drug considering its benefits on getting a patient out of depression. If one has problem in getting out of home to consult a doctor he or she can also apply for online prescription for Paxil through various online websites. One needs to provide personal information through such facilities and that way can avail the online prescription. But a patient is to give only the true information on his or her health on such websites as the correctness of the information would ultimately decide whether a patient should be taking Paxil or not.

After availing online prescription one should go for buying the drug. This anti-depressant can be bought from a local drug store or an online store. Buying Paxil from an online store means easy availability of the drug with various discounts. But buying it online also means susceptibility to malicious websites that sell spurious drugs or are unethical online stores duping patients.

In such scenario collecting information from various online reviews can be of help. Through these reviews one can see whether one should go for the drug or not. A patient also finds much information on the customer handling of the respective website through these online forums or reviews.

Buy Paxil with a prescription with a consultation with a doctor. It may be the ultimate answer in your hunt for getting the right anti-depression drug.

Wondering if my symptoms are depression or worse.?

I have posted a better description of my condition on the forums in my reference below but here it is in a nutshell:

I just can't get motivated much of the time. Basic tasks go undone. I find other things to do (or just do nothing).

This goes into all aspects of my life from basic things like cleaning up te apartment to major things that could actually be very beneficial to my financial situation.

There is also a physical symptom that worries me and may tie into the whole picture. I hear a constant hissing sound. Sometimes it is almost imperceptable and at other times it is quite loud. Kind of like tinnitus (spelling?) but not a ringing just a hiss.

Any ideas, or has anyone else had this type of experience?

Reference: http://howto.netmorale.com/viewtopic.php?t=28

It could be depression. I just started getting treatment for depresseion about a month ago. I noticed that I wasn't able to get motivated to do those same basic things, avoiding things, forgetting things, lack of sleep or sleeping all day...I haven't had the hissing sound, which I'm sure is pretty annoying sometimes. Go to your doctor and talk to them about how you are feeling. They may prescribe drugs at that time or they may refer you to a psychiatrist before or just start you out on something until you can get into to see one. I had a hard time telling anyone about it, because I felt like a crazy person and even my friends might laugh at me. Since I talked to my doctor on started some meds, I feel a lot better and I am motivated from the moment I wake up. Good luck!

Major Depression Forums Quotes:

Discover 3 Successful Depression Treating Strategies

Don't ask your doctor as he may not know much about depression treating strategies. The majority of primary care providers will prescribe anti-depressant medications as the first and only option. While anti-depressant medications are a perfectly valid and sometimes helpful method of treating depression, I would not exactly call them successful as a study three years ago showed that only about 50% of patients could actually get rid of their symptoms with this type of medication. That is not a high success rate.

Before we list the three successful depression treating strategies, we need to understand the complexity of the problem. Most anti depressant medications work by increasing levels of serotonin which is an important brain chemical in determining our mood but it also plays a very important role in our appetite. But there are other causes and mechanisms at work which complicate the picture, such as a deficit in nutrition, a problem with our immune system, a high level of stress hormones. There can also be genetic and environmental factors at work too, not forgetting the psychological and social factors such as exercise, diet and social contacts.

The first depression treating strategy is to look at the lifestyle of the depressed patient. There is now a ton of evidence to show that persons with a range of social contacts are less likely to fall into depression. Regular exercise has been shown over and over again to be beneficial because it produces endorphins which are also known as the 'happy chemicals'. One study even shows that a sweat breaking activity can be as effective as any anti-depressant if done regularly.

Talk yourself through depression. That is the second of the successful ways of treating depression that I can recommend. Talking could involve counselling and or psychotherapy. But, on a more modest scale, it could involve getting involved in a support group or joining the online forums where you can meet people and talk the whole experience through. It is also important in making social contacts, even if they are only online. The great advantage is that by talking about depression and learning coping skills, we are much less likely to have a relapse which is a big problem for many patients on depression medicines.

The third depression treating strategy is to look at alternatives to lift our mood. While relaxation, meditation, yoga and special breathing exercises will all help, we will need something else to boost our mood and to help us restore some of the balance in our brains which seems to be a bit skewed. One of the best treatments I know is a homeopathic or a herbal one. There are now studies to show that some herbs (St. John's Wort, passion flower and gingko biloba) have much fewer side effects and will be just as effective in restoring serenity to a troubled mind.

can u ever get better from fibromyalgia or improve a great deal?

i am having a major panic attack right now. Have had this for 9 years and currently in severe depression at how i have no life AT ALL and people on forums all saying you have this for life and end up disabled. I cant deal with the thought of that as my future and doesnt really help with the depression

I dont know what to do but i cant live knowing thats my future - has anyone had this/improved/ANYTHING OF SOME HOPE??
As for having it only some months i have had it 9 years!

And though you say it wont lead to disability on the daily strength forum i am constantly speaking to fibromyalgia sufferers who are disabled and unable to work as a result. I am so scared i am only 26

The metformin approac- im actually on this for PCOS and havent noticed it helping but thanks for the suggestion and i used to be on amitriptyline but that just made me feel even more exhausted

I have improved alot since my diagnosis. There are so many things we can do to improve our health and lives. Dont listen to all those people who tell you that you will be disabled. You can have a very good life despite this diagnosis.

These are the things I have found that helped me to improve my life:
Dietary changes:
Eat a diet as close to natural as possible. That means you eat lots of fresh fruits and veggies, whole grains, lean meats and low fat dairy .Avoid foods with added sugar, artifical sweetners (especially those in the aspartame -nutrasweet family ) . Avoid caffiene in all forms. Give up drinking carbonated beverages. Drink water, its good for your body.
Basically its a very healthy way of eating. Once you get all the over processed foods out of your life the better off you will be.

You should also try taking vitamins and supplements . People who have fibromyalgia tend to have probelms with processing nutrients . Take a multiple vitamin, vitamin c for your immune system, take a magnesium/calcium/zinc blend. The magnesium is for muscle cramps , it needs the calcium to process correctly and zinc is for the immune system.

Your doctor will prescribe a sleep medication , and something for pain. What you should know is pain meds will not get rid of all your pain, they simply will take the edge off your pain . Many of the other things I have mentioned will help reduce your pain down to a level you can live with.

I stumbled across DRibose, and it has made my life so much better. It has allowed me to cut my pain medication back by half. Read up on it, and dont be afraid to try it. I have information about it on my yahoo 360 blog.

I have found that working in warm water has helped my pain .The water is the only place I dont hurt all the time. Walking is good too. Just start out slowly, building slowly.

Now this final thing is something you need to hear. Please listen to me. You are young and I want you to have the benefit of what I wish I had known at your age. Once you really understand this one thing your life will change for the better:

You need to change the way you think. Stop dwelling on the negative, keep your life and thoughts positive. You see fibromyalgia is a very complicated thing. It all starts in our brains. Our brains control so much and we dont realize how much our thoughts can be involved in how our bodies feel. Im not sayings its psycological, Im saying its a chain of chemical reactions that originates in the brain. When we have negative thoughts , our brains send out a wave of chemicals that prepares our bodies for the "fight or flight" cycle. If you allow your thoughts to be mired in negative thoughts( You know the ones...about being disabled, about all the bad things in life) you are causing your own pain. I know its easy to get stuck in a cycle of negative thoughts, especially if you are surrounded by people who are stuck in their own negative thoughts. BUT you cant afford to live your life that way. Its just causing you more pain. Its those chemicals that are being secreted in your brian that are causing you to have more pain. You CAN break this cycle.
When you catch yourself having those negative thoughts, deliberately stop yourself and substitue GOOD thoughts. Things that make you happy. Eventually you will change the way you think and your health and life WILL improve.

I know that sounds deceptively simple , but it really does work. Please stop surrounding yourself with negative thoughts , you really can be better. You just have to decide you want better health and a better life. All these things will take time to do, choose one and work at it. It took me several years to learn all these things. I hope you will find things from my post to help you.

One final thing. This next year there will be a new medication coming out on the market that will be a huge boom for those of us with fibromyalgia. It treats both depression and insomnia, without all those sexual side effects and the morning after fatigue we are now dealing with from our meds. I suspect the medictaion will change all of our lives. It will be called Agomelatine.

Depression - Herbal Tonics for Depression

The word depressed is a common everyday word. People might say "I'm depressed" when in fact they mean "I'm fed up because I've had a row, or failed an exam, or lost my job" etc. These ups and downs of life are common and normal. Most people recover quite quickly.

With true depression, you have a low mood and other symptoms each day for at least two weeks. Symptoms can also become severe enough to interfere with day-to-day activities.

People with a depressive illness cannot merely "pull themselves together" and get better. Without treatment, symptoms can last for weeks, months, or years. Appropriate treatment, however, can help most people who suffer from depression.

Types of Depression

Depressive disorders come in different forms. Three of the most common are Major Depression, Dysthymia, and Bipolar Disorder. Even within these types of depression there are variations in the number of symptoms, their severity, and persistence.

Major depression is manifested by a combination of symptoms (see symptom list below) that interfere with the ability to work, study, sleep, eat, and enjoy once pleasurable activities. Some people have a single episode of depression, but many have episodes that recur.

Dysthymia is a less severe type of depression that lasts a long time but involves less severe symptoms. If you suffer from dysthymia you probalby lead a normal life, but you may not be functioning well or feeling good. People with dysthymia may also experience major depressive episodes at some time in their lives.

Bipolar Disorder (also called manic-depression) is another type of depressive disorder. Bipolar disorder is thought to be less common than other depressive disorders. If you have bipolar disorder you are troubled by cycling mood swings - usually severe highs (mania) and lows (depression). The mood swings are sometimes dramatic and rapid, but usually are more gradual. When in the depressed stage, a person can have any or all of the symptoms of a depressive disorder.

Herbal Tonics

A combination of herbs is usually more effective and preferred for treatment of depression. The tonics are prepared with special consideration to neutralizing the side effects caused by one and with consideration to the specific situation of the individual who is taking it. Since the herbs may interact with prescription medicines, make sure you check with your doctor before starting on any herb if you are currently taking any prescription medications.

Ingredients: Vitex, black cohosh, wild yam root, licorice, sarsaparilla, false unicorn root, red raspberry leaf, dong quai, motherwort, royal jelly, squaw vine, maca, suma, oatstraw, fo-ti, cooked rehmannia, siberian ginseng, damiana, ligusticum wallichi, muirapuama, fructus lycii.

Kava Blend: Mix equal parts of kava, lemon balm, valerian root and St. John's wort. Pour 1 cup of boiling water over 1 tsp. of herb mix. Drink 1 cup three times daily, one hour after meals.

Chinese Herbs: Bupleurum and dong quai make up a Chinese herbal formula that helps reduce anxiety, irritability, and depression. Take 1,000 milligrams of a bupleurum and dong quai combination formula two or three times daily for two weeks out of every month (if you are a woman, take it for the two weeks prior to the anticipated onset of your menstrual period).

Gentian Root Tea: Steep 1/2 ounce each of finely chopped poplar bark and gentian root in two pints of water for fifteen minutes. Boil and add 1/2ounce each of agrimony and centaury. Simmer for ten minutes, cool, and strain. You can add honey for sweetener if you desire. Take three or four tablespoons before meals.

How do you get rid of acne?

I have had a bad acne out break for a couple of years. Was recently diagnosed with pcos, They said birth control was the best way to rid my self of the acne. But due to the fact I hit major depression when taking it, I won't take it. I need to know if there is some other way to do it. I have tried every onver the counter method I could find. I am ordering proactive right now but want to know if there are some at home ways you have that I could try. Thank you.
Yeah I googled home remedies and looked it up, But didn't really find anything I thought would help me that I haven't tried. Especially with the pcos. Figured THEY (the ones with condition) would have some good ways to help.

ProActiv never worked for me. I tried it for about 5 or 6 months and all it seemed to do was dry my skin out badly. Of course everyone has different results. I just started using this stuff called Clear Pores back in October. My skins not super clear but I dont break out as bad as I used to and it usually takes a little while for things to start kicking in. If ProActiv donest work, I suggest Clear Pores. They even offer a 6 month guarantee. It's kinda expensive, but I figure I've already spent a lot on other things by other companies, might as well.

Best of luck!

Four Tips for Mind De-stressing

The Mind is a wonderful tool for observation, conceptualization, processing information and in short - thinking. However, when the tool becomes the Master, stress is inevitable.

Like a computer, your Mind holds lots of data. It also has a program to organize that data. Each mind programs the input it receives through unique perceptions and interpretations developed in early childhood. This childhood template is your mind's operating system until you choose to change it.

De-stressing involves becoming aware of and updating these childhood beliefs.

Two core sets of beliefs - Who you think you are (self-concept) and Who you think you 'should' be (self-ideal) evolve from what we hear, see and experience as children. You do not knowingly choose these self-images, which become the foundation for Self-Esteem, your value for yourself and Self-Determination, your percieved power to make free choices. Failing to achieve this unrealistic self-ideal is inevitable and believing you have limited power to choose freely, creates DISTRESS.

Fight and Flight are our primitive responses to stress.

Is your tendency to run, hide, and internalize stress in isolation, passivity or depression; or, to lash out, attack and externalize stress in aggression, domination, or anxiety? Either way, the core issues and solutions are the same.

The tips that follow are simple, logical and doable. Implementation may be challenging though. There are suggested resources, to support you in using these tips at the end of this article.

Tip # 1 ~ Sort

The key to mental de-stressing is to recognize the areas of life in which you do or do not have control. Grab a piece of paper and pencil to take some notes. Take note of the thoughts that arise as I explain this simple sorting technique. These notes will be important when we get to Tip # 3. You have NO control of anything outside yourself. You have TOTAL control of everything inside yourself. This does not seem earth shattering until you look at daily reactions.

If you are like most people, you blame everything outside of you for your stress, and direct most of your precious time and energy into fruitless efforts to control the uncontrollable. A short list of uncontrollables includes: * Time - Not enough, what happened in the past, worry about the future. * Nature - illness, aging, death, weather. * Other People - what they think, feel, say, do.

You reduce your stress when you put your time and energy into the one area where it will pay off, where you have total control and power to direct your life - in YOU - In knowing how you think and feel, and making choices about what is important to you.

Why it works ~

Sorting what you can and cannot control helps you see clearly where to place your attention. Although the conditioned mind (ego) does not accept change easily, it does like structure. When you provide a new way to sort thinking that makes logical sense, the mind is more willing to consider it.

Tip # 2 ~ Focus

Focus your attention on the power to make choices. You can only make choices in the present moment. The past is a memory and the future has not arrived.

You can make informed choices by learning from the past. Today's choices influence the future. Choosing consciously what you do in this moment is the most powerful thing you can do.

There is a finite amount of time in a day. You control what you choose to do with it. Prioritizing what is most important to you is essential. Then, it is easier to see what must either be delegated or dropped from the 'to do' list.

Life becomes much simpler, less stressful and more productive when you are realistic about what you can do and take responsibility for acting on that priority in the present moment. Focus on being aware of your choices today and notice how outcomes change.

Why it works ~

You are the only person who has control of your choices. Choosing not to take action is also a choice. In consciously choosing, you have the power to influence the direction and satisfaction of your future. You also influence - not control - everyone around you by the choices you make. Making a difference in the world begins within you taking charge of your part of the whole. A change in any part of the whole, changes the whole.

Tip # 3 ~ Observe

What reactions is your mind having to this information? Fight - resistance, looking for flaws in the logic. Or, flight - distraction, not wanting to continue reading. The mind resists changing core beliefs. Observe its resistance. This function of the conditioned mind, often referred to as the inner critic or bully, is a powerful force against making changes in your life.

In childhood, your mind formed ideas about how to be safe in the world. The conditioned mind (ego) is all about safety and survival. It gets scared when you decide not to play your life by the old "safe" rules. Like a parent, it is still telling you what you 'should' or 'should not' do, and judging your performance, often harshly.

Although the survival functions of the brain are important, you are no longer a vulnerable infant or child. Fight and flight are limited strategies for managing adult life and relationships. Observe these mental directives. What are the words your mind uses to keep you tied to old rules? What is the tone of voice? Whose voice does it sound like? Mom? Dad? Someone else? Keep a journal of your observations. Looking over your journal can give you clues to the pattern, or specific 'rule' or 'belief' that still informs your choices today. One of mine was, "If you say what you really think; people won't like you". Then, my mind would ruminate over things I had said, constantly judging the potential impact. This rule was time wasting, relationship stifling, and professionally defeating - all with the good intention to keep me "safe" from criticism.

Why it works ~

You are not your thoughts. Your mind is designed to support your decision-making, not control it. While the original unconscious program was useful in keeping you safe as a child, you must consciously update that program so it can serve you in being a powerful, response-able adult. Observing how the mind works, puts you back in the driver's seat of your life.

Tip # 4 ~ Stop, Drop & Replace

Take decisive action to Stop the Inner Critic.

Whenever you hear that inner voice spouting its shoulds, shouldn'ts, or judgments (negative or positive) - take action to stop the thought. Each inner voice is unique. If yours is aggressive, or hostile, you will want to stop it with some force. You can think or say aloud "Stop!" or use more colorful language. My inner critic is manipulative, with a tone of helpfulness. My approach is, "Thank you for sharing." then promptly let it go.

Drop the Image of who you think you 'should' be. This is a composite made up by various people, none of whom lives your unique life. A helpful strategy when you hear the words 'should' or 'should not' is to ask the question: "Who made that up?" Realize that the laws of nature are few. A human being made everything else up. Some beliefs are useful for living comfortably in society others do not. Choose the ones you want to keep and let the rest go.

Replace the old rules with supportive ones. From my earlier example, "If you say what you really think; people won't like you," I counter with, "By speaking my truth, others can connect with me and connect with their truth."

Why it works~

Conditioning and images are not the truth about who you are or 'should' be. They are unconscious programs running your precious life as if you were still a child. The mind, like a computer, uses an operating system. Your life is continuously changing. How will your computer serve you if you never update the operating system to keep up with changing technology, or, delete outdated files to clear space for new information? The mind requires continuous monitoring and updating in order to serve you in consciously choosing the life you want in this moment.

These four strategies for mental de-stressing will change your perspective, and give you control over your choices. Sort what you can control (inside you) from what you cannot control (outside of you), focus on what you can control, observe your mind's discomfort with staying present in the moment, stop - drop - and replace the negative self criticism and judgement based in past conditioning.

Final note: Getting outside supportive coaching or counseling to carry out these steps may be helpful and well worth the time and cost for a stress free life!

Depression Poetry Feelings Quotes:

Argue for your limitations and sure enough they're yours. By Richard Bach Illusions Find out about Depression Poetry Feelings

How to Overcome Depression – Dealing With Depression Successfully

There are situations in a person's life where isolation and lack of happiness is experienced. Depression is a condition where a person feels bored and miserable. This feeling can be troubling particularly when a person seems so low and cannot conquer the obstructions that he is facing.

Many have thought that this touching problem is not that grave to worry about. Researches have proved that this state of depression can be a poor health condition and must be treated with care. Some depressed people may go to a psychiatrist for check up and consultation. It could be more worthwhile if the person would see a therapist.

Most psychiatrists are extremely good in finding the reason why a person became depressed. The procedure by which a therapist treats depression is through emotional and psychological approach. On the other hand, a physician will advise patients to take anti-depressant medicines. There are occasion that have happened where a doctor treating a patient for depression was involved in such controversies where inappropriate medications were applied.

A specialist for depression would categorize a depressed person if he presents some symptoms of noteworthy weight loss, rise in appetite, loss of nimbleness, or weight gain because of extreme eating. Others who are depressed may also come across problems in sleeping or may suffer from insomnia, over sleeping, loss of sexual interest, and the lack of curiosity in lifestyle activities.

Some suggestion of depression may also come in a more emotional approach like the feeling of unhappiness and tedium, feeling of being a ineffectual individual, the feeling of culpability to oneself, the feeling of being unresolved to some simple decisions, and the diminish in the ability of the mind to think and concentrate. The most terrifying symptoms of depression may come if a person is all the time thinking of his death or an individual wants to commit suicide.

Here are some conducts to deal with depression

A) An individual must force himself to go outside. Do not even worry if the climatic conditions are not that good. Try to have a stroll outside, read a book, or even try to write poetry. This can be an efficient idea to conquer the depression rather than staying on the room alone.

2. It is all the time better if there are people that will hold up the person in depression. It is suggested that a person seek for a friend or a friend while he is still in the stage of improving depression. If the individual is not use to such a therapy, the Internet should be a very good resort to find ways how to find ways to treat this kind of ailment. It could be a little embarrassed to find some other people who are facing depression, but there is the likelihood that there are others out there that can relate.

3. It is sensible for the individual to write what he feels at that moment of depression. If there are no friends to tell what the problems are, he may try scripting about the feeling so that the abhorrence or sadness will collapse. Holding the feeling can just add more despair.

4. Meditation can be a good way to fight the depression. Deep breathing and good relaxation can ease anxiety and pressure that may escort to depression.

Depression can be treated if the person understands that he must also do his part on conquering the illness. If these suggested ways do not show any growth to let go of depression then it should be best if the person look for the help of a doctor or a therapist.

Teenage Depression Poems Quotes:

panic is a sudden desertion of us and a going over to the enemy of our imagination. By Christian Nevell Bovee Find out about Teenage Depression Poems

I Quit And Other Sensible Ideas - Or, Five Reasons To Stay A Writer

It comes along more frequently than not: The thought that you're insane and should pursue a career that doesn't stomp on your pride or demolish your ego. You have the hopes of fame and fortune to comfort you at times, but not often enough to keep doubt from gnawing at your mind.

Discouragement is a constant companion. You face rejections. You spend time, money and energy with no guarantee of financial gain (and if you're published, you face rejections; spend time, money and energy with no guarantee of financial gain). You endure looks of healthy disdain from people when you reveal you're a writer. If you're a literary writer, you're regarded with some awe; a genre author; however, is looked upon with the same reverence as a stripper.

At times like these, quitting seems like a sensible thing to do. I would encourage it, if you are constantly depressed and on the verge of madness. It isn't worth your sanity and publishing isn't an industry that is concerned with keeping you sane. Drinking may no longer be common among writers, but it certainly is a temptation.

If rejections make you want to bang your head against the wall, writing is painful and the thought of another damn story swimming in your head makes you nauseous - Stop. Now. If you can't stop, there's help. Here are five reasons to stay a writer:

You don't have to submit your work. There's no obligation for a writer to share their work with editors and critics (Emily Dickinson is a fine example) you can write for the pleasure of it. If you do wish to publicize your work, you can self-publish. However, you don't need to be published to be a writer (I know I keep saying this, but I will continue to do so until I am believed). Validation is great, creation divine. Create, explore, indulge! Be free. Write.

For immortality. When you die, there is a distinct possibility that your unpublished works will be discovered, you'll be proclaimed a genius, your books will be translated into many languages both live and dead, turned into a film every few decades and inspire legions of writers who are obscure and writing anyway. If you don't write, there will be nothing to discover.

Revenge. Remember that teacher who bloodied your beloved essays with red marks? That scathing critique partner with 'helpful advice?' That insolent editor who didn't even bother to send a form rejection, but scribbled 'No thanks' on your query? Well, write to show the bastards! Strong emotions are a great motivation to write. Write to prove them wrong.

We need stories. Naturally, literary snobs would beg to differ, thinking literature is being polluted by uneducated neophytes who have the audacity to write because they have the ability to type their names.

Fortunately, I find their opinions as necessary as Athletes' foot. Therefore, I implore you to tell your tales in your voice. No copycats please. It doesn't matter if your prose doesn't ring like Jane Austen, echo like J. California Cooper, bellow like Mark Twain, sing like JK Rowling's or linger like Anne Lamott's. We need stories to survive. Help us.

You get to determine your success. Writing can afford you big and little successes. The poem that brought a smile to your friend's face, the essay that saved the front page of the neighborhood newsletter, the short story that helped a lonely teenager through a hard time, the novel that opened someone's mind to a new way of thinking.

Okay, so you may never hit the bestseller's list, win a National Book Award or any award for that matter. Perhaps only the sky will know your gifts. You're living a dream few people allow themselves to experience. They talk about writing--some very loudly--but few do it. The world bends to those who proclaim who they are without apology (okay it doesn't actually bend, but it does bow a little).

Because you must. That's reason enough for me. I don't have a style or voice that many know and my work isn't breaking any records. There are times I want to throw up my hands and say, "Enough! I quit!" And the world sighs with relief, and I sigh feeling in control of my future. I stand up from my desk determined never to return. Then a little voice says... "There was this woman who discovered she was married to the wrong man..."

another poem..can you tell me what you think?

I hear the chilling rush of wind,
Within the darkness of my mind,
Shadows cast upon the walls,
Sadness in my heart entwined,
Living in my own insanity,
While coming closer every day,
With this fate bestowed upon me,
Death is the only way,
A cutting knife up to my throat,
Feel the ice cold blade against my skin,
Iv'e now begun to realize,
In this life I'll never win,
Breathing heavily- faster, faster,
Will I have the nerve?
I'm sick and tired of all the pain,
In thislife I don't deserve,
A sharp pain now- I'm gasping for air,
A a light begins to show,
As I'm wishing I didn't take my life,
But I guess I'll never know.

this poem was written a few months ago. i was born with clinical depression and my poetry comes from the heart, please dont look at this as just some typical teenage poem. please check out my other poems in my questions. id really appreciate some comments :].

There are some things that tie in with
this poem. A bit of weather because of chilling
wind along with depression.
There is one line that says death is the only way out
and the cut with the knife.
You are finding you can't tolerate pain anymore
Just when one would think the clouds have over shadowed
there is a light at the end of the tunnel
Helping one to put things in focus.

Major Depression Statistics Quotes:

Worry is interest paid on trouble before it comes due. By William Ralph Inge Find out about Major Depression Statistics

What is Psychological Depression?

It is one of the most common and most serious mental health problems facing people today. Psychological depression can interfere with a person's ability to function effectively throughout the day or even to have the motivation to get out of bed in the morning and it is in fact so common that over 1 in 5 Americans can expect to get some form of depression in their lifetime.

The causes behind depression are complex and not yet fully understood but we are able to treat it much more effectively because we have a better understanding of the causes of clinical depression.

The first step in fighting depression is to understand what it is, how it affects you, and what causes it. Unfortunately, many people do not recognize that depression is a treatable illness. Most people with a depressive illness do not seek treatment; although the great majority, even those whose depression is extremely severe can be helped. This condition is so common that over 1 in 5 Americans can expect to get some form of depression in their lifetime.

symptoms of major depression include at least five of the following symptoms (at least one must include the first and second listed below) and they must be present nearly every day, all day, for 2 weeks: Persistent depressed mood, including feelings of emptiness or sadness, loss of interest or pleasure in activities, feelings of hopelessness or pessimism, feelings of guilt, worthlessness and helplessness, insomnia, early morning awakening or oversleeping, change in eating (either loss or increased appetite), decreased energy, fatigue or feeling slowed down, restlessness and irritability, difficulty concentrating, remembering or making decisions, thoughts of suicide or death, persistent physical symptoms, such as headaches, digestive disorders or chronic pain.  A less severe type of depression, Dysthymia, involves long-term, chronic symptoms that do not disable, but keep one from functioning well or from feeling good.

The most important thing anyone can do for the depressed person is to help him or her get an appropriate diagnosis and treatment.  The guidelines for diagnosis of major depressive disorder and dysthymic disorder are found in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fourth Edition (DSM IV).  The depressed mood must persist for greater than two weeks in order to warrant this diagnosis.

The first step to getting appropriate treatment for depression is a physical examination by a physician.  Without treatment, symptoms can last for weeks, months, or years.  Appropriate treatment, however, can help most people who suffer from depression.  If a diagnosis of depression is made, treatment with medication and/or psychotherapy will help the depressed person return to a happier, more fulfilling life.  Most do best with combined treatment: medication to gain relatively quick symptom relief and psychotherapy to learn more effective ways to deal with life's problems, including depression.

Psychological depression is not something you can just "snap out of", it is a serious medical condition that affects the chemistry of the brain. With the appropriate medical treatment the vast majority of people of suffer from its effects can live depression free lives.
