Argue for your limitations and sure enough they're yours. By Richard Bach Illusions Find out about Depression Dentistry

Keep Healthy And Good Looking: Address The Stress

The recent events of this past year have caused higher levels of stress than most of us have been accustomed to in quite a while. Our practice has observed an increase in cracked, more sensitive teeth, more complaints of headaches, and elevated occurrences of mouth ulcers.  Without a doubt, mental stress increases your chances of cardiovascular problems and causes undesirable weight gains due to higher levels of cortisol. Even worse, weight gains may cause one to try dangerous fad diets or even contemplate “purging” to lower calorie intake. This anxiety can lead to bigger eating disorders like bullimia or anorexia nervosa.

Furthermore, the stress ultimately takes a toll on your appearance beyond just a bulging waistline:

  • Your Skin-redness, psoraisis allow the skin to become less effective a barrier against harmful chemicals. The skin becomes more prone to dehydration and release of free radicals causing more wrinkle on the surface. The muscles of the face (from frowning, etc.) create deeper changes.
  • Sleep Deprivation from worrying or depression makes you look tired ,as well as, leading to decreased heart and immune function. This is a vicious cycle that must be rectified.
  • Your Smile certainly feels the effects from the weight of concerns, a depressed ego and possibly finances. Beyond the psychology, there is the physiologic clenching and grinding of the teeth which usually leads to headaches, cheek biting, and/or even worse, permanent damage to the enamel. Not only do your teeth wear down, get shorter, begin to yellow, but your bite begins to suffer. Furthermore, a bad bite starts to show up in your face because your facial muscles are stressed to compensate for your bite.

HERE’S THE GOOD NEWS!

You can do something about it!

Here’s a few suggestions from:

  • Improve Yor Emotions With Motion–exercise will make you breathe more ( help you relax), lose wait, and improve your self esteem
  • Laugh More–the power of laughing is magical. Don’t listen to the news–unless it’s good or you’re in it. Listen to satellite radio comedy channels in the car or watch a fun comedy. Those happy feelings conquers the anxiety and soothes alots.
  • Meditate
  • Renew Yor Skin—Follow Dr. Amy Wechsler’s 7 Habits of Healthy Skin to improve your appearance from the inside.
  • Sleep On It–Get some great tips from Dr. Oz. Imagine dreaming more and waking up refreshed and less stressed.
  • Don’t Fight Your Bite –relaxing yourself is a great start. Prevention is the best medicine. However, if there are cracks or wear and tear in your mouth , don’t wait to repair them to avoid even more costly discomfort, costs, or effects on your appearance.
  • ·

I know it’s a tough world out there. But taking care of yourself and addressing the stress will help you feel and look better.  That new and improved attitude will also allow you to attract better solutions and opportunities to make your life better again.

Let us know if we can help.

Do I qualify for veneers on NHS?

I am 23 years old and I used to be paranoid as a kid that I had big front teeth. When I was around 14, I sanded my own two front teeth down to the same size as the teeth either side of them. I now realise as an adult that they were perfectly normal and that it was a very stupid thing to do.
I was always scared and embarrassed to mention it to anyone until now and I have been completely beating myself up about this for years. I have an extreme lack of confidence in a lot of things including speaking and smiling which is caused by what I have done.
I am currently on benefits for depression and so I do not pay for dentistry. I have booked an appointment with the dentist for the first time in years as I have always been too scared. I am hoping that he will restore my teeth with veneers but I am completely worried that he will not do them as I am an NHS patient. The appointment is nout until the new year. Do you think I qualify for veneers as an NHS patient?

On the NHS there is a maximum you have to pay for one work session with the dentist. It's around £250 which is not a lot considering the cost of this work done privately. If your dentist is good he will do all of the work you need (costing thousands privately in one session) in the single session and not charge huge amounts.

Don't Get Burn Out As A Dental Assistant

Having a career as a Dental Assistant can be very rewarding. It can also be stressful and overwhelming at times. Working with people can get the best of us from time to time. You may not longer take pride or interest in your position as a Dental Assistant.

Burnout results in feelings of hopelessness and resentment. If left untreated, it can escalate to depression. Dental Assistants who experience burnout often feel unappreciated, overworked, feel they have too much to accomplish in limited time, and begin to resent their level of responsibility. Placing unrealistic expectations on yourself is also a factor in burnout.

Most people aren't even sure what is wrong at this point. However, you will begin to experience exhaustion that leads to irritability. Burnout often has symptoms including headaches, changes in appetite, and high blood pressure. During phases of burnout, your relationships both outside of work and at work are going to suffer.

Eventually not taking care of them will result in your inability to care for the needs of anyone else.

Meet your physical needs by having regular checkups, getting enough sleep, and eating right. Exercise is a very important part of feeling good physically. To keep yourself feeling good mentally, use your coping skills. Know what triggers your negative feelings and keep them in check. Keep realistic goals and demands on your body and your time. Don't beat yourself up if you didn't accomplish everything you set out to do that day. Instead, focus on what you did accomplish. Learn to manage your time. It is OK to say know if you already feel over extended.

Focusing on your social needs is also important. Nurture your relationships with your spouse, children, and close friends. Stay involved in Church and community organizations that are of interest to you. If you are unhappy with your job as a Dental Assistant, talk to your employer about help to remedy the situation. Improving your communication skills with others will also improve your over all health.

Dental Assistants generally enjoy their career choice and put forth their best effort everyday. However, burnout is very common in the dental field. Knowing what causes burnout, they signs and symptoms, and effective ways to manage it will make you be able to focus on your job again. Improving your physical, mental, and social health will soon having you going to work with enthusiasm and a thirst for knowledge in the dental field soon. Ways to Get Over Depression

Major depression is the most severe category of depression, sometimes also referred to as major depressive disorder, clinical depression, unipolar depression, or unipolar disorder, is a mental disorder that is characterized by a continuing and insisting low mood, self-esteem, and loss of interest in usual activities where people find enjoyment. It is also serious medical illness affecting 15 million American adults.

Most common time of onset is during the ages between 30 and 40 years, and may later peak at around the age of 50 to 60 years. Women are more often struck by maor depression, about twice the frequency as that of men, although men are generally at a higher risk of suicide.

Major depression’s diagnosis is based on the reports of a patient regarding his or her experiences. Major depression does not have any laboratory tests, and physicians will only most likely advice patients to undergo physical conditions tests to find causes of symptoms. Most frequent treatment method for major depression is with the regulation of antidepressant medication. There may also be instances where psychotherapy or counseling is required.

The three most common ways of treating major depression are medication, psychotherapy and electro-convulsive therapy. There is a wide range of different types of antidepressant medication that is available today for individuals that have been diagnosed with major depression. The most commonly used is Tricyclic antidepressants.

MAOIs or monoamine oxidase inhibitors are also a common type of antidepressant, usually prescribed for those who exhibit “atypical” depression with symptoms of oversleeping, panic attacks, and anxiety. For more information about Getting Over Depression visit the website, http://majordepression.com

I am being refused tests and diagnosis for severe crippling athritis because of depression. What can I do?

I have severe arthritic pain and can hardly walk. The condition is getting worse. my Gp and a pain specialist are constantly refusing me tests as they say my pain is a matter for a psychiatrist. This is related in my notes by the pain specialist. Changing GP can do no good as I have already done this. What can I do?

Pain can make you feel depressed and depression makes pain harder to deal with. So how do you break out of the vicious circle. First, do you have a diagnosis of arthritis? Is it osteoarthritis? If so, ask a pharmacist whether glucosamine and chondroitin sulphate will interfere with any depression medications you are on. If not, then give them a try. Some people find them helpful.

If you have rheumatoid arthritis then you need to see a rheumatologist and discuss management of your condition with them.

If you have not been diagnosed then ask your gp to do these two simple blood tests, ESR (Erythrocyte sedimentation rate) and CrP (C reactive protein). Both of these are likely to be raised if you have a rheumatoid type condition.

However, there can be a problem where you had pain due to some injury, flare up or whatever and then your brain keeps sensing the pain even when its original cause has gone away. It is sort of like the phantom pain experienced by some amputees. This type of pain does not respond well to painkillers and is something that can be helped by a psychiatrist, if you would be willing to accept its origin.

See if you can get one of your doctors to explain more clearly why they are saying these things to you. Your experience of pain, even if there is no apparent physical cause, may feel just as real to you and even more unpleasant as painkillers may not help much but its treatment may be different.

Good luck.

Depression Nutrition Therapy Quotes:

Some people are so sensitive they feel snubbed if an epidemic overlooks them. By Frank Hubbard Find out about Depression Nutrition Therapy

Prevention and Treatment for Depression

* Make sure you have a diet that provides adequate amounts of clcium and protein.

* If you crave carbohydrates, go on a high-carbohydrate diet. supplemented with 500 to 1,000 milligrams of I-tryptophan, taken three times a day with juice.

* If you are lethargic and depressed, and do not crave carbohydrates take a gram of tyrosine three times a day with meals.

* If you are taking monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MA 0 inhibitors), be sure to consume a tyramine-restricted diet.

* If you are on antidepressants, watch your weight carefully.

Lynn had always been a happy sort of teenager, but during the last six months she seemed to have changed completely. In fact, since her seven teeth birthday she had gradually drifted away from most of her friends. She had stopped caring about her looks, lost interest in everybody and everything, and withdrawn into herself. She had also lost her appetite and found it difficult to sleep. Her schoolwork, too, suddenly seemed unimportant to her performance in school fell off precipitously. Her mother noticed that Lynn had gained a good deal of weight, and that she would binge on cakes cookies, and chocolate at almost any time of day.

Lynn's mother had confided her concern about her daughter to a friend, and the friend had told her that she had been given a tryptophan supplement when she felt depressed and that it had worked well. Lynn went to a psychiatrist specializing in nutritional therapies. He ruled out physical or metabolic causes for her depression, such as hypoglycemia , and he agreed that tryptophan might help. Lynn started taking one gram of crypto three times a day. After four weeks, she said she began to feel much better. Within a year, she was able to stop taking the tryptophan and is once again a sociable young woman, as well as a successful student looking forward to college.

Other Advice:

There are many people who feel that controlling depression through natural dietary supplements and adjustments is far preferable to the use of antidepressant drugs, like the MAO inhibitors or tricyclic antidepressants. However, in cases of massive, continuing depression, or true emotional imbalances that severely disrupt a person's life, a doctor's care and appropriate medication are advised. The simple dietary supplements discussed here are intended for people who are usually well balanced, and who suffer only rarely or occasionally from depression and/or lethargy.

The emotionally ill, on the other hand, show dramatic changes in neurotransmitter levels that cannot be corrected solely by dietary supplements. Coffee will not cure depression. It is a brain stimulant and will temporarily improve your energy level and concentration. Although some unconventional therapists suggest that certain foods cause depression, this has yet to be proved. There is no harm in trying this approach, though it is unlikely that the majority of patients will benefit. In those cases where there is an apparent success, it also generally takes a long time to isolate the problem food, during which time the patient gets no relief.

Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation?

I have not seen recent questions and answers in the US about TMS. It has just been approved here but I know you guys have had it for a while. I would like to hear from people who have had it, or are now having this treatment. What I'd like to know is the reason you are doing it, whether you think it is successful, and whether there were side effects.
I have been battling depression for years, tried many medications and combinations of medications, tried therapy, nutrition, yoga, etc... The psychiatrist suggested it to me.

Wow, you guys, thank you. Lots of reading. My first answerer, I do 80% of your suggestions, I just have a really hard to treat depression. And my second answerer, it is not experimental in the US anymore. It was approved just last month by the FDA.

TMS is a treatment shown in the first 3 pages of section 2, on depression, at ezy build, below, but I have no feedback on it, yet. See http://www.bluepages.anu.edu.au/treatments/what_works/medical_treatments/transmag_stimul Not promising! A multidimensional approach to treating depression without medication follows. All except for no. (7.) are safe to use with medication, but not St. John's wort, because of interactions, and it's sensible to check out anything else first with your doctor.

(1.) Take 4 Omega 3 fish oil supplements, daily: (certified free of mercury) it is best if consumed with an antioxidant, such as an orange, or grapefruit, or their FRESHLY SQUEEZED juice. If vitamin E is added, it should be certified as being 100% from natural sources, or it may be synthetic: avoid it. In the winter months, replace 2 Omega 3 with a teaspoonful of cod liver oil, if not getting sufficient daily exposure to strong light (http://www.mercola.com/ SEARCHBAR: enter: "vitamin D"). Also take a vitamin B complex which is certified as being 100% of natural origin; a deficiency in vitamin B9 (folic acid, or folate) is known to cause depression. Around 30% - 40% of depressed people have low vitamin B12 levels. Depressed females using the contraceptive pill may benefit from vitamin B6 supplements. ~~~ (2.) Work up slowly to at least 20 minutes minutes of exercise, daily, or 30 - 60 mns, 5 times weekly. Too much exercise can cause stress, which isn't wanted when dealing with depression. ~~~ (3.) Occupational therapy (keeping busy allows little time for unproductive introspection, and keeps mental activity out of less desirable areas of the brain).

(4.) Use daily, a relaxation method* and/or yoga*, and/or Tai Chi. ~~~ (5.) Initially, at least, some form of counselling, preferably either Cognitive Behavio(u)ral Therapy, or Rational Emotive Behavio(u)ral Therapy. ~~~ (6.) Maintain a mood chart, and daily activities schedule. ~~~ (7.) As options, if desired, either a known, effective herbal remedy, such as St. John's wort, (get a German variety, if possible; local ones may vary in effectiveness. Take with a meal) or supplements, such as SAMe, or Inositol (from vitamin and health food stores, some supermarkets, or mail order: view section 55).

If 5HTP is used to boost serotonin levels, (which are low in depressed people) it is best taken with a high carbohydrate, minimal protein meal, like pasta, with tomato & basil, and avoid protein for 90 minutes, before, and after, to maximise the amount crossing the blood/brain barrier. Also, 80% of people in the Western world have low magnesium levels, and these are known to cause depression & anxiety. Try the magnesium supplement types shown in http://www.real-depression-help.com/ Some of these will be available in pharmacies, or supermarkets. Low levels of calcium, and potassium can also cause depression. Have your blood tested, and correct any deficiencies, preferably through improved nutrition.

An improvement can be noticed in as little as a week, if a deficiency is the cause. Also, use iodised salt, as many people are deficient, affecting thyroid function (one of the treatments in books on depression is iodine drops). Try to imagine, as vividly as possible, a time in the not too distant future, when you have overcome this temporary setback, and things are much better. *View section 2, on the first 3 pages, and also pages R, C, I, and section 11, at http://www.ezy-build.net.nz/~shaneris Also check out page V, and eventually the rest of section 2.

Depression Nutrition Treatment Quotes:

Worry is rust upon the blade. By Henry Ward Hughes Find out about Depression Nutrition Treatment

Types of Depression Medication: Classic Anti Depressants

Depression is the number one mental disorder in the western world with an ever increasing number of patients. Luckily there are many different types of depression medication and other treatments for depression available nowadays that are effective and allow for an alleviation or even cure of depression. Among the treatments for depression prescription anti depressants are by far the ones most commonly used. Given a broad lack of knowledge among many depressed patients about what these drugs actually do and what to expect when one takes them a review of those types of depression medication is well warranted. In principle one can distinguish four types of depression medication, though a few medicinal prescription treatments for depression do not directly fall into one of the four categories: Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors (SSRIs), Tricyclics Antidepressants (TCAs), Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors (MAOIs), and Serotonin/Norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (SNRIs).

All of those types of depression medication have many commonalities with regards to their mode of action. They all work by increasing the level of neurotransmitters in the brain. MAOIs do this by inhibiting the enzymatic breakdown of neurotransmitters serotonin and norepinephrine trough monoamine oxidase; TCAs prevent the uptake of various neurotransmitters such as dopamine, serotonin and norepinephrine; and SSRIs and SNRIs, as their name implies, selectively prevent the reuptake of specific neurotransmitters. Also, all mentioned treatments for depression may have serious side effects, although these side effects vary depending on the kind of anti depressant used. Furthermore, all types of depression medication start to have a positive effect on the depressed patient only after a treatment period of several days to weeks. They also need to be taken consistently over months and sometimes years before drug levels may be reduced or the drugs may not be needed any more by the patient. While the effect of anti depressants on neurotransmitter levels is well documented, how they actually work to lower depression is not definitely known. Some theories claim that the excessive levels of neurotransmitters induced by anti depressants over time lead to a down-regulation of neurotransmitter-receptors, which has a positive effect. Others believe that anti depressants also have positive longer term effects such as neurogenesis or altered gene expression patterns. Whatever the exact causes of the anti depressive effect of these types of depression treatment, they obviously work in many, though certainly not all, cases of depression as has been demonstrated in various clinical studies. Consequently, together with psychotherapy, anti depressants are the treatments for depression of choice for most medical professionals. Unfortunately all named types of depression medication are also known to produce tolerance, leading to the need to increase dosage or to switch to another depression treatment. In addition withdrawal effects are often seen when the patient is taken off medication, leading to a long-term dependence on the drugs used.

All in all the classic types of depression medication certainly have their merits. On the other hand due to the possibility of side effects, the induction of tolerance and the potential danger of establishing dependency on the drugs these treatments of depression should not be taken lightly and in no case without guidance and supervision from a medical professional. Also, the depressed patient should generally work on bettering her condition besides through taking drugs. A healthy nutrition, potentially including nutritional supplements, sports and outdoor activities as well as mental training, such as meditation are all supportive treatments for depression that should be applied to help the depressed patient fight against depression.

How to keep spirits up when battling chronic illness?

I've had numerous medical problems and surgeries with extended periods of pain and recovery. While I'm doing okay for now (knock wood....), I struggle with depression and anxiety over the past AND the likely future. My medical issues all result from treatment for cancer, over 23 years ago (!!), and I know I'm very fortunate to be doing as well as I am. But many of my surgeries have affected my self-esteem --- not just over body image, but also the overall "purpose" of my life. I'm working on living in the moment, and not mortgaging my future by worrying, but it's a lot easier said than done. Nutrition, laughter, and puppies have helped alot, but sometimes this marathon seems to have taken more from me than I have to give. Please help! (p.s. I'm not really depressed --- have enuf experience in THAT arena to be a freakin' expert --- but more resigned and stressed than sad.)

Welll the only answer i can really tell you is to have a sense of humor about it all. That is what has keapt me going, and still is, but do not use it to mask, casue then they have to get pass the mask to fine you and the things that are really bothering you,,even though you may find that they may think that you are using the humor to mask ,which you could be, but yet you still need that humor to keep you going, just try not to mask your feelings, and emotions, let them see the real you, cause it will really help you in the end.

Clinical Depression Newsletter Quotes:

Just as much as we see in others we have in ourselves. By William Hazlitt Find out about Clinical Depression Newsletter

Thoe Good And Bad Of Raising Teenagers

Most parents - whether they admit it or not - react to the onset of their child's teenage years with either trepidation or absolute dread. We look back to our own teenage years, and wonder how our parents lived through our fads, our raging hormones, our rebellion, and our attitudes. It's almost as though, overnight, our parents went from knowing everything to knowing nothing, from understanding our hopes and dreams to being clueless about who we are and what we want out of life. Looking back, we know that parenting teenagers is no cakewalk, and can't begin to imagine how we'll survive the ordeal.

If only there was a parent handbook or parent directory, teens would be so much easier to raise. Even a family newsletter with tips and hints would be welcomed and make us feel as though we're not alone in our journey. There's never a doubt that we want what's best for our children, but what are we supposed to do when we lose our equanimity and get sucked into yet another argument about friends or clothes or the car? Is there any hope of ever having another enjoyable family vacation? How do we know when our teenager just has the blues and when he or she is clinically depressed? If it's the latter, what are the skills involved in parenting troubled teens?

Although we may approach our child's teenage years with dread, the truth is that parenting teenagers can be rewarding. Here are four tips to get through those teenage years.

1. Acknowledge our power. Although our teens would be loath to admit it, we still wield an enormous amount of influence over them. We may not think they're listening to us, but they are. During stressful times when we're tempted to take the bait and lay down ultimatums or get into an argument, it's important to remember that we're still role models for our teens. The more often we take the high road, the more they'll benefit.

2. Loosen the apron strings. It's difficult to accept that the purpose of the teenage years is to separate and differentiate from parents. When our teenagers begin to develop their own personal tastes and opinions, and especially when they want to be treated "as adults," it's hard to find the right balance between maintaining control and allowing them to nurture their individuality. We have the right and the obligation to set rules and standards, but we can't set them arbitrarily. If our teens demonstrate that they're trustworthy, we must give them room to grow.

3. Be vigilant. It's difficult to imagine that parenting teenagers is more difficult than parenting toddlers, but it's true. We may have loosened the apron strings, but that doesn't mean we should let go. All teenagers have secrets, and it's our job to make sure that our teens' secrets don't have the potential to harm themselves or others. That doesn't mean snooping (trust goes both ways), but it does mean staying involved in and aware of their activities and friends.

4. Listen with our ears and our hearts. Teenagers are notoriously uncommunicative, so listening is doubly important. This means listening both when they're speaking and when they're not. As the saying goes, silence can speak volumes, so it's crucial to learn to interpret the different kinds of silence. We also need to learn to listen by asking. This doesn't mean hounding our teens with questions, but asking their opinions and truly hearing what they have to say - without passing judgment or correcting them. All teens seek acceptance, and although most go through periods of feeling acceptance is lacking from their peers, we can fill in the gaps.

There's no doubt that parenting teenagers is incredibly challenging. And the reality is that we may not see the fruits of our efforts for several years. But when we devote the time and develop the skills to effectively parent our teens, we will experience the rewards, both now and in the future.

here is the chance to learn about a fact that there is something that has the power to cure cancer, that it has been scientifically proven and that it has been hidden away from people because it comes from Mother Nature and can not be patented in any way.

General Information: About the Plant

Graviola is an ever green tree growing in the Amazon region of Brazil and in other countries that are touched by the Amazon Forest. It also grows in the tropical rainforest of North America. He grows up to 15 meter high covered with green, long and glossy leaves. His divine fruit is green sometimes a bit yellow shining, has the form of a human heart with a skin looking kind like a big cactus. Its white fruit flesh is eatable and people can buy it on the local Markets. The diameter of the fruit is 20 to 40 cm and local people are eating it out of the hand, the pulp is used to produce a refreshing sour-acid drink or as sorbet

Indian Tribes use Graviola as medicine since Centuries

Graviola counts with a very long history in the tribal herbal natural medicine. There are Healing substances in every part of the plant: a part of the powerful effects of the fruit we find high effective substances in the leaves, the roots, the trunk, the bark and the seeds. Indian Tribes know about the value of that miraculous tree and they are using the different parts tor multiple and diverse diseases and health Imbalances. Some examples

In Brazil Roots, Trunk and leaves are used as sedative tee and against nervousness, in other Latin America countries as sedative and as heart tonic medium, also for Diabetes. The leave tee is also used for lever problems and mixed with olive oil it is used for Rheumatism, Arthritis and Osteoarthritis pain in Peru. In Brazil they prepare a mixture out of an immature fruit mixed with Olive oil as extern treatment against Arthritis and Rheumatism.

Leaves are also used against Parasites in Brazil and against Catarrh in Peru.

Fruit, Seeds and Leaves are applied against fever, all kind of parasites, worms, diarrhea, in Brazil also to help increasing the milk of women after giving birth.

In other countries such as Haiti, West Indies and Jamaica are using Graviola as anti spasmodic, sedative, coughs and flu, as nerve strengthening tee, for asthma, hypertension and all kind of parasites, diarrhea and problems at childbirth.

Graviola and Science -

Cancer Research - Scientific Results on Graviol

The Graviola Fruit is already under research since the late 39 of last century - At that Time the science found out that the plant has components, natural principles and properties called "Annonacaeous Acetogenins", natural chemicals that are confirmed to be highly effective against many kind of tumor cells with components that are found as toxins that kills the cancer cells in a very specific way. Simply spoken Graviola has components that are able to isolate every cancer cell, to build a kind of bubble around it avoiding that the cancer cell can get any further nutrient, so it dies. The dead cancer cells are eliminated by the own body system without any side effects. Those components are hidden in all parts of the tree and in different combination they are used for many different kind of disease. They are documented as anti-microbus, anti-parasitic, antitumorous, anti-cancerous, anti-depressive and anti-spasmodic. Several study results have been published but few people reacted.

Since 1976 profound researches of the National Cancer Institute of the USA resulted in curing an "Adenocarcinoma" of the large intestine after short time. The therapeutic effect confirmed the power of Graviola and her components. This powerful component has been discovered by the German Research Scientist and Oncologist Helmut Keller and with three more Scientists they realized many studies on Graviola. As the Plant does NOT ALLOW any chemical process without losing the healing powers never nobody got to know about this effective cancer treatment. WHY??? - because it only works in natural form and a plant cannot be patented in any form, so the Pharmaceutical  World and the Monopoles could not get any profit from it and that is the reason they hided the information. Result:

Graviola contains very active, cytotoxic effects against cancer cells with a chemo therapeutic power that is

10.000 x stronger as Adriamicin, the drug that is used for traditional Chemo Therapy, - without any kind of side effects!.

(Since a while the HSI is offering now the copies of the results that can be bought for 25,00USD)

After the confirmation that Graviola can cure naturally Cancer the National Health Institute has indicated 20 Labs to studies the plant during 20 years without any result to transform the active principles into a valid remedy. At the end they gave up and let the miraculous findings in the drawer of their institute

Since 1996 other groups of scientists did researches on Graviola and found out that the fruit possesses characteristics against tumor formation and that it produces selective toxins against different kinds of cancer cells, without attacking healthy cells. They confirmed the findings of their results were published 8 different clinical studies.

The different studies of different laboratories resulted in incredible findings that the Acetogenines of Graviola have an unbeatable component in prevention of enzyme formations, which are only found in the diaphragm by tumors and cancer cells. That is the reason, why they are poisonous only for cancer cells without attacking healthy cells. The Acetonines recognize the sick cells isolates the individual cancer cells and for missing nutrients the cancer cell dies.

In the year 1997 a small group of scientists found out, that Graviola contains also alkaloids which have an anti-depressive effect. In the same year the PARDU UNIVERSITY published the information that they discovered even more powers within Graviola. Their clinical studies confirmed that the "Annonacae Acetonine" in Graviola are so effective, that they do not only kill normal cancer cells, but that they are also very effective in killing those cancer cells that are resistant on Chemo Therapy. This investigation explained how that is possible: Those cancer cells that survive the Chemo Therapy are developing resistance against many other kind of drugs, called Multi-Drug-Resistant (MDR) what makes them immune against any treatment and leads the patient 100% to death

After 20 Year of research the Pharma Industry got aware of the Plant and started research by their own seeking a form and way to transform the active principles and components into a cancer remedy. They also failed. Graviola does not allow any kind of chemical reproduction. It is reconfirmed that Graviola only works as it grows in nature and it beats cancer better then any synthetic drug or heavy poison rays. Until today many different groups of scientists are still researching to create a similar product as Annonacins and it still works only like it grown in Nature.

All that information has been kept in secret because Pharmacies could not transform it into something that would give them a huge profit. So they gave proof that they are not really interested in heal people but in making huge profits from those who are already sufficiently hidden by the disease itself. Why would somebody create so many unnecessary pain when there is something much stronger and without any life threatening side effect.

At the end of the nineties one of the Scientists who was part of one of the research teams broke the silence for reasons of consciousness and some of the reports were accessible for the medicine world. Simultaneously some people from Brazil got kind of divine guidance to go to the Amazon and to study the Plants of the Rainforest. They were integrating the native people to learn from them as their knowledge about healing plants of the Rainforest is reaching back in time for many centuries.

The good thing is that for one time in this world the science is NOT finding a way of manipulation - the power of healing cancer lies in Graviola and several  further plants that God preserved to be used like the Almighty lets it grow. It is a blessing for Mankind and a gift from Mother Earth - A wake up call to become conscious and to start honoring the gifts we have forgotten that they exist. When we destroy the rainforests we destroy the lungs of our planet and without oxygen all life will die. We need to open up our hearts to understand that all what we experience has a solution and all what we suffer of different kind of disease has a natural way of cure in nature.

Native Wisdom

After learning about ethnological medicine and their high evolved knowledge we should ask ourselves who is more advanced. They have no hospitals and they have NO CANCER or did you ever see a Native in a Cancer Department of a Hospital? They do not have Laboratories, they don't transform any plant into a pill and they are heal.

The Natives still show us today how to live with nature and how nature provides all what we need for a healthy life. What do we as the so called Civilized World with Nature and with ourselves? We allow destructive exploitation, depletion, exhaustive cultivation, robber economy, not only with Mother Nature but also with our own lives. We burn the candle at two ends disrespecting the holiness of our body. We abuse a maximum and the end is deadly disease. Is that a wonder? No it is just a consequence of our issues, our habits, our believe systems and our actions, of out thoughts, words and the ability to look away when things are not in harmony with the cosmic order. We just don't care when it does not hit us personally. To heal really we have to heal ALL THE REALMS we are living in otherwise we only get a momentum cure. Can you feel that? It is NOT a question of understanding but of feeling!!!!! We shot our feelings down

You go against your feelings and you get sick!!!

How many times a day we do that???? We have to come back to the heart and stand up to safe the natural resources that are still intact like the rainforest as biggest source of healing plants that exists in our world

A German Doctor made holiday in the Amazon Region and he was wondering how many natural remedies are there on the market. He took some of the to try and as I started to teach in Germany about Graviola and the Rainforest he showed up and said: I am director of a Hospital and I was looking for a way to make people the Amazonian Healing Powers available. I our Hospital we have a new system and are open for alternative healing methods. We offer open Seminaries and you can come whenever you want to talk about cancer and other disease. I did for Diabetes ….. it was amazing

So the Western Countries are learning about Graviola and the Healing Powers of Graviola, the miraculous fruit that brings never ending surprises to people with cancer and other heavy disease. Graviola is a chance for all those who are hidden by Cancer or one of the other diseases of civilization.

This Article  is a Wake up Call and a Chance to survive Cancer. I

Graviola is not only a miracle against cancer cells, but has also components (results of researches) that can eliminate other chemicals like cortisone, drugs and all kind poisons in our body. This is UNIQUE as Cortisone remains into people's bodies forever with the horrendous side effect that people are gaining weight fro nothing. Graviola is the power of life that is able to clean all poisons we are exposed today in our daily life in air, water and nutrients. It has the amazing natural potency to clean and to regenerate our body cells. Just remember that our body is the Holy Temple of Life that deserves all our respect because the body makes us the gift to be alive and to experience this wonderful personal journey on this beautiful planet, to have fun and grow in all senses when we maintain us in a healthy state.

This Plant and many others are a gift of Divine Source and Mother Earth preserved for our times to remember the love we should have for our divine vehicle, for ourselves and for all life. Divine Source and Mother Earth have the medium for people who have lost faith in the daily battle for survival

This fruit has the form of a huge heart to show you even by its form that only the heart can heal without any kind of human manipulation, pure and natural like it is given.

A little insight of my own experiences:

As Multi-Dimensional Free Way Healer I learned to go straight to the cause of a disease that is created by denying feelings, psychic shocks, and heavy experiences on heart and soul level as well as body misuse of any kind. It can be karmic origin or even living on a place that is over poisoned by electricity or environmental. Nevertheless we can never get sick when our body defense is working properly and that opens the door to all what we experience. The way of cause and effect never fails and even incurable disease is curable by cosmic law. I always was driven to the Rainforest and I knew deep within that some kind of cure for the physical body should exist in that huge natural pharmacy of Mother Earth. I asked God to get something into my hands that helps people faster to understand and faster to heal so they can learn on big scale and not just one by one.

7 years ago - I was at about to travel to Germany and the day before a friend of my spiritual group from years ago over sudden crossed my way (we had moved both at the same time without thinking to exchange addresses). She asked me when I am going to travel again to Germany and if I could help the next time I go to open an enterprise that sells Amazon Natural Nutrients that are a power house of healing and there is nobody who speaks well German. Well, the word Amazon was hiding me like an electric shock and I was just going the next day… Is this the answer of my prayers I thought but I did not reacted so far as my journey had another purpose. After one week something drove me to get in touch and I felt the obligation to call and the representative came to my place to present the products, 7 at that time. He started to explain each product and as I held the bottle of a mixture of Graviola and 6 other anti cancerous components in my hands instantaneously my entire body was increasing tremendous heat waves and source transmitted: that is what you have asked for and of course I learned all I had to learn and stood in Germany for 9 month to get the information out there fighting the meanings and beliefs of traditional cancer cure

Within three weeks we had a intestine carcinoma disappearing, one prostate cancer patient who had the surgery marked, he was called into the hospital three days before the marked date for last examinations and o wonder all metastasis had disappeared. The doctors did not belief it and they said that those tumors cannot disappear just like that, that they are certainly hidden in some place and they ordained surgery anyways. Is this normal?

A single mom with an 9 year old girl: after three chemo therapies and one surgery -close to death has a friend marries to a German knowing my mother - he head heavy heart surgery and just came back from Germany after 6 month Hospital - got the power juice and as he felt better after 3 days only he brought us this lady - she took three different juices at once at she was in a very advanced stat, no hair , no more faith and with a lot of fears to let her girl  behind alone - after 4 days she started to feel better after 10 days her hair started growing again, after 2 weeks she was sure that she will survive and she said: I am not going to tell this my doctor, I just will go there to the next control in 6 weeks and I will be safe. She did - as she had the next examination the result was so amazing that the doctor made a national seminary on her case, but nobody wanted to listen to her how she got better and she told me that this is not important for her - her life is more worthy then what doctors belief or not

There are so many cases I was testimony of that it would fill books and it would made you cry as it does with 100s of people when they hear at the annual gathering people telling their stories of survival in the last moment - their despair facing death and their families without a penny left because no assurance would take the bills anymore - family selling everything they have to safe a beloved one.

One friend of mine Brazilian  Plastic Surgery Specialist got Leukemia Myeloid and the needed urgently a cell transplant - she was on a list number 989 - I past 4 month with her working on her and finally we could access the products and the doctor of the enterprise said to her: You know that you are in the hands of God? Yes - but nevertheless we will give it a try - you got to take 5 different products and we found a sponsor - today she has a foundation for abandoned animals - she left her wheel chair behind and she is fine!!!!

All those experiences are divine one by one but I think that more people need to know about it - from mouth to mouth it is just to slow - there are so many people suffering for nothing. The Lady who became director of the German enterprise had 5 types of cancer - 5 children - her best friend a director of a Hospital - he told her to go home and to spend the last time with her children - that his art has come to an end and that he is so sorry. At home a friend passed by and told her about those products - she loves life and she took one product only - after a week she felt stronger - her life powers came back she felt that she could make it and she said she would only go and show up front of her doctor and friend when she was fine. After 6 month she visited him in the hospital - he cried and asked what she did - she talked about the products and halleluiah the doctor today is working in his hospital with those products too. There is not only hope THERE IS HEALING OUT THERE and people need to be informed!

---------------------------------------------------------

Here some more evidence I found in different reports of the 100 strongest Underground Cures:

CANCER "MAGIC BULLET" DISCOVERED - but drug giant hushes it up!

10,000 times stronger than chemotherapy with no adverse side effects

DARYL S. HAD 12 TUMORS IN HIS PROSTATE. But he received a cutting-edge treatment that helped save his life. And... In 3 months, his PSA dropped  AND THE TUMORS DISAPPEARED

HOW? Daryl's secret was the help of an amazing tree that grows deep in the Amazon rainforest. Called Graviola, it may well prove to be the ultimate cancer-fighter. Studies by the National Cancer Institute already show that Graviola extract is 10,000 times stronger than top chemotherapy drugs...

Yet it's incredible precision hunts down cancer cells while leaving healthy cells completely alone! Graviola just seems to "know" which cells to kill and which to avoid. There's no nausea, no hair loss, no weight loss, no weakening of the immune system.

The news about Graviola sent shockwaves through HSI's extensive medical network. But the story behind Graviola is just as shocking.

As we learned, this lifesaving discovery was very nearly denied to mankind. And I'm sorry to say the reason is that somebody sat on the research. The trail of evidence clearly shows...

For 7 long years, a billion-dollar drug company covered it up!

What's more, this is undoubtedly not the first time that something like this has happened. Following is a textbook example of how modern drug research works, and how your health falls victim to the pursuit of money and power:

It all started in the early 1990s, when this well-known drug giant started pouring money into the search for a cancer cure..

What gave Jacqueline the power to CONQUER BREAST CANCER?

JACQUELINE HAD BREAST CANCER, but she also had a huge advantage in her battle. Best of all, it works by using your own body's army of natural "killer cells." So, it actually makes you feel more energetic, rather than sapping your strength. Like many such firms, they were intrigued by the healing powers of rainforest plants. They discovered that Graviola was being used by Amazon Indians to treat a huge range of diseases. And when they tested its cancer-fighting powers, bingo, they discovered a revolution...

But you can't make megabucks from any cure UNLESS YOU PATENT IT...

And no one can patent a tree that's been around for millions of years. So the drug firm tried for seven years to come up with man-made duplicates. But they hit a brick wall. Try as they might, they couldn't match Mother Nature. Finally, they tossed in the towel...

Okay, they're in business to make money. Fine. But let me ask you...

If the research files for this breakthrough were sitting on your desk, what would you do with them? Call a news conference? Send out press releases

At the very least, wouldn't you publish them all in a prominent medical journal? After all, more than 6 million Americans have died from cancer in the last few decades.

Think how many might have been saved if a discovery like this had been available. But, instead of turning it over to independent researchers…….-

They boxed it up, put it on the shelf - AND TURNED OFF THE LIGHT

Happily, one courageous researcher just couldn't live with that decision. He spilled the beans... and the result may turn out to be the most life-saving substance on earth. More clinical trials are needed, but more than 20 studies to date have already established that...

Graviola can wipe out 12 types of cancer cells, including breast, prostate, colon, lung and pancreatic tumors

Yet, unlike any chemotherapy drug, it leaves healthy cells undamaged.

A miracle? Perhaps. Yet even now, not one drug company we know of has picked it up and run with it.

WHY? Same reason. No one can legally patent it.

Are you starting to see?

AMAZON MIRACLE TREE fights much more than cancer

HSI-Reports

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My report continues here:

Healings -Cures - and Lies about Conventional Treatments

True example: In Germany one of the Patients of Dr. D. Hamer (working on the psychic shocks for cancer cure) suffered breast Cancer and she was asked three times in the hospital if she is Jewish and she denied - she had family members who were but she wasn't. She was wondering first why they asked that. The next day another doctor appeared in her Hospital room offering her a heavy treatment apart of the chemo therapy and he told her that people with cancer have only 10% chances to survive but she could be one of the 10% when she would accept this incredible expensive proposal. The got aware of why she was asked if she is Jewish and as it was not the same doctor, she answered, sorry I cannot do that as I am Jewish - the doctor replied: oh I didn't know and leaving the room he remarked: you will be fine anyways……  can you believe that? But that is the truth about heavy and expensive treatments and people believe the Chemo (90% are not making it) and suffer for nothing…. The Lady reported the doctors and left the hospital. One thing is the big lie about Cancer - the other side has the solution and is not sufficiently known yet to help many people and children avoiding so much unnecessary pain. You will become porter of the secret - during May I will send out a report about the plant and how to get the juice product that is saving 1000s of lives since 9 years in Latin America and 5 other countries - not in USA yet apart of some friends of mine I sent the product to help them get well.

(She is German and the report is to find on Dr Hamer's German Website)

Conclusion

What more can I say now as that I have experiences with Graviola since 7 years - As I learned by guidance how cases are set into motion that ends up in heavy disease or chronicle disease, even aids is one of the biggest lies, during this year I will publish more reports on products and natural powers for many of diseases that are used by the science to as a good income instead to inform about simple cures from inside out. Graviola helps reproducing the killer cells without our body that is the reason self defense it growing fast as the own body helps the nutrients to fight the sick cells in the body structure -any of them.

The latest studies in Brazil have confirmed that the product combination with Graviola has a component that kills even the Hospital Virus - this is a killer virus without cure until today that is 1000% deadly - we got results that are amazing.  In the meanwhile the component who does that that been found.

We are working to get information out to doctors and alternative healers. There is so much to learn and to do because the greatest shift has to be done in education. It is not easy to teach people who have been driven in only one direction to believe denying all other ways, even if their own life depends on that.

The reason of cancer is a psychic shock and it is not so difficult to learn about it - recreate your life from inside out and use the fruits, plants and natural elements that Mother Earth grows so we can get well. Let's open our hearts and minds for the Amazon Rainforest and join people work fro the protection of this last wonder of an intact ecosystem and stop burning down 5000 square miles each day so some people can make their profit. They are killing life itself and we are the crown of creation and should honor all LIFE in first place as holy!!!!

Healing of cancer is possible knowing about the cause of self creation and with the help of Mother Earth Cancer has no chance !!!!!

Soon I will do some webinars on the topic and you will be informed……

Healing for Depression: How hypnosis Can Heal Depression

Healing for depression can be accessed through self-hypnosis. You can yield excellent results whether you are feeling a touch of a sad mood or whether you suffer from depressive disorder. Mental health begins in the mind and the ability to heal through retraining the mind can be very effective. In some cases, people choose to augment their medicine therapy with hypnosis.

When to Seek Support

If you think that you are suffering from depression, then you might very well have a depressive disorder. You might find that your mood sinks to lows and you no longer find joy in things you used to love. You may gain or lose a significant amount of weight and you may sleep in excess or you might not get very much sleep at all. If your mood affects your life then you require support.

Depression Self Help

You can augment your treatment with self-hypnosis. This is a very effective approach because you have the benefit of reinforcing any type of therapy you choose. The medical community recognizes hypnosis as a viable option in the treatment of various conditions, including depressive disorder.

The benefit of using this approach is you are working from the inside out. Rather than having outside interventions influence your thinking, you take the reins. This is much more effective because you have intrinsic motivation coming from within.

Helping yourself is an important step in the process. The thoughts and feeling are yours and you must take control of them in order to stop depression in its path. Self-hypnosis offers a valuable tool that elevates your mood while addressing your depressive state.

Augmentation

Some forms of depression are quite severe and they may require medication due to chemical imbalances in the brain. Self-hypnosis can help medicine work well because you are more receptive to the treatment. You begin to focus on the biochemistry of the condition with some objectivity.

Elevated mood leads to proper balance of chemicals in the brain in many cases. You may find that medicine is unnecessary after using self-hypnosis to stop depression. This approach also helps you become more receptive to your therapeutic interventions and treatment plan developed by your doctor.

Choosing a Hypnosis CD

There are many options available in self-hypnosis recordings and it can be difficult to choose one for your specific needs and condition. You want to select an option that offers clinical experience merged with a natural talent for hypnosis. The combination is ideal for treating a condition like depressive disorder.

Debbie Williams brings extensive clinical experience in her hypnosis CD “Healing That Heavy heart found here - Healing for Depression. This composition is beautifully designed to help you work through your mind to overcome depressive feelings.

Duncan McColl was a renowned hypnotherapist who leaves an impressive legacy of healing through hypnosis for people to enjoy. His recording can be found here - Stop Depression. Other equally impressive recordings can be accessed here - Depression Self Help. Each one provides you the relief you need for your state of mind.

Any good natural remedies for anxiety attacks?

I deal with anxiety attacks and depression and would like to heal it naturally. Any suggestions?

I used to have anxiety attacks and still have them once in a while.

What helps me is:

1. Take long, deep breaths. It slows the heart beat. I used to feel a warmth throughout my whole body, this is normal.

2. Drink Orange Blossom (very hot) or Valeriane herbal tea. It helps relax before you go to bed.

3. Take a hot bath. It knocks me right out.

4. Listen to self-hypnosis tape. It saved me from insanity many times. It is called "Relieves Stress and Anxiety" and you can find it at www.thepotentialsunlimited.com

When I had surgery last year I panicked again because I had weird reactions to pain killers and I listened to it about 4 times a day. I was glad I still had it after 15 years !!!

5. Get into meditation and yoga classes. You will learn A LOT of relaxation techniques. Or you can get a book on it.

6. Self-help classes would also help. Panick attacks are the result of repressed emotions and I am pretty sure if you dig inside yourself you will find stuff that will amaze you.

My panick attacks were the result of me, as a child, not knowing in which kind of a mood my alcoholic dad would be when he got home.

7. As weird as it sounds, stay away from refined sugar and coffee.

8. Stay away from negative people.

9. Do physical exercise. It stimulates the endorphins in your brain, endorphins are the pleasure hormone that are released when you exercise, listen to music or do pleasant activities.

10. Find your passion. Me, it was martial arts. It kept me busy enough to stop worrying. Life is much better when you are working towards a goals that you have at heart.

Lastly, if all that fails, which I doubt, I recommend you see a doctor. Your hormones might need some help to be balanced. Even if they put you on medication, tell yourself that this is temporary and that you will not need it for long.

Nothing so much prevents our being natural as the desire to seem so. By François Duc de La Rochefoucauld Maxims1678 Find out about Depression Journal Topics

Timeline of United States discoveries

webelements.com/silicon/))

1831 Discovery of chloroform

Chloroform is a chemical compound known as trihalomethanes that does not undergo combustion in air, although it will burn when mixed with more flammable substances. Chloroform was first discovered in July 1831 by American physician Samuel Guthrie, independently a few months later by French chemist Eugne Soubeiran and then by German chemist Justus von Liebig.

1859 Discovery of petroleum jelly

Petroleum jelly, petrolatum or soft paraffin is a semi-solid mixture of hydrocarbons originally promoted as a topical ointment for its healing properties. The raw material for petroleum jelly was discovered in 1859 by Robert Chesebrough, a chemist from New York. In 1870, this product was branded as Vaseline Petroleum Jelly.

1873 Discovery of chemical potential

In thermodynamics, physics, and chemistry, chemical potential, symbolized by , is a term introduced by the American engineer, chemist, and mathematical physicist Josiah Gibbs in his 1873 paper A method of Geometrical Representation of the Thermodynamic Properties of Substances by Means of Surfaces.

1877 Discovery of Deimos

Deimos is the smaller and outer of Mars two moons. It was discovered by Asaph Hall in 1877.

1877 Discovery of Phobos

Phobos is the larger and closer of Mars' two small moons. It was discovered by Asaph Hall in 1877.

1891 Discovery of Amalthea

Amalthea is the third moon of Jupiter in order of distance from the planet. It was discovered on September 9, 1892, by Edward Emerson Barnard.

1899 Discovery of Phoebe

Phoebe is an irregular satellite of Saturn. It was discovered by William Henry Pickering on March 17, 1899 from photographic plates that had been taken starting on August 16, 1898 at Arequipa, Peru by DeLisle Stewart.

1908 Discovery of Seyfert galaxies

Seyfert galaxies are a class of galaxies with nuclei that produce spectral line emission from highly ionized gas, named after Carl Keenan Seyfert, the astronomer who first identified the class in 1943 although they were first discovered by Edward A. Fath in 1908 while he was at the Lick Observatory.

1910 Discovery of propane

Propane is a three-carbon alkane, normally a gas, but compressible to a transportable liquid. It is derived from other petroleum products during oil or natural gas processing. It is commonly used as a fuel for engines, barbecues, portable stoves and residential central heating. Propane was first identified as a volatile component in gasoline by Dr. Walter O. Snelling of the U.S. Bureau of Mines in 1910.

1912 Discovery of the smoking-cancer link

Dr. Isaac Adler was the first to strongly suggest that lung cancer is related to smoking in 1912.

1914 Discovery of Sinope

Sinope is a retrograde irregular satellite of Jupiter discovered by Seth Barnes Nicholson at Lick Observatory in 1914.

1915 Discovery of the Zener diode

A Zener diode is a type of diode that permits current in the forward direction like a normal diode, but also in the reverse direction if the voltage is larger than the breakdown voltage known as "Zener knee voltage" or "Zener voltage". The device was named after Clarence Zener, who discovered this electrical property.

1916 Discovery of covalent bonding

The idea of covalent bonding can be traced several years to Gilbert N. Lewis, who in 1916 described the sharing of electron pairs between atoms. He introduced the so called Lewis notation or electron dot notation or The Lewis Dot Structure in which valence electrons are represented as dots around the atomic symbols.

1916 Discovery of heparin

Heparin, a highly-sulfated glycosaminoglycan, is widely used as an injectable anticoagulant and has the highest negative charge density of any known biological molecule. It can also be used to form an inner anticoagulant surface on various experimental and medical devices such as test tubes and renal dialysis machines. It was discovered by Jay McLean and William Henry Howell in 1916.

1917 Discovery of Vitamin A

Vitamin A, a bi-polar molecule formed with bi-polar covalent bonds between carbon and hydrogen, is linked to a family of similarly shaped molecules, the retinoids, which complete the remainder of the vitamin sequence. Its important part is the retinyl group, which can be found in several forms. In foods of animal origin, the major form of vitamin A is an ester, primarily retinyl palmitate, which is converted to an alcohol in the small intestine. Vitamin A can also exist as an aldehyde, or as an acid. The discovery of vitamin A stemmed from research dating back to 1906, indicating that factors other than carbohydrates, proteins, and fats were necessary to keep cattle healthy. By 1917 one of these substances was independently discovered by Elmer McCollum at the University of Wisconsinadison, and Lafayette Mendel and Thomas Osborne at Yale University.

1925 Discovery of cepheid variables

Extragalactic astronomy is the branch of astronomy concerned with objects outside the Milky Way Galaxy. In other words, it is the study of all astronomical objects which are not covered by galactic astronomy. It was started by Edwin Hubble when, in 1925, he discovered the existence of Cepheid variables in the Andromeda Galaxy. This discovery proved the existence of a galaxy over one million light-years away and thus extragalactic astronomy was created.

1930 Discovery of Pluto

Following the discovery of the planet Neptune in 1846, there was considerable speculation that another planet might exist beyond its orbit. The search began in the mid-19th century but culminated at the start of the 20th century with a quest for Planet X. Percival Lowell proposed the Planet X hypothesis to explain apparent discrepancies in the orbits of the gas giants, particularly Uranus and Neptune, speculating that the gravity of a large unseen planet could have perturbed Uranus enough to account for the irregularities. The discovery of Pluto by Clyde Tombaugh in 1930 initially appeared to validate Lowell's hypothesis, and Pluto was considered the ninth planet until 2006.

1931 Discovery of heavy hydrogen

Heavy hydrogen is a stable isotope of hydrogen with a natural abundance in the oceans of Earth of approximately one atom in 6500 of hydrogen (~154 PPM). It was first predicted in 1926 by Walter Russell and later discovered in 1931 by Harold Urey.

1931 Discovery of cosmic radio waves

Radio astronomy is a subfield of astronomy that studies celestial objects at radio frequencies. While trying to track down a source of electrical interference on telephone transmissions, Karl Guthe Jansky of Bell Telephone Laboratories discovered radio waves emanating from stars in outer space while investigating static that interfered with short wave transatlantic voice transmissions. Thus, the field of radio astronomy was born.

1932 Discovery of the positron

The existence of positrons was first postulated in 1928 by Paul Dirac as a consequence of the Dirac equation and later discovered in 1932 by Carl D. Anderson, who gave the positron its name.

1932 Discovery of homeostasis

Homeostasis is the property of a system, either open or closed, that regulates its internal environment so as to maintain a stable, constant condition. It was first proposed and coined by Walter Bradford Cannon, a former professor and chairman of the Department of Physiology at Harvard Medical School, and popularized it in his book The Wisdom of the Body.

1933 Discovery of heavy water

Harold Urey discovered the isotope deuterium in 1931 and was later able to concentrate it in water. Urey's mentor Gilbert Newton Lewis isolated the first sample of pure heavy water by electrolysis in 1933.

1933 Discovery of polyvinylidene chloride

Polyvinylidene chloride is a polymer derived from vinylidene chloride. Its use can be found in water-based coating, the production of household items and industrial products. Ralph Wiley, a Dow Chemical lab worker, accidentally discovered polyvinylidene chloride in 1933.

1936 Discovery of elliptical galaxies

An elliptical galaxy is a galaxy having an approximately elliptical shape and a smooth, nearly featureless brightness profile. They range in shape from nearly spherical to highly flattened and in size from hundreds of millions to over one trillion stars. It was originally described by Edwin Hubble in his 1936 work he Realm of the Nebulae

1936 Discovery of the muon

The muon is an elementary particle similar to the electron, with negative electric charge and a spin of 12. It was discovered by Carl D. Anderson and Seth Henry Neddermeyer in 1936 while they studied cosmic radiation.

1936 Discovery of Vitamin E

Tocopherol, a class of chemical compounds of which many have vitamin E activity, describes a series of organic compounds consisting of various methylated phenols. During feeding experiments with rats Herbert McLean Evans concluded in 1922 that besides vitamins B and C, an unknown vitamin existed. Although every other nutrition was present, the rats were not fertile. This condition could be changed by additional feeding with wheat germ. It took several years until 1936 when the substance was isolated from wheat germ and the formula C29H50O2 was determined by Herbert McLean Evans and K.S. Bishop. The structure was determined shortly thereafter in 1938.

1936 Discovery of sodium thiopental

Sodium thiopental, better known as Sodium Pentothal, thiopentone sodium, or trapanal, is a rapid-onset short-acting barbiturate. It was discovered in the early 1936 by Ernest H. Volwiler and Donalee L. Tabern while working for Abbott Laboratories.

1937 Discovery of Niacin

Niacin, also known as vitamin B3, is a water-soluble vitamin which prevents the deficiency disease pellagra. Niacin was extracted from livers by Conrad Elvehjem who later discovered the active ingredient, then referred to as the "pellagra-preventing factor" and the "anti-blacktongue factor."

1937 Discovery of K-electron capture

Electron capture is a decay mode for isotopes that will occur when there are too many protons in the nucleus of an atom and insufficient energy to emit a positron. However, it continues to be a viable decay mode for radioactive isotopes that can decay by positron emission. K-electron capture was discovered by Luis Alvarez, who demonstrated it in 1937 and reported it in The Physical Review in April 1938.

1938 Discovery of fluropolymers

A fluoropolymer is a fluorocarbon based polymer with multiple strong carbonluorine bonds. It is characterized by a high resistance to solvents, acids, and bases. Fluoropolymers were discovered in 1938 by Dr. Roy Plunkett when he accidentally polymerized tetrafluoroethylene to form polytetrafluoroethylene.

1938 Discovery of animal echolocation

Echolocation, also called biosonar, is the biological sonar used by several animals such as dolphins, shrews, bats, and whales. The term was coined by Donald Griffin and Robert Galambos, who discovered its use by bats in 1938.

1938 Discovery of Carme

Carme is a retrograde irregular satellite of Jupiter. It was discovered by Seth Barnes Nicholson at Mount Wilson Observatory in California in July 1938.

1938 Discovery of Lysithea

Lysithea is a prograde irregular satellite of Jupiter. It was discovered by Seth Barnes Nicholson in 1938 at Mount Wilson Observatory.

1943 Discovery of streptomycin

Streptomycin is an antibiotic drug, the first of a class of drugs called aminoglycosides to be discovered, and was the first antibiotic remedy for tuberculosis. Streptomycin cannot be given orally as it must be administered by regular intramuscular injection. In 1943, Albert Schatz discovered Streptomycin.

1945 Discovery of promethium

Promethium is a chemical element whose existence was first predicted by Bohuslav Brauner in 1902. It was first produced and proven to exist at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) in 1945 by Jacob A. Marinsky, Lawrence E. Glendenin and Charles D. Coryell by separation and analysis of the fission products of uranium fuel irradiated in the Graphite Reactor.

1948 Discovery of warfarin

Warfarin is an anticoagulant and pesticide. It was initially used as a pesticide but was later found to be effective and relatively safe for preventing thrombosis and embolism in many disorders and is currently the most widely used anticoagulant worldwide. It was discovered by Karl Paul Link and chemists at the University of Wisconsinadison.

1948 Discovery of Miranda

Miranda is the smallest and innermost of Uranus' five major moons. It was discovered by Gerard Kuiper on February 2, 1948 at McDonald Observatory.

1948 Discovery of seratonin

Seratonin is a monoamine neurotransmitter synthesized in serotonergic neurons in the central nervous system (CNS) and enterochromaffin cells in the gastrointestinal tract of animals including humans. It was isolated and named in 1948 by Maurice M. Rapport, Arda Green, and Irvine Page of the Cleveland Clinic.

1948 Discovery of tetracycline

How can I make my project really unique?

OK so schools all around my city are doing this project on Canadian History; it's kind of like a competition because one project will win. You can pick any topic and I've picked the Depression in Canada. Most people are writing fake journals, doing a magazine or newspaper, doing interviews, etc. How can I use the topic that I have to make a really unique and interesting project? Thank you

Make a little web page and powerpoint
presentation.

How much pain they have cost us the evils which have never happened. By Thomas Jefferson Find out about Childhood Depression Journals

Abandoned Again - How We Repeat our Childhood in the Present

The woman on the couch looks up at me miserably, tears in her eyes, as she tells me about her most recent bad relationship. "I'm sick of choosing guys who aren't there for me. They seem great, they want me, they tell me how terrific I am, then either they have an affair, or turn on me once we are involved, getting that cold look in their eyes. I can see they don't care after all. I can't stand this. Why do I do this over and over?"

In my work as a therapist, I help people discover repeated patterns. Despite our conscious desire and urgent efforts to make our lives better, we end up feeling the same as we did as children, but the feeling of despair and depression can deepen if we see that we are simply repeating our abusive or abandoned childhood.

This may seem confusing to understand, but this is how it works: Rooted deep in the unconscious is a desire to make the story turn out right—to find someone who will finally come through and love us the way we want. But the pattern of repetition, until it is resolved, will cause us to choose people who will do exactly what was done to us as children. If you were abandoned, they will abandon you. If you were hurt physically, this may be what you experience all over again.

For instance, most women involved in relationships where there is domestic violence either were beaten as children, or observed it for many years. If you were verbally abused, you will find yourself hearing the same phrases and feeling exactly the same as you did when you were a child. There you are, thinking you have just found the love of your life, when a terrible feeling comes over you—"I have been here before," says the voice inside your head, a feeling of dread running through your body. It's not déjà vu; it is an unconscious repetition of the past.

There is good news about all this: You can change these old patterns. It takes time, awareness, determination, and work on your part, but it can be done.

How to help stop repeating abandonment and abuse in your life now:

1. First, you have to recognize you are repeating your past patterns. Become aware of a familiar, sinking feeling, or the feeling that you are a bad person, or not good enough, or feel awful about yourself. Ask yourself: is there something going on now that reinforces that feeling?

2. Consider your past patterns with parents. It helps to write down these patterns, as you can be objective about them if you see them on the page.

3. Write about being a child of about five years old; nine years old; 12. What was life like in your household? Who was there connecting with you, and how?

4. After making that objective list of patterns in family and in the past, write down any parallels between then and now, paying particular attention to feelings. Sometimes the action is different but the feeling is the same.

5. When you are drawn to a new person, get to know him better before getting involved. Spend time to find out how he treats you when he is having a bad day, or how he acts when you say no. How you are treated at the beginning of a relationship when you are not being pleasing or saying yes, when you make boundaries for yourself, is only a hint of how it will be later on.

6. Keep your need to be loved and accepted in balance with who the other person is and his or her needs. Take your time to find out more before getting too involved.

7. Write in your journal to become more aware of patterns, concerns, and actual events. You can refer back to them later. This documentation may clear up any future confusion about reality.

Why would this help? Any advice?

I had a bad childhood, I was emotionally abused by several people which I learnt to block out of my memory almost but growing up I developed extreme social anxiety to the point of not leaving the house and I have really low self esteem. I cannot talk to people and due to my past I have recurrent bouts of depression and suicidal thoughts.

I am now having psycho dynamic therapy which is helping me open up about my past but they have suggested I also write down every thought I have in a journal. Any ideas why this would help me? I don't like asking too many questions in therapy so didn't want to explore why this would help. How would writing about my past or thoughts I have now help my progress in therapy?

I'm glad your therapy is helping - please don't be afraid to ask about the writing - if it is something that you don't feel sure about. Sometimes it does help just to see the words on paper - it takes away a bit of the power that the words have over you. Quite often people write it down then burn it, or tear it into little pieces and flush it down the loo. You could share it with your therapist if you wanted, but you don't have to. It is totally up to you rather you do this or not.
Glad you are getting on OK and good luck for the future.
