Any people suffering from severe mental depression and is being treated for it will find that spending some time online in anxiety depression chat rooms is a very good thing. In the online chat rooms people will be able to discuss about their emotional problems they have been dealing with while remaining safely anonymous, and they will also be able to speak with those people who understand what they are going through.

Suffering from severe depression, whether it is anxiety depression, bipolar disorder, or just major depression, does not have to be done alone. Websites like DailyStrength.org are the online anxiety depression chat room and website geared to help people suffering from the effects of mental depression. The founders of these websites generally have many years of Internet experience and have a staff of health care experts acting as advisors on the website. Among the associates there used to be the paediatrician to help with childhood issues, the doctors specialized in internal medicine, and the marriage and family therapists. There also used to be an additional core of advisors ranging from stay at home mothers with child-rearing experience, bereavement counsellors, and even a television executive who specializes in women issues.

Websites like DailySrength.org was developed and designed to help the depressed people facing challenges in their life, most notably anxiety and depression, by having a place that was simple to use. In these websites they can also communicate how they are doing with their friends and family, support individuals, and others, giving them a place to respond back with the encouragement, and love. These online supports also helps individuals find other people who are in the same proverbial boat, giving them a chance to see that they are not alone in their suffering and that by sharing experiences, talking, treatments and even just some online affection in a safe community environment.

There is community in these sites for everyone like in DailySrength.org has over 500 communities all together that are specific to medical problems and life challenges. The coordinators of the web sites will even create a community if there is one people need and it is not there. The support staffs of the websites are available twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year so that people can talk to someone whenever they need to. The support staff and advisors of the online communities are all people who have faced depression, anxiety, and other ailments, and many of their family members are part of the community. Potential staffs talk to the people about similar treatments, lift someone up who is in a bad place, read news on each community, recommendations for just about everything, and a place to put up photos and journals.

Firstly a member will need to sign up for a free account in the website and then start their own wellness journal. In these websites members they will chronicle their bouts with depression, anxiety, and anything else they wish in an effort to share their story with others so that they can begin to heal. It is not compulsory for anyone to use their real name, but they can if they so desire. Sometimes in fact, just having a shoulder to lean on and knowing that someone out there really does care is enough to bring anyone closer to healing.

19 Facts About Depression At Midlife - Tips, Strategies, And Info-Bites

When we age, we produce less of two important mood stabilizing hormones, serotonin and dopamine. So, depression is a risk factor for both men and women as we get older. Yet twice as many women compared to men suffer from depression, which leads some to believe there is a link between the female sex hormones and depression.

1. Memory loss at midlife may not be related to aging, but depression. Depression affects our ability to concentrate and remember things. Our mind instead is caught in a cycle of self blame, guilt, or hopelessness,

2. Of the studies that differentiate between major depression and minor depression, an increase in minor depression (ie. non-clinical) is reported, rather than an increase in major depressive episodes,

3. Major depression is characterized by feeling sad or tearful all, or most of the time. Other symptoms include losing interest in regular activities and engaging in day to day life.

4. Those that seem to be at risk of suffering from major depression during menopause are those that have suffered major depression at some other time in their lives. This can include postnatal depression, severe depression associated with PMS, or any other type of clinical depression.

5. Some of the symptoms of perimenopause are also the symptoms of depression, so it's important to consider the whole picture. These common symptoms include tiredness, weight gain, insomnia, difficulties in concentration, memory loss, and a loss of interest in sex.

6. Depression is usually treated with psychological treatments and medication. The psychological treatments include cognitive behaviour therapy which looks at the negative ways we think; and Interpersonal therapy, to improve relationships.

7. Antidepressant medication covers a range including SSRI's, SNRI's, MAOI's, and others. Each class has a lot of individual medications within it, and people may tolerate one well, but have side effects on others. Finding an antidepressant medication appropriate to the individual can be a trial and error endeavor.

8. Some anti-depressants – prozac and others in the category of Selective Serotonin Re-uptake inhibitors (SSRI's) – may cause cardiovascular problems in some people after long term use.

9. If you're taking hormone replacement therapy, too high a dose of estrogen or androgen hormones can lead to side effects like headaches and anxiety. Synthetic progesterone treatments are also often associated with depression.

10. Caffeine and sugar, in excess, may have a negative impact on recurring depression.

11. Estrogen boosts the levels of serotonin and acetylcholine, which are neurohormones that make people feel good, and are part of a normal memory.

12. Deficiencies of the B vitamins biotin, folic acid, vitamin B6, and vitamin B12, have been linked with depression, as have vitamin C deficiencies.

13. Vitamin B6 is important because of it's role in making the monoamine neurotransmitters, which help stabilize moods.

14. Minerals linked to depression include deficiencies of calcium, copper, and magnesium.

15. St Johns Wort has been found to be as effective as prozac in treating mild to moderate depression.

16. Anecdotally, 5HTP has been found to help some people with depression who also suffer from weight problems and insomnia.

17. Our brain needs a small supply of good qualify fats every day. This is because nerve fibers are coated with a fatty sheath called myelin. Good sources of healthy fats include non-hydrogenated olive oil, sesame oil, and fish oil. Deficiencies of the omega 6 fatty acids may play a role in depression.

18. Depression is a risk factor for coronary heart disease.

19. Depression can increase the risk of more heart problems in people with coronary heart disease.

Federer Living With MDD?

MDD(Major Depressive Disorder) usually starts when someone is around 30 years old. I suffer from MDD myself (I'm 19) and Federer sure seems to have the signs.

Major depressive disorder (also known as clinical depression, major depression, unipolar depression, or unipolar disorder) is a mental disorder characterized by an all-encompassing low mood accompanied by low self-esteem, and loss of interest or pleasure in normally enjoyable activities.

This isn't an insult to Federer, but it sure seems like he suffers with MDD since he lost the French last year. This isn't a downsloap, because even in his pictures he no longer has a real smile, but is faking and you can tell he's very depressed.

So do you think Federer is living with MDD?

Roger sure has been showing many of the symptoms: crying spells, erratic, explosive anger, low self esteem, doubts, unusually critical of other players...He is a perfectionist to the core...typical type A, more vulnerable and prone to anxiety disorders.

Since I only see him in a distance, I have no right to diagnose him of having a major depression...Many of us live with a major depression from time to time w/o ever doubting we have a disorder and rely on easily accessible alcohol and drugs.

What a keen observation Julian, very possible Roger is going through a clinical depression, perhaps a transient or situational episode due to his career downfall, Mono, baby, marraige and all of the above ??

Depression Network Quotes:

No human thing is of serious importance. By Plato The Republic Find out about Depression Network

Network Chiropractic Care for Depression

Are you looking for a practitioner who offers Network Chiropractic care for depression in Fort Collins, Colorado? As I’m sure you already know depression is an ailment that affects millions of people, robbing them of their health, happiness, and vitality. In an age where antidepressants are passed out like candy, it’s refreshing to know that other options exist for those who want a more natural and holistic route to healing their depression. Network Chiropractic care fills this need and gives people the tools to regain control of their life.

Every person experiences his or her depression differently. One person can have severe insomnia and anxiety, while another experiences chronic pain and persistent pessimism. This is why traditional treatment methods do not work for everyone the same way. Network Chiropractic care focuses on each person as a unique individual and takes into consideration their specific set of circumstances, physicality, biorhythms, symptoms, and lifestyles.

The causes of depression can vary. Some people carry a genetic predisposition for it, while others begin to experience depression after a traumatic event in their lives. Depression can also be a result of hormonal imbalances. No matter what the cause may be, one aspect is consistent… there is a change within the brain’s chemistry and/or function that allows depression to consume an individual.

Network Chiropractic is the perfect care for depression because of how the entrainment affects the brain. The brain communicates with and regulates all the systems of the body through the spinal cord, which has delicate nerves running off of it, exiting through the spaces between the vertebrae in the spine and traveling out towards every aspect of the body. When an individual experiences any degree of stress, be it mental, emotional or physical, distortion is created within the spinal cord itself. This distortion then interferes with the nervous system’s ability to communicate properly with the brain, thus creating a ripple effect of ill-health through the entire system.

The main focus of this chiropractic care is to release the distortion within the spinal cord by gently applying specific pressure to the points where the spinal cord and vertebrae connect. Rather than focusing on adjusting the vertebrae themselves, as in traditional chiropractic, Network Chiropractic focuses on specific contact points, called spinal gateways, which alters the state or tone of the spinal cord, allowing the vertebrae to self correct and the neurology to release tension held in the system.  The effect is a feeling of calm and peace.

While receiving Network care, people are strongly encouraged to be conscious participants with all aspects of their health, which includes nutrition, lifestyle, and stress management. In doing so, they become aware of their state of being at every moment, allowing them to take control of their health and well-being.

By relieving distortions within the spinal cord, Network Chiropractic care entrains the body to move towards higher and higher levels of health and consciousness. This has a tremendous effect on those that live with depression.  Many who have received this care have seen significant changes in their mental, emotional, and physical symptoms, while some have even been able to reduce or eliminate their medications.

Depression - What's your experience?

Hello, I have suffered from depression/anxiety nearly 4 years ago which eventually mounted to talking to a psychiatrist for about 45 minutes and slowly recovered after that in about a month. I did reach a very low point for about a week or two where I lost hope and was just chugging along hoping for better days to come. Now I'm in the pit of it again and I went to see my family doctor who gave me a prescription saying it was up to you, as I only have thoughts and not actions. She referred to that psychiatristic again but he won't be available to see me for another month. My depression/anxiety includes derealization and dissociation as the world seems like a dream and it's strange how it just floats in space. I've had this thought before but only accompanied with depression/anxiety.
I was prescribed Celexa and said it was my choice as it my condition cleared up on it's own with a bit of talk therapy. I have a very supportive network of family, friends and doctors.
Should I take meds?

To be honest, in my own opinion, you should not resort to taking drugs prescribed from doctors. It's my belief that it's just doctors way of getting rich quick. I took lexapro for my depression 2 years ago. The first two weeks I felt better, I was actually happy for once, but this is also when I met my boyfriend. After those two weeks, I got worse. I felt terrible, I was even more depressed than I was before and now paranoid. After doing research on the internet I decided to quit using it altogether. Those SSRI's have way to many negative affects!

To tell you the truth, what I find that has worked for me is exercise, eating healthy, taking vitamins, keeping my mind busy, and talking to family members or trusted friends about my problems helps A LOT. Or in your case, having a doctor you can talk to can help you a lot.

I've been taking psychology in college and I learned something helpful about depression. Your amygdala, a part of the brain that is responsible for emotions or fear is turned on and has trouble turning off like normal brains do. A good way to turn off your amygdala is by keeping busy with work, and other activities. Ever notice when your busying your mind with a mathmatical equation you aren't feeling those depressed emotions? When your not doing anything or just sitting around your brain goes over and over those bad memories making them locked into your brain even more.

Well I tried my best to explain, I'm sorry if this doesnt make any sense to you. But I hope it helps in some small way.

But I only believe that if you are depressed you don't need medications. I dont know a thing about treating Bipolor or anything else, meds could very well be good for those who have different disorders other than depression.

Loneliness insomnia and change: the fear of these is even worse than the reality. By Mignon McLaughlin The Second Neurotic's Notebook1966 Find out about Depression Networking

symptoms of Depression – are you Depressed?

Depression is a serious mental disorder not to be confused with “normal” bad or depressed mood experienced by everyone sometimes. If a depression sufferer does not realise that he is depressed his life may be virtual hell without any obvious exit scenario. Many such patients drag along for years without treatment that could easily alleviate their depression. Therefore, it is very important to know the symptoms of depression and to be able to read the signs of depression when they occur. An early realisation that one experiences the symptoms of depression can in the most extreme cases virtually save lives, and even in light cases of depression often guarantee proper treatment of the disorder and a reversion to a good and joyful life. So what are the signs of depression most commonly seen?

One of the common signs of depression is a general loss of energy leading to persistent lethargy and to a lack of interest in most daily activities or even ones that one previously liked, such as hobbies. This goes often also hand in hand with social withdrawal. Another symptom of depression, probably the one most often associated with this mental disorder, is a deep and prolonged sadness, commonly without any apparent cause, which may even lead to unexplainable crying spells. feelings of worthlessness and guilt without a rational cause are also usual signs of depression. The depressed patient also suffers from a profound pessimism about his own future and the future of his social network and often even the world in general. This is often coupled with a total indifference towards almost anything and anyone. Indecisiveness and an inability to concentrate properly on tasks at hand are also symptoms of depression that occur regularly. The depressed patient may have problems to fall asleep and to keep sleeping without waking up in the middle of the night, leading to permanent sleepiness during the day. Interestingly there are also cases where the patient sleeps more than usual. Another, though relatively minor, symptom of depression is loss of appetite. Among the most serious signs of depression is obsessive thinking of disease and death, and even suicidal thoughts, which in the worst case may lead to suicide attempts. Anxiety is also often associated with depression as is a general irritability and agitation. Besides those more well-known signs and symptoms of depression organic diseases are often associated with depression. Patients suffering from unexplainable organ pains are sadly often treated purely for the organic disease, while the underlying cause may well be depression or another mental disorder.

Concluding it must be pointed out that one does not necessarily need to experience all symptoms of depression to be regarded depressed. Also, the intensity of the symptoms of depression may vary over time and from patient to patient, also depending on the kind of depression she has. In any case, if you or anyone you know shows all or more of the signs of depression listed above it is definitely advised to take action sooner rather than later. To get a proper diagnosis of the condition the first way should lead to a medical practitioner who will also be able to verify the symptoms of depression and to advise on the best treatment for the specific depression case. Always keep in mind: Depression is a disease that affects millions of people worldwide, but there are many highly effective ways available to treat it once it is properly diagnosed.

Is it important to have friends?

The friends I used to have were not good for my recovery, especially one "best friend" I had. The therapists and depression literature always tell us to "have friends as part of our support network." What if you don't have any friends? I am wary of getting close to anyone, because I have always been hurt in the past. I probably expect friends to help me more than they possibly are capable of. Maybe as I grow and change, I will have healthier friendships and relationships.

But is it IMPORTANT to have friends? If I don't have any now, then I have to figure out another means of support. What does everyone think?

PS I'm not complaining about having no friends - I can easily make friends, but again, they aren't healthy relationships.

I would address this question to your therapist. There are several issues tied up into your question. Generally speaking, it is extremely important for most people to have friends. It also tends to be even more so for individuals struggling with depression. However, in your case several problems may be preventing you from benefiting from friendship. First, it sounds like you have trouble trusting people and therefore might be prone to sabotaging your relationships. Second, you may need to create new friends who are supportive and loyal. Often, individuals with difficulty trusting other people, will find similar individuals as friends, which can cause bigger problems and more hurt for both individuals. A sort of self-fulfilling cycle. It sounds like you need to break this cycle.

So yes, you need friends. But, you should explore with your therapist whether your current people you know are the ones you should have as friends. And, you should also explore if your mistrust ever sabotages health relationships.

Precautions in Handling Glutenated Depression

Glutenated depression is a unique type of depression occurring in people with celiac disease. This depression is mainly the result of mal-absorption of essential nutrients by celiacs (people with celiac disease) There are simple but valuable precautions when you are diagnosed with celiac disease. They will certainly reduce the severity and after effects of glutenated depression.

Many people who are diagnosed with celiac disease are tempted to use antidepressants to get rid of their depression quickly. However, antidepressants can have many side effects including weight gain or weight loss, headaches and effects on sexual life. There are many therapies which introduce some novel ideas to treat such a depression. Many times the patients are not aware of the objectives behind such therapies and they just take the treatment without getting the benefit.

There are many simple and easy precautions. They are not expensive, they don't have any side effects and they can be very effective. Try the following and they will help you to end your depression faster.

1. Postpone important decisions - Major decisions in your life like getting married or divorced or switching jobs should not be taken in depressed mood. Its good to discuss decisions with others who know you well and take a more objective view of the situation.

2. Choose carefully your mental health professional - You should feel relaxed and comfortable talking with him. If you do not, then you should seek help from somewhere else. The frequency needs to be matched. Both of you should work as a team for making a plan to treat your glutenated depression together.

3. Set realistic goals for you - Always try to break up bigger tasks into smaller ones. This will ease the pressure. Set some priorities which are appropriate. Do what you can as you can.

4. Be patient - You cannot expect immediate results. Your mood will improve gradually. Its not a push button process. May be first your sleep and appetite will begin to improve, Then your depressed mood. Depression may come quickly, but will disappear slowly.

5. Break the connection - Avoid habitual things which you do when you are depressed. These routine will keep on your connection with depression. Break it. Don't do the depressive behavior.

6. Discard sad (or weak) voice - Thats what the depression wants. Read some jokes - may be from the net. Tell to your friends, or may be even to yourself. Laugh over them. At times it may be a fake laugh, but that’s ok. It certainly breaks your connection to depression.

7. Concentrate on something else - Never assume that you are unable to concentrate because you are depressed. So the good way to get out of depression is to concentrate on something else other than your depression. Concentrate on a nonsense word. Concentrate on some unimportant tasks.

There is no need to discontinue the treatments you are already undergoing. There precautions can supplement those treatments to accelerate your recovery

Net UK Immigration Is Up? Why Is This In a Recession / Possible Depression?

are people mad, or just too skint to leave now?

SOURCE:- YAHOO NEWS, TODAY.
I don't doubt you, but as a single white indigenous male my incapacity benefit has been stopped after only 3 months. I now have to compete fro crap jobs will all the said migrants. lol
Private:- due to my CSE German i know "Untermenschen" means "less than human" - i couldn't possibly comment. lol. Funny how i speak basics in about 4 languages but illiterate and articulate workers get maNY OF THE JOBS.
Haha ! Egg on my face, of course i meant INARTICULATE. lol

Unfortunately all those on this page who are opposed to an open door policy on immigration are just distant voices in the wind.
Far to many people in Britain today have little interest in what happens outside their own lives until it impacts on them at a personal level.

Whether it be crime or job related, most people are only concerned about themselves, their families and their jobs, they may grumble every now and then amongst their friends and families but that is as far as it gets, only when something actually happens to them or their families, do they take the time and have a good look around themselves, do they then realise what and by how much their area has changed.

By then of course it is already to late, and for most people their only option is to move, why most people are so indifferent to mass immigration is a mystery and beyond me.

There is a time to take counsel of your fears and there is a time to never listen to any fear. By George S. Patton Find out about Depression Net Forum

Freelance PHP Jobs

The first thing to know about a PHP job is that it has something to do with the internet and designing websites. PHP or Hypertext Processor is a kind of scripting module that helps embed dynamic content on web pages, making them more interactive and interesting. A PHP professional is usually someone who has an educational background in programming and web designing. These people are responsible for all the well thought out, innovative, and attention-grabbing content that each one of us experience on the web everyday.

Which brings us to the question that if you were a PHP professional what kind of a job would you be in? Typically, you would have to design web pages for the online websites of your clients - which would involve scripting in PHP (of course) and HTML; and putting together a lot of graphics, text, and other data formats. You would be working either alone or in a team, with your workload chalked out. You would be credited of your work and be able to cite the projects in your bio-data. And you could be either working for a firm - which would fish projects for you and allocate them to you as per your standing and pay you a fixed salary according to your workload and quality - or you could freelance.

Freelancing as a PHP professional is a viable career option with many takers and excellent opportunities for growth. As a freelancer, you would be able to select your own projects, and sometimes, even your own team. You would get to choose your own timings and take part in setting up the contract with your client. These contracts would ideally be very short term contracts in which you get the rough sketch of the product to be put up, which you deliver within a stipulated period.

It is needless to underscore the importance of a website for any company, government body or organization. Thus, PHP professionals - especially good ones - are constantly in demand. Companies put up ads in papers and on the net - numerous forums on the net act as platforms for PHP professionals to meet and interact with potential clients. It is essential that you remain alert at all times - a single visit to any one such freelance PHP forum is enough to give you an idea of the competition out there. As a PHP freelancer, you would have to keep up to date on the latest in web developing tools and keep evolving with the times - a never-ending process of constantly being in the loop and staying ahead of the pack.

A creative streak, along with the solid foundation in computer programming and web developing, is essential to come up with out-of-the-box results appealing to the public and your clients. Although PHP professionals are aplenty, only a few deliver offbeat products that catch the eye and captivate your mind. More often than not, a good PHP freelancer can expect to earn as much as an average pay package offered by a web designer firm to PHP professionals. If you are good at multitasking, taking up several projects simultaneously, and are good at meeting deadlines - freelancing as a PHP person is the right way to go for you.

Even though PHP professionals may freelance to gain more freedom and more money for their efforts, freelancing is not as sweet as it sounds. There are a lot of setbacks when you are a freelancer in the tech business. First, you have no fallbacks. A slight depression in the economy induces a horrible slump in the market and you find it hard to nail a project. There aren't any medical benefits, bonuses, or retirement contingencies - you are on your own and if anything goes wrong, you have to fetch for yourself. And, of course, the competition is ruthless and without mercy.

A freelancing PHP job comes with thorns attached, but it is sensible to be well informed of the collaterals before jumping into it first. Once you have an idea of what you are in for, you can take measures and prepare yourself for the worst, if it comes to that. Web designing involves creativity - no doubt - and if your firm is stifling it, then you have a good alternative as a freelance PHP professional.

Depression Journal Entries Quotes:

Fear is the lengthened shadow of ignorance. By Arnold Glasow Find out about Depression Journal Entries

Labor Day Weekend: Last Fun Blow-out or Work Weekend?

If you have not yet started back to school, Labor Day weekend might be your last big chance to enjoy some summer fun: go to the beach, relax with family and friends, go top the park, or just finally read that book you meant to read starting back in June. However, if you have already started back to school (as tens of thousands of students did last week), then you have two choices. You can either enjoy Labor Day weekend along with your friends and family, or else you can get started on the homework assignments which are surely already piling up.

Now, everyone could understand why it would make the most sense to get started on your research papers, essays, and journal entries. You never want to get behind when it comes to school work, especially at the college level. Once you are behind, you will have a really hard time catching up again. Many students, in fact, never do catch up again. And a big part of not falling behind is using every moment you have to your best advantage. That means never procrastinating, getting started as soon as possible, even working ahead if you can.

However, that isn't much fun. Everyone else will be having family reunions, big blowout picnics, beach get-aways, and doing so many other fun things that sitting down alone for many hours writing term papers sounds awfully depressing. That is definitely one way to look at it. Or you can remember that your education is an investment in your future, and what you put into it is exactly what you will get out of it. If you buckle down now, you will reap the rewards in the future.

Remember, though, that being a college student need not be drudgery all the time. Everyone has to live their lives, and you only live once! You can always buy a model paper when you need one to assist you through particularly rough patches -- or particularly fun patches when you would rather be with your friends and family than all alone in the library writing research papers. Just be sure to find a reputable academic writing and research company, one that can see you through your classes now, and for the months and years to come.

About the Author

Jon Ginsburg is a partner with PowerPapers.com, an innovative academic writing company which specializes in providing custom-written, original model papers of all kinds. PowerPapers firmly believes that a quality model paper can be a key learning tool for almost any student. Check them out at http://powerpapers.com.

How to write this book?

Okay. So I write alot, but I don't write stories or anything fiction. I usually blog my feelings, thoughts, and perspective upon the world. I have tons of them and I want to converge it all into a book. But I don't think many people would read something unorganized so I am thinking I should write my story, and put my entries in along the way? Or take bits and peices of my entries to flow with my story.

It is mostly about my struggle dealing with manic depression. I have journal/blog's that are very depressing (exploiting my thoughts and feelings at the time) And I also have very optomistic ones. I also have other entries just my thoughts and perspectives upon the world and I have a few elaborating what manic depression is, how to get help with it, and the signs of a someone who may be depressed. ect.

I am unable to decide how to do this. It is quite stressing me out.

Any ideas?

I've read two books dealing with the subject. One is 'Girl Interrupted' and the other is by a Dr. who is manic depressive. (I can't recall the title). Both were informative in different ways. Girl interrupted is actually like being in the girls head, she can't explain everything that she does or how she behaves but for those who suffer manic depression, like myself, I very much identified with the main character. The movie didn't really do the book justice as in the book you are inside the head of the character most of the time, things are explained in cryptic broken ways just like the mind of a manic depressive. Other times she's hypermanic when the words come fast and furious. In the movie you see their actions but without so much explaination although they give the impact of the outside world on mental health patients and how they are stigmatized.

--- With the second novel you have a woman with a PHD telling her story and explaining the science behind it as well as how the world views her status vs her illness. She is given 'the benefit of the doubt' because she is a Dr. and should know better. Problem is when she was off medications how is she supposed to recognize how bad she is. None the less she talks about how she survived going back and forth with her illness while studying for school as well as practicing medicine. She was high functioning which is what I am, unlike the character in Girl Interrupted who is low funcitoning as well as being a teen.

--- Either way you deal with the subject understand that others don't always know what manic depressives are going through. So it depends on who you are telling the story too, others suffering what you do or those on the outside looking in.

Wanna fly you got to give up the shit that weights you down. By Toni Morrison Find out about Free Depression Journal

50% of Depression sufferers Complain of These Physical symptoms of Depression

Are you suffering from physical symptoms of depression?

Depression, burn out, mental fatigue – whatever you may call it affects your entire body. For some reason, we have separated our minds from our bodies in the last decade of medicine, or perhaps two. We think that if something is wrong in our body, it won’t affect our mind. We forget that our neck connects our head to the rest of our body.

So, if you have physical pain, you could be suffering from depression. It’s usually a combination of physical pain along with feeling hopeless and helpless, but not always…

"We're becoming more sensitized that major depressive disorder has physical as well as emotional symptoms," says Stephen M. Stahl, M.D., Ph.D., associate professor of psychiatry at the University of California San Diego. He believes that the many unrecognized cases of depression—as high as 50% of all cases—may be ones that do not complain of depressed mood.

In a study of over 25,000 patients at 15 primary care centers on five continents, Seattle researchers found that 50% of all depressed patients worldwide report multiple unexplained physical symptoms. (Source: “When Depression Hurts” - Psychology Today Magazine- Hara Estroff Marano - Jul/Aug 2002)

The trouble is, too often your physical pain may be sending you or your doctor on a wild goose hunt looking for a different cause. The true source of the problem and your depression may go untreated as well as unrecognized.

Here are the physical symptoms of depression:

Back pain

Neck pain

Migraines

Leg pain

Chest pain

Stomach problems (digestion) – diarrhoea or constipation

Dizziness or lightheadedness

Exhaustion – sleeping at night and during the day

Lack of sleep – waking up early, can’t fall asleep at night

Change in eating – weight loss or weight gain

(Source: National Institute of Mental Health: “Depression”)

What to do if you think you suffer from these physical symptoms of depression?

First of all, see your doctor. These symptoms can also mean another illness either besides depression or in addition to your depression. Also, take our depression test.

Then, read our powerful 6 Steps Report which shares with you step by step what to apply to your life based on the research from leading medical journals. Visit our site to request this free report.

There is hope! You are worth it!

Really depressed I need some help?

I have bad depression and I have problems but I cant tell my mom about them
I'm on independent studies so I cant go to my school counselor
ok so I have a journal and everyday I write to my grandma who passed away 1 yr. ago september.
and I tell people not to look at it because she's the only one who I think really cared about me. well people decide not to listen to me and they read it and then start laughing and say " Nicole your so funny" or " Nicole your so dumb". and it hurts because while I'm writing to my grandma it makes me cry to think that I feel so stupid and that I'm gonna fail in life..
can someone please help me or give me some advice
I wish they had free online counselors that I could talk to but I havent found one yet.
I am 16 and a Junior in school please help me

I think the "Letters to Grandma" idea is an excellent idea.
A dead president once said "Ask not what your country can
do for you. Ask what you can do for your country".
In your case, I would borrow this quote to say "Ask not
what your friends can do for you. Ask what you can do for
your friends." In essence shift your focus from the
injustices heaped upon you by your friends and acquaintances
to what makes them unhappy in life and how you might
be able to help them.
Just a suggestion.

Hang in there kiddo. This too shall pass.

Coping With Depression

Coping with Depression

Here are a few tips on how to cope with depression in a relationship.

Depression is a universal phenomenon and quite possibly there is no one on the face of earth who has not gone through the course of depression at least once in his or her lifetime. When someone is in a love relationship, the chances of suffering from depression become higher.

It is very important to know different strategies for coping with depression, otherwise the depressed person may end up making fatal decisions in their life. This article focuses on discussing different strategies in the format of tips with the purpose of educating the readers to cope with episodes of depression in their life.

Build Your Knowledge about Depression

The first and most important thing for coping with depression is to understandall the necessary details about depression, its causes and effects, symptoms and treatments. For that purpose, you may consult with doctors specializing in mental health or you may depend on mental health journals. Apart from that, there are huge resources available on the net which can offer you plenty of information for depression and different strategies for coping with depression.

Learn How To Discern the Difference between Myth and Reality

The next important step for coping with depression is of course to increase your knowledge about the significant differences among myths and reality concerning depression and its different aspects. Many people believe that depression is not a treatable disease; hence there is no question of any specific possible treatments. Some people simply lable it as an experience of ordinary sadness; however, the fact is totally different. In fact, depression is a complex process and if not encountered at early stages, it may get out of hand and even cost lives..

Value Yourself and Your Unique Presence

Sometimes when we are in a relationship, we simply forget to value our own existence and unique identity by putting our family members first, which results in suffering from inevitable depression from identity confusion and identity distortion. You should respect yourself and know how to value your own decision and actions in a rational fashion. Set some time aside for yourself, give yourself a reward as an appreciation of your efforts, While coping with depression, you should first look at yourself from a dignified perspective.

Watch Out the Warning Signs

The behavior of a depressed individual is not the actual behavior. The common behaviors are withdrawn, shy, sullen and angry. Before coping with stress, try to identify the warning signs of depression in you and your partner. Most commonly, a depressed person experiences sudden outbursts of anger. In fact, they actually show their anger to themselves and their own mental state, although seemingly appear towards environment.

Seek Help and Treatment

Depression is a real disease and it is absolutely treatable. Similar to other illnesses, depression may get worse day by day if proper treatment has not been administered on time. There are various self-help groups around the world, who offer their unconditional support to the depressed individuals and help them coping with depression. If you are experiencing episodes of depression, it is better that you should visit these self-help groups. Additionally, you may also consult with doctors and mental health practitioners for possible treatments.

Don't Get Scamed! Read the Truth about Acne Myths and Get the acne free Skin you want Now!

I have read and heard so much false information on acne and people are misunderstanding this disease. The experts have researched and put an end to these acne myths. Here I have provided the truth about acne. Read below and discover the light about acne.

Acne myth 1

  • There have been many rumours that acne suffers are dirty people and don’t wash. Many skin infections are due to poor hygiene but acne does not work that way. The oil mixed with dead skin cells under the skins surface are the major causes of acne breakouts. It would be impossible by just cleaning your skin to cure acne, you can’t wash inside.

Acne myth 2

  • The olds wife’s tale of chocolate causes acne yet there is no evidence in intensive research in the matter, however foods high in iodine and some diary product have shown effects on acne.

Acne myth 4

  • A lot of people are in belief in that acne only affects your skin. Research suggests that it affects you psychological more than anything else. Many long term acne suffers also suffer from a psychological distress of some kind. Acne is known to make people feel worthless, damage their confidence, make them feel depressed and hopeless

Acne myth 5

  • The myth that causes more damage than anything else is that you must grow out of acne. Your hormones may balance as you pass puberty but it will not remove the harmed skin and emotional scars left by acne.  Many dermatologists have many treatments for acne. You could even go to the local drug store and pick up an effective acne remedy. Nobody needs to live with this horrible problem such as acne.

Acne myth 6

  • Other myth that’s been around is that sunbathing is good for acne. Which is half true, the sun will dry up your oils, but as soon as your skin adapts it will over produce oil. So maybe this is a very short term method but not a practical one. The worst problem with the sun that researchers believe is the fact that it increases your risk of skin cancer.
