what is the oregon state definition of an aid animal? does therapy for post traumatic stress disorder count?

My husband is currently reciving treatment for post-traumatic stress from being overseas with the army. His therapist told him to play with our dog, as it is a good stress-reliever. Since our dog is a grouchy old fella we got a kitten to love. Now our apartment manager tells us we cannot have a pet under 1 year old unless it is an "aid animal". Since the kitten is part of his therapy, does it count? I know he would be very upset to have to get rid of his kitty.

Have the doctor write a prescription for the cat. Not qwuite the same as for medicine but the cat is medicine so to speak. A letter from the doctor should be enough for the land lord. Be sure not to let the cat dammage his property though. Beyoun that you can go to legal aid and have them check it for you. they may write a letter as well.

Ptsd - Treating Trauma and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder With Hypnotherapy

Most of us experience trauma of one kind or another during our lifetime. It just seems built into existence. Indeed research suggests that from 50% to 90% of us will have to cope with trauma at one time or another.

Psychological trauma is the result of experiences that leave the person feeling overwhelmed and somehow unable to cope with and fully process the feelings and emotions produced by those experiences.

With trauma, the subconscious mind has been shocked by an event, or a series of events, and this has profoundly affected the functioning of the individual.

Powerful though it may be for the traumatised individual, on a psychological level the experience itself is somehow less important than the individual's perception and inner response to that experience.

This explains why a similar event may very well be shrugged off by one person yet creates real difficulty in another. What may be a traumatic experience for one may not be traumatic for another.

Trauma itself can happen at any time on the life journey.

It may take place in childhood, and occur as a result of experiencing or witnessing psychological or physical abuse, or extreme poverty, for example, and it can leave the child traumatised well into adulthood.

Or the trauma may have happened later in life, having its origins in abuse, accident, violence, crime, war, death or natural disaster.

Difficult though trauma may be, around 8% of the population will develop the more devastating form and symptoms of trauma known as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, or PTSD.

Left untreated, PTSD can have truly dire consequences for the individual, seriously affecting his or her relationships and ability to function on a work or an interpersonal level.

PTSD often results from an experience or experiences that threatened real physical harm. Sometimes, however, it can be caused by psychological and emotional trauma where there was no actual implication of physical harm.

Very often, though, it combines aspect of both of these.

While Post Traumatic Stress Disorder is in fact a chronic and severe emotional response to trauma, it differs from traumatic stress or combat stress in that it is usually much more intense and not at all transitory in nature.

In the past, PTSD was also known as shell shock, battle fatigue, and post traumatic stress syndrome.

It isn't necessary to have been in a war setting to experience PTSD, however, any real shock to the system - such as a car accident or a death, drug addiction or sexual assault - can bring it about.

Regardless of the cause, the trauma symptoms that result are very real and distressing for the person unfortunate enough to experience them.

Those suffering from this kind of trauma may experience chronic and acute anxiety, anger, disturbed sleep, disruptive thoughts, flashbacks or nightmares. Often they find it very difficult to talk about the events that caused the trauma.

Because of their disturbing nature, they find it difficult or impossible to effectively deal with and integrate these things on the subconscious level of the mind.

And this is where skilfully applied transformational hypnotherapy can be enormously useful, providing a trauma treatment that can lead to a full trauma recovery.

Working with a professional and highly skilled transformational hypnotherapist, the subconscious mind can be taught to re-process the traumatic experiences of the past so that the damage becomes neutralised and undone.

The fact is that, despite the fearful expectations and beliefs instilled during the traumatic experience itself, the person did survive. He or she did in fact make it through.

With the correct trauma therapy the actual facts of the traumatic experience remain, but the perception and the psychological disruptions once caused by those facts are forever altered.

Real and effective trauma treatment requires that the individual come to terms with what has happened so that he or she is then able to then let it go and move on with their life.

Of course, letting go does not mean that the traumatised person has to forget what has happened.

Yet it does very often mean that the person has to be helped to forgive any aggressor or any individual who may have been actively involved in the traumatic experience.

This is not for any religious reasons. Neither is it through any kind of altruism. It is simply because failure to do this simply keeps the person in bondage to the past, maintaining and supporting the damage - the continuing trauma stress, the ongoing emotional and mental trauma.

It needs to be stressed that forgiveness is for the traumatised person. It is not necessarily for the person or people who may have been responsible for causing the trauma. Indeed, very often the person or persons responsible for this remain forever unaware of the forgiveness.

But it is through real and meaningful forgiveness that the person is changed, released and set free. With the guidance of transformational hypnotherapy, the individual is shown how to forgive the past and in so doing heal and move on with their life.

If you or someone you care about is suffering from the truly devastating and debilitation effects of trauma, there really is something that can be done about it.

Working with a properly qualified and experienced transformational hypnotherapist you can put the nightmare of trauma behind you and move on with the life that has been put on hold.

With the right kind of help, you really can experience true trauma recovery and set yourself free of the experiences of the past.

How does post traumatic stress disorder effect war veterans?

i have to write a paper on post traumatic stress disorder, and how it impacts iraq and vietnam veterans. so i really nee some help looking for articles, and some ideas, okay so please help me out guys

well first off, everyone can get post traumatic stress from anything, its all mental, and i have it to be honest. Its not something you can control and its not something that is left unnoticed. You often catch yourself going through random flashbacks of a stressful situation. like I've noticed that when Im playing a video game, doesnt matter which game, but i was playing it and all of a sudden i was thinking about the stressful time that caused the post traumatic stress. and its like you re-live it temporarily, but some time had gone by because i had died on my game and my little sister had come in and asked me what i was doing. it causes bad dreams and makes you want to not sleep. depending on how bad it is. it just overall isnt something that is tolerable for very long

Anxiety - What is Post-traumatic Stress Disorder ?

Post-traumatic stress disorder also known as PTSD is a form of anxiety that can occur after the exposure to a terrifying event or ordeal in which grave physical harm happened or was threatened.

Traumatic events that may trigger PTSD include:

- Survivors of devastating earthquakes
- People that witness traumatic events
- Survivors of several accidents on the sea or air
- Physical and sexual abuse or crimes
- Major changes in someone's life
- Severe accidents car or plane accidents
- Violent personal assaults
- Natural disasters or human causes disasters (bombs)
- People taking part in terrorist rescues
- People affected by racism
- Military combat actions
- PTSD often occurs in soldiers attending wars
- Birth of a child can often cause PTSD (moms usually experience anxiety after birth and even during pregnancy).
- Any type of family violation
- Death of a loved one
- Being fired from work
- Divorce

Usually all the family members of the victim are disposed to develop post traumatic stress disorder. PTSD can occur in people of any age, and that includes children and adolescents.

symptoms of PTSD

Many PTSD sufferers repeatedly experience flashbacks, memories, nightmares, or frightening thoughts, these symptoms are most likely to happen when they are exposed to objects or objects that remind them of their trauma.

Common Symptoms :

- General Anxiety Disorder
- Irritability or anger
- Intense guilt or fear for no apparent reason
- Emotional numbness and sleep problems
- Severe depression
- Mood Swings

Lets have a closer look at the most common physical symptoms in (PTSD) :

- Weak Immune System
- Dizziness and numbness
- Chest pain
- Discomfort in other parts of the body, muscular tension
- Gastrointestinal issues
- Long term headaches

Sufferers often are treated for other causes than anxiety disorder. It happens often that sufferers think they have heart diseases, muscular problems or lack of minerals and vitamins.

Post-traumatic anxiety disorder can only be diagnosed if the symptoms last for more than one month. Symptoms do not occur immediately after the trauma, it usually varies, but they are most likely to occur within 3 months, it varies from one to another.

However some people recover in less than six months, others experience these symptoms a lot longer. Often PTSD may become chronic, and general anxiety disorder occurs. It can last for years if not treated in time.

There are lots of treatments available now, such as one to one coaching programs, which are completely natural and guaranteed, medication does help but they usually have bad side effects, they may reduce the level of anxiety, but in most of the cases it is not the cure.

General Statistics of PTSD

Studies have shown that 6.2 million adults in the US ages 18 to 58, approximately 4.6 percent of the people between these ages, have PTSD, the number is continuing to grow due to the high level of stress in urban areas. There are more women than men suffering from PTSD.

Treatment

One successful treatment that has worked for more than 40,000 people already is the panic Away program which is a one-to-one coaching, complete natural anxiety program mainly based on relaxation techniques and ways to master your thoughts to overcome PTSD and anxiety.

Depression Group Therapy Quotes:

Fear is faith that it won't work out. By Sister Mary Tricky Find out about Depression Group Therapy

Understanding Anger Group Therapy

Throughout life, every person is confronted with groups (family, school, professional and friends). Upon his arrival in the world, any person operates a slow socialization, both by the primary group of individualization and internalization of norms and values of the group to which he belongs. During this journey, any child may be faced with injury or trauma. We know how much a family unit can trace the development and balance of a child. Sometimes, the anger that is manifested by grown-ups has its roots in some childhood events and there is need for anger group therapy in order to manage it.

The group therapy is an ideal place for self-exploration and learning new behaviors. It plays and replays a positive role for the individual, by offering him identifications, transfers and transfers-cons, desires, impulses, relational ties, unconscious behavior as well as an analysis the size of their superego.

The anger group therapy is an evolving process of appropriation of the hidden meaning of the personal history and of the ability to alter the interaction with the environment.

Group therapy allows the participants to the sessions to identify ways of relating to others (fusion, dependency, inhibition, aggression ...), to improve his confidence in himself and others, and to learn how to belong to mainstream groups and live socially.

The listening techniques, the reformulation, the questioning, the role-playing allow the therapist of the anger group therapy to facilitate the speech of the participant and help raise all the inhibitions.

In some cases, all the members of a group gather around a single issue (groups of people with symptoms of anger or of eating disorders like bulimia, anorexia nervosa, obesity). They can share their suffering, their fears of rejection, their need for affirmation, they can work on the body image, adopt new eating habits, or become autonomous and independent. The therapist helps the patients to shape their image of themselves in a positive and constructive way.

According to a study published in the United States, anger can often be a sign of mental disease called intermittent explosive disorder, but this symptom is very often neglected. Nearly 16 million Americans or 7% of U.S. adults could be diagnosed at some point in their lives with "intermittent explosive disorder", say the researchers.

The antidepressant medicines and painkillers can help treating the disease, as well as the anger group therapy. These therapies can help patients to master their uncontrolled anger outwards. The shame and the embarrassment that appear after the crises of anger can prevent those who suffer from this disorder to seek help. In addition to that, the therapists may fail to put the appropriate the diagnosis if it focuses only on some secondary symptoms such as anxiety or depression. This disorder may occur, generally around the age of 13 years among boys and the age of 19 years for girls. If it is left untreated and if the suffering person does not participate in anger group therapy, it can lead to depression, alcoholism or even physical abuse.

what is a good group therapy activity for teenage boys?

they are in a psych ward, dealing with anger problems...family problems...depression, sexual abuse..pretty much everything.
they're in the psych ward, so no sports. it has to be therapeutic...aka...a lesson and things to be processed. so nothing like checkers or baseball.

Hmm...
why don't you try art therapy? crayons or something so they can't stab each other. say something like "draw a picture that represents how you feel right now" it can be a dot to a self portrait, but a picture does say a million words..

if that doesn't fly, cuz i know most guys will be like 'yo thats gay screw this' then... lets see...

play skeletons in the closet. have them go around in a circle and tell a secret to the group that they have never told anyone before. it can build trust among the group.

Acute Anxiety Reaction Quotes:

There are people who have an appetite for grief; pleasure is not strong enough and they crave pain. What are Some Physical symptoms of Anxiety and Stress?

It can arise from personal relationships, from career pressures, or just from everyday life events like slogging through the morning commute. To one degree or another, all of us experience stress. Most think of stress as a cerebral occurrence effecting only one's thoughts and feelings. However, it has now been amply documented that stress can trigger undesired reactions in the corporeal body. There are many physical symptoms of anxiety and stress.

Stress is so widespread in today's society that some experts have asserted over half of doctor's visit are due to ailments caused by underlying stress. Other experts claim stress is a major factor in over 80% of serious illnesses. With this in mind, it can prove to be very important to be able to recognize these symptoms.

Stress embodies itself over varied windows of time for different people. Three main categories differentiate between types of symptoms in this regard. effects which are immediately noticed are referred to as acute symptoms. A good example of this would be breaking out in a sweat and experiencing heart palpitations when confronted suddenly with a shocking or scary situation.

The second type is referred to as delayed stress. Most have us have heard of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. This is a perfect example of delayed stress embodiment. Physical symptoms do not emerge concurrent to the stressful situation, but they occur after time has elapsed. Sometimes physical symptoms can take years to emerge.

The final type within this analysis are stress related symptoms which become omnipresent. They emerge immediately upon triggers and do not subsist. These are referred to as chronic symptoms. Many claim these continual symptoms constitute the most dangerous threat. Left untreated, many of these symptoms can lead to serious illness, thus accounting for the statistics quoted above.

We've now discussed when symptoms emerge, now let's explore which actual symptoms can be triggered by experiencing stress. The most commonly referenced stress related symptom is high blood pressure. When confronted with a stressful situation, the body reacts by raising blood pressure in an attempt to supply blood, thus oxygen, more rapidly to your brain and other organs. Your body is attempting to give you an advantage to fight off whatever peril it thinks you are facing.

However, as most of us are aware, chronically high blood pressure serves the opposite effect. It does not help you avoid danger, it more serves to put you in harm's way. There are many other physical symptoms related to stress. The body seeks to increase its energy supply to assist in dealing with a perceived threat. It accomplishes this by producing increased levels of glucose. This too can have attendant issues.

Faster breathing and pulse are also common signs one is experiencing stress. These also can result in adverse long term health effects. The list is quite a long one. Stress leaves virtually no part of the body untouched. It is within everyone's interest to become educated about the physical symptoms of anxiety and stress.

Anxiety Reaction Definition Quotes:

You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself in any direction you choose. You're on your own. And you know what you know. You are the guy who'll decide where to go. By Dr. Seuss Find out about Anxiety Reaction Definition

Brain Fog and Anxiety

We all have bad days when we can not shake that feeling of mental uncertainty, the hollowness or brain fog ... it is tough to break through cloudy thoughts and buckle down to work. Maybe we were up too late the night before or downed a lot of drinks at the office party. Maybe it was merely a case of too little sleep, and too much anxiety. Whatever the cause, with the proper manner and nurturing approach these feelings quickly dissipate and life returns to normal ... generally.

What happens when the brain fog seems to "stick" the feelings keep on? Is this a sign or is it rather overlooking the apparent? Believe it or not, this is both. Often we tend to overlook the obvious signs and mental mystification after shooting, those who are not so easily shaken.

There are many variables that lead to these sensations. All are logical, in normal circumstances it is not hard to overcome. The explanation, understanding and natural treatment of these feelings can heal naturally and move on with our life.

First let's look at the indications of brain fog and if they apply to you:

  • Cloudiness of the mind
  • Feeling of cobwebs in the mind
  • Slowed thinking
  • Unexciting, feeling flat
  • Thinking beside oneself
  • Exhausted Mind
  • Failure to concentrate
  • Memory setbacks
  • Not having appetite
  • Nervousness
  • Being anxious
  • Fright

There are definite TRIGGERS can result in brain fog:

  • Constant tension
  • Extended concern
  • Poor Diet, Food, Nutrition
  • Unsolved Issues
  • Lack of sleep along with the concern
  • Prolonged sickness
  • Medicines
  • MSG reactive
  • Carbohydrate Intolerance
  • The symptoms of menopause or perimenopause
  • Extended Anxious Thought
  • Decreased levels of serotonin
  • Adrenal Fatigue
  • Excessive use of artificial sweeteners

However, feelings of brain fog are not a sign of the disease. They can often be intrusive and irritating, but they are easy to treat when appropriately approached.

Natural Treatment of Brain Fog

  • Learning to deal instantly, appropriately and effectively with stress.
  • Turn off ANXIETY: immediately Calm anxiety reactions and prevent their return.
  • Reset the brain: Turn off the worry routine.
  • Learn the art of clearing account: Breaking the pattern of constant pessimistic thought.
  • Appropriate use DIET/NUTRITION: Neutralize the anxiety and stress. Not all diets are created equivalent. There is no definite diet to break the cycle that generates brain fog.
  • Learn how to turn off the routine of racing thoughts, constant thought: the mind is refreshed.
  • Take a break from MSG and false sugars.
  • Labor, Employment: Keep busy doing stuff you love to do.
  • Remove most sophisticated and processed junk foods from your diet.
  • BALANCE: Levels of blood sugar and metabolism
  • Learn how to boost serotonin levels naturally every day.
  • Use specific foods: Choose breakfast foods to awaken the mind (including a lean protein), Energize at lunch (lighter, nutritious food), the calm of the night and prepare for sleep (specific carbohydrate, less protein). All carbohydrates are not equal. All cereals are not equal.
  • Mind/exercises of thought: Interrupt constant Fearful thoughts and allow the mind a chance to heal.
  • Hydration: pure and fresh water every day.
  • Recreational therapy: Learn how to let go, get fit and allow happiness back in your life.

NO # 1 FACTOR:

  • Learning to REST YOUR MIND without sleeping or meditating. This is the main healing factor.

In short, you have power over how you feel. If the brain fog has been upsetting your life, it's time to pay attention to this sign because it is a sign. It's time to slow down, take care of yourself and purge stressors that drain into the mind and body. The solution is simple, once understood, and healing is a relatively short term course.

Fight or Flight Response... ???

I honestly didn't know what the "flight or fight" response was until here recently... I had mistaken it as "anxiety" when I was in or around confrontations and or physical fights. (I've only been in one physical fight in my life.) The definition of it, as I take it, is our body's response for dangerous situations or what not and how it heightens and sharpens our senses... But mine does the opposite. For as long as I can remember, and EVEN NOW, I feel I'm going to pass out, I feel I'm outside of my body, my mind goes blank, I just stand there and don't have ANY reaction what so ever! Its like I can't even speak or anything. There's more to it, but its so hard to explain. What is the deal with this? Is THAT normal too?

Yeah, that's all part of the same 'fight or flight' Your body is freezing in place. Just like a deer in the headlights. A deer that is about to be hit by a car decides in an instant whether to take off (flight) or take whatever comes (fight). The fight part of it does not mean you actually are an aggressor, you just stick around for whatever comes.
I tend to be the one who flees in a panic. I avoid situations by making sure there is a way out before I get into a situations

What Rescue Remedy is good for anxiety attacks?

I have many many anxiety attacks a day and it gets worse day by day and I really dont want to be put on meds. Is there any natural way to go?

Hi, I'm sorry you have to go through this horrible ordeal. I have a terrible history of anxiety attacks. Mine come at times of stress. Before you rush in to looking for a 'rescue remedy', we should find out the 'root' of your problem so that we can rid of your anxiety forever. What triggered the first attack, do you remember? The best trick to ridding your anxiety is knowing that there is nothing to be afraid of these attack. You will not die. If you tell yourself that you are not scared of the attack, and breathe slowly, don't fight it, let it pass, than it will get better in time, trust me. You are getting the attack because you are afraid of it and you are trying to fight it.

Don't fight it, go outside, sit down and take long deep breaths.
There is a special way to breathing. Make sure you are breathing down to your navel and not jus your chest. Breathing to only your chest is what creates anxiety. if you learn patience and meditation, your symptom will go away within a minute or two and you will not get an attack.
Just sit with your head down, close your eyes, breath very slowly, the slower you breathe, the calmer your mind will be. Remember that you are causing these attacks which means you do have the power to stop it. Practice your breathing as often as possible so you are prepared when your symptoms come back.

Whatever you do avoid meds. Do NOT take them. I found that meditation works instantly and there is no side effects, only benefits.

And even if you do rid of the attacks, it is important you continue practice your breathing every single day. I took it for granted I will never get them again but I did and it was horrible. So please practice your breathing everyday so you are always aware and prepared.

Wish you luck!

Anxiety Stories Quotes:

There is a time to take counsel of your fears and there is a time to never listen to any fear. By George S. Patton Find out about Anxiety Stories

Anxiety Of Separation - Dealing With The Situation, The Daycare Way…

Separation anxiety is the biggest problem which every child going to a daycare experiences at some point of time. Many parents find it really comfortable leaving their child at a daycare centre while they head to work as they do not have time to take proper care of their tiny tot in the morning rush. However, it is your duty to make your child feel secured while you leave him/her at the daycare centre so that they are not affected by the fear of separation. You need to come up with innovative ideas for this purpose.

Though many children enjoy the new environment and the company of other kids, there are still many children who suffer from separation anxiety. Your first goal should be understand your child's needs and fears. You need to be able to distinguish between bad behavior and separation anxiety. You need to give your child to pass through this transition phase.

The first person a child looks forward to when he/she is feeling uncomfortable is his/her parent. It is your duty to free your child of all the fears and anxieties in his/her mind. You need to make sure that you spend quality time with your child before and after your children are back from the daycare centre. This is a good way to make your child feel relaxed and comfortable. In case you are not comfortable and anxious about leaving your child at a daycare centre, he/she is most likely to sense the anxiousness. You must prepare yourself and be confident about leaving your child at a daycare centre. Your confidence must be visible in your actions and voice so that your child feels comfortable too and feels secured that you are there for him.

Very often, your tiny tot starts off with his usual tantrums even before reaching the daycare centre. Though daycare issues can affect the environment at your place, you have to device ways to keep it under control. Start being consistent! Stick to the schedule that you have chalked out. Do not look up for ways to jump over your chores that you have planned. This would make it more difficult for your child to pass through the transition phase. Tell your child stories about daycare centers and what usually happens there. Explain it to him why you have to leave him there. Assure him that you will be back once you are done with your work. Get books on daycare stories from the local library and read it out to him at bedtime. Spend as much time as you can with him when you are home.

The transition phase can last up to two weeks or more depending mainly on your child. In case you think he/she is showing very serious reactions while dropping him off, than what used to be there previously, it is an indication that you may have to call off the facility as soon as possible. If you stay back and take a look at your child's daycare activities, you are sure to get a clearer picture of what your child is up to. You can then decide whether to leave your child at the daycare centre or to take care of him/her yourself.

Anxiety Stories <h2>Anxiety Stories Positive Feedback</h2>
I am suffering from anxiety disorder, does anyone have any success stories to lift my spirits?

I have recently been diagnosed with an anxiety problem. Last night i had a terrible panic attack and it was the worst i've ever had. I started taking medicine for my anxiety yesterday and i think thats what brought on the attack. I was really nervous about taking medicine. Has anyone been through a similar situation and had come out better and okay? Anything to lift my spirits would help...

I have been suffering from various anxiety disorders since I was 5 years old. I don't remember ever NOT having anxiety. It slowly took more and more of my life, until my freshman year of college I became completely agoraphobic, refusing to leave my dorm room to even go to class or the grocery store. I was terrified to be in public or around other people, I was having multiple panic attacks a day, I was extremely depressed and was having serious suicidal thoughts because I figured if this is going to be my life, it's not worth living. Being agoraphobic, having constant panic attacks, lying awake in bed all night because your brain is reeling and you can't shut it off... that's not life, that's not living.

I finally started seeing a therapist at my university's free mental health clinic, who redirected me to a psychiatrist and a different therapist who specialized in a therapy called cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT). I was diagnosed with Panic Disorder with Agoraphobia, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Social Phobia, and Emetophobia (fear of nausea/vomiting), as well as the major depressive disorder I have been dealing with since I was about 13 years old.

The medicine helped, but it was the therapy that really helped give me my life back. CBT is a special kind of therapy that focuses on your anxious thoughts and how they directly impact your behaviors (like having panic attacks, avoidance behaviors, etc.) By restructuring your anxious thoughts and changing the way you think, you can actually break the cycle of anxiety and stop the panic attacks and anxious thoughts/feelings. It takes a lot of hard work and determination but it DOES work and it can help you a lot.

If you want a success story, here it is. I went from not even being able to leave my house without having a full-blown crying panic attack and wanting to kill myself, to being a normal, social person. I hang out with friends, I go to parties, I can hold a job again (my panic disorder got so bad that I quit my job and nearly dropped out of college), I am able to function as a normal person without my anxiety ruling my life.

Does that mean my anxiety is completely gone? No. For me, it is never completely gone, and probably never will be. But I have the right tools that I learned in therapy to allow ME to be in control of how my anxiety affects me, instead of letting it control me. When I feel a little bit of panic coming on, now I know how to deal with it, instead of before when it would turn into a full-blown attack and leave me incapacitated. I have control now, I have the tools I need to beat it even when it tries to rear its ugly head, and you can have that too.

If you aren't seeing a therapist, I strongly recommend you start seeing one. Medication is great but alone it is not a good treatment for anxiety. Anxiety is extremely behavioral in nature and it needs to be attacked on both fronts, biological and behavioral. If you don't know how to find a good therapist, ask your doctor who they recommend. They will know who's good in your area.

Good luck! And remember this quote, it's one of my favorites when I need motivation in conquering my illnesses:

"I have heard there are troubles of more than one kind.
Some come from ahead and some come from behind.
But I've bought a big bat. I'm all ready you see.
Now my troubles are going to have troubles with me!"
- Dr. Seuss
