3) Always take time out to relax. When you are feeling down it may be hard to be social or motivate yourself to do things, but taking a little time out for yourself each day will help you to make a list of all the things you enjoy doing and then you can plan to do something from this list each day.

4) When you are depressed, it may seem hard, but sharing how you feel and hanging out with someone you trust can help you get through the hard times.

5) Sometimes in a race to be ambitious  you may set goals which are almost unachievable for you and then end up feeling even worse when you do not attain them. Always try to set goals that are achievable for you, even if it's on a day by day, or hour by hour, basis. And after achieving each goal, don’t forget to reward yourself.

How do I look up my Mental health records?

Im 18 but when I was 14 I went to a residental treatment center, The paper work says I was diagnosed with Depression(Dont know which kind) and a eating disorder (nos i think). I was put on prozac. (im off it now) Where is that information now? Like what if i want to be back on medication or find a theropist and say i need help for depression if i dont have nothing to prove I really have it? Or is it still in the system? Are my doctor and theropist in the system to? What will be on my mental health records? Should my mom still have the records? Help
Oh and i was under franklin county children services ( fccs) so im not sure if my mom has any info.

franklin county in what state. If you remember the name of the therapist you were seeing you can request a release of all records that pertained to you. You can also ask for the records from the RTC you were in as well. If there was any agencies involved such as children services, or CASA, (guardian adlitem) and so on you can also ask them for their records. I say this because if you do not know the name of the mental health provider you seen it will be in the records of other agencies. i wish you luck and I also wish you well. God Bless!!

P.S.. If you decide you want to go back on medication, all you have to do is tell your current mental health provider about your history. It could be to your advantage to ask your new mental health provider to re evaluate you in the best interest of making sure you have had the correct diagnosis. What is the best self remedy of dealing with anxiety/depression?

I am normally a very happy person. I am always positive, and very religious. It seems that whenever I am affected with my health (like now I have oral thrush that is not going away and causing me to have a TERRIBLE dry mouth which causes me to worry excessively and panic), that's when it seems that I have the most anxiety/ depression. It seems more like depression with frequent panic attacks. I often wonder if my dry mouth is caused from this. But i have not had it in the past with anxiety/depression. Depression remedies?

I have been feeling very down lately, maybe becuase of the weather changing or other factors, I dont know. I was wondering if anyone knew of ways to cope or help with depression without having to take anti-depressants. I really dont want to take perscription medication. Thank you!

First you must diagnose yourself appropriately. The word "depression" is often misused and not understood. Bipolar Disorder Treatment Can Make All The Difference

Being bipolar and living with the illness means that you should have a bipolar disorder treatment plan in place. This usually begins to be formed from the time that a diagnosis of bipolar disorder is made. Strangely antidepressants are not normally included in bipolar disorder treatment plan for depressive episodes as they don’t tend to work very well.
Once the bipolar disorder treatment is underway the next step could be to begin cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) so that the sufferer can start to recognise what triggers their bipolar disorder and learn ways to avoid these triggers. Therapy of this form can be hugely successful if the sufferer is willing to try this type of bipolar disorder treatment. By being able to manage their different moods a bipolar sufferer is helping to reduce the number and severity of depressive and manic episodes. Alternative bipolar disorder treatments are also quite popular with yoga and meditation being two of the most widely used by sufferers around the world.
Although there is no known cure for bipolar disorder there are a number of ways that bipolar disorder treatment can help sufferers and there is constant research into finding more ways. It may seem as though there is nothing that can be done for someone who is bipolar but as you can see there are several options that sufferers can try to find which is the best bipolar disorder treatment for them.

Whats the best treatment for Borderline Personality Disorder?

I live in an area wereby resources are low and therefore get the feeling the treatment I am recieving is just not ideal for my kind of disorder and more suited to depression and anxiety patients who would otherwise be reclusive and housebound which I am not.
I have been attending a day hospital pshychiatric unit for five months, 4 days a week and once a week psychology counciling. The councelling is good but the rest I find dimeening and barely stretches the brain beyond kindergarten levels! It tends to be activities which are supposed to be 'distraction', but I somehow do not find it all direct /intensive enough.
I was on medication but can no longer take as I am pregnant.
I am desperate for recovery!

To tell you the truth, most Day Treatment programs are a colossal waste of time and amount to little more than babysitting. CBT and specifically DBT are the most effective treatments for Borderline Personality Disorder according to the research, however I have found a psychodynamic orientation which borrows heavily from CBT and DBT to be the most effective therapy. DBT is often taught in a group and if there is a DBT group in your Day Program that is worth attending. If you live in either Michigan, Texas or California or can affors admission to the Day program at either location that is specifically designed for trauma related illnesses you would be well advised to do so.
Forestview Hospital is the one in Grand Rapids, Michigan and Charter Oaks is the one in Dallas, Texas. The other is in Del Amo, California and i believe that is Charter Oaks as well. They are all supervised by Colin Ross and offer exceedingly good programming and expertly trained therapists.
Don't waste your time in a day program that offers little in the way of real therapy unless you are extremely self-destructive and your behavior may endanger your pregnancy or unless you are very prone to repetitive crises and need the daily sup[port a therapist can offer at a day program. Seek volunteer work instead and use your therapy sessions to process the interpersonal issues that arise there as the work will be more meaningful to you and you'll have the chance to interact with healthier individuals which in itself will give you more opportunity to grow.

Can long term stress and anxiety cause bad digestion and daily nausea?

Hello. My problem started with nausea. I was at work and thought I was having a panic attack and threw up. It has been 5 months since then and I have constant nausea,vomit sometimes, mucus in stools, migrains, anxiety, depression, feeling weak and just very unwell. I am only 19. I have had a barium test, 2 gallblader test, ct of the stomach, colonocopy, endocopy, and blood test. Everything has came back good, as they say. Before all this happend I had alot of stress, a new son, job i hated, house burned down and just life. 2 docs told me it prob. was depression or a mental break down. could long term stress mess your diestion this bad? Even after I sleep all night I wake up with nausea. I always worry the worst and I want to stop and take my life back. If someone has had this prob. or studies in this please share. /Thank you.

Hi, I've been having similar troubles after a huge amount of stress too - lost our home, our car was totalled, husband out of a job, numerous hospital and dental trips over the past 2 years, bankruptcy, and you name it - it's happened! lol Thank God life is getting back to good now though :o ) Trust Him and he will help you, I promise, His word is good!

Anyhow, I saw a therapist for the first time this week and she says that my nausea and gastroesophageal reflux is a stress response and that if I up my outlets - like bike riding, walking, dancing, and anything that I love that relieves stress - crafts, etc... that those symptoms will go away and I should feel better.

Try increasing your outlets - check out your local community for dance programs for beginners, or art/craft programs, pick a subject and start reading and learning as much as you can on it, just for fun! I've found the bookstore to be very relaxing and peaceful. The stomach pains/sickness should subside as you make yourself destress. When we were younger, stress relief came natural at school when we'd play, exercise, or hung out with friends - now it's like we have to make ourselves learn how to do it all over again :o )

You are totally not alone. I'm in my late 20's and this time of life is difficult for adjustments.

The solutions you find are more depressing than the depression you carry in your heart… Nobody explains you anything, nobody really knows anything.

I know how irritated you feel when you hear the many doctors and experts tell you that depression could be caused by this and that, without actually telling you your exact problem and more importantly, how to solve it.

When I was pregnant and I had lost my young cousin and my beloved mother-in-law in the same week of July, when my belly was starting to show and I was only thinking about my baby, I felt tremendous depression, but I was waiting a child… I could not give up.

The problems had only started with 2 deaths in the family that year… So many problems all at the same time… Everyone in my place was only depressed.

However, I started caring for my dreams and desperately sought a solution for my depression and fears. I was so insecure… I was always afraid that something bad would happen to me and my family again.

This was the beginning of my arduous path.

Even though my life was depressing, I was actually very lucky because I started to learn how to interpret my dreams. I followed the guidance of the unconscious that produces the dreams and cures our depression, giving us new life by developing our conscience.

If I were treated by a psychologist, I would have experienced many more problems. Of course the doctor would not be able to cure me because my problem was very serious, as I verified by interpreting my dreams myself.

I suffered a lot but I’m very lucky because I found health! And I’ve being helping so many people regain their health in the same way, that today I can only bless my suffering. It was worthwhile!

How many people in this world look for a solution for their depression but never find it? How many people spend a fortune and become dependent on a psychotherapist for their entire life?

I’m very lucky because the solution I found was the best one and I only spent money buying books that I studied with dedication because they saved my life.

please answer what is going on with me?

Im in recovery for anorexia and im doing well, but after i eat i always feel the need to throw up, i only used to throw up a few times if i binged, i havent done since being recovery but im scared i will or go back to old anorexic habbits

i also keep getting weird episodes that last 15-20mins i dont know what they are i get really sad and want to harm myself like commit suicide, self harm or throw up, i usually feel sick, have a headache and i hyperventilate until i feel like im going to faint but i never cry (even though i want to at times) and then about 10 mins after im fine and i go to being happy.

i get these usually once or twice a day what is this, is it a panic attack or anxiety or depression

please don't tell me to tell someone or get help, i dont have the time as im doing my GCSEs, i just want to know what is going on.
