Depression News Quotes:

I am reminded of the advice of my neighbor. "Never worry about your heart till it stops beating." By E.B. White Find out about Depression News

speak Good News

Speak Good News

Tired of being tired especially when you just finished your vacation? Has life lost its meaning? Waiting for the anti-depressant drugs to start working? Hoping for some good news? Want a change in attitude… try speaking good news today!

When you think about a new baby, a marriage, a new kitten, a good medical report, a promotion, a vacation, an anniversary, a birthday, a new car, a graduation, and or a family reunion? Do the super emotional feelings of giving sharing and love ring a good tone? When you hear these words, how does it make you feel? For most, hearing good news, brings a gift of joy to the heart?

What is it that you normally hear daily? Gasoline prices going up, a divorce, a bad health report, a shooting, a robbery, a bad economy, a job loss, cost of living increasing, a foreclosure, crime, loss of a relative and so many other depressing thoughts that cover the daily newspaper, magazines, and TV. It’s the main topic of conversation and gossip that most everyone is endlessly talking about.

We hear it when we get up, all through the day, while we eat and when we are going to sleep. It’s constant and just never seems to end. In fact, just when you thought how bad could it get, a breaking news story captures your attention. It’s always bad and negative news, and actually more craziness than you care to know. When does it all stop?

When is the last time that you heard any…good news? When is the last time that you heard of a good deed being done for someone else? A heartfelt story that left you welling up a bit, on hearing a great human-interest story that had a live happily they’re after ending? It’s enjoyable to share good news with others.

A parent and child reunited after years of estrangement, a survivor of a serious medical disease, or your best friend’s marriage that was heading to divorce court was miraculously reconciled, and they are living happily as newly weds.

Ever wonder why so many people are so negative in their attitudes, and on a perpetual prescription of anti-depressant drugs? The effects of what they see, read and hear are having a devastating affect on our society today.

Soooo, what’s my point now that I have you stirred up and thinking?

When all this negative news is captured and internalized by the reader, what is their first reaction to it all? Not surprising…better repeat it and tell someone else.

Just suppose…that you didn’t repeat it? I know what you are thinking…

But hear me out, what is the worst that would happen if someone might not know immediately, then what? With all the media coverage, how could one not know?

Besides, there are no such re-reporting awards! Does it make any sense to serve up another heaping portion of bad news to a person that is already on a depression overload? Remind you of some that you may know?

Changes in attitude with good intentions is healthy and a healing medicine.

Try this…Speak Good News. Try it for a day and see the improved results in not only your life, but also in the lives of others around you!

Speak good news? What the heck is that? Where in this crazy world can I ever find some good news to speak? ….Want to learn more about speaking good news?  Please visit my website to satisfy your curiosity. Speak the good news to others, and feel the gift of joy re-enter into your life. Need some joy today?

Depression News <h2>Depression News Best Information</h2>
How can a 4 year old have depression because she can't go to the school of her choice?

On the news today there is a case of a 4 year old who has "depression" because her local school has no room for her, and this is where her friends go. She has to go to a different school. I think the parents must be building this up at home instead of concentrating on being positive about the new school, and the new friends she will make. What do you think?
A doctor on the BBC said that a lot of these cases are caused by the feelings of the parents influencing the children, and that she has had to deal with parents who are trying to use the medical profession to get their children in the schools of their choice...wasting the time of overworked GP's.

I do recognise though that children can suffer from depression. There was a case of a 3 year little boy who saw his Father murdered, and was left alone with the body for days. He didn't speak for months afterwards and was clearly traumatised.

I gather that the parents actually like the school where she is. It is the child who clearly feels isolated and she did look pale and wan on the news. I am not sure it merited to be on the national news though. The press must have been short of material yesterday.

In my career I have met quite a few children who suffered from school refusal symptoms and usually it is because they cannot cope with the circumstances they find themselves in, the tasks they are given, or they are intimidated by classmates.
Parents who cave in are in for a long haul.
The most successful mother I know kept bringing back her daughter to school and refused to let her come home. Eventually the girl did settle in and now she is a highly qualified graduate.
The least successful was the mother who found all sorts of excuses for her daughter, who missed several years of schooling and now moons around at home doing nothing instead of trying to get a job.

The Depression News Quotes:

There are people who are always anticipating trouble and in this way they manage to enjoy many sorrows that never really happen to them. By Josh Billings Find out about The Depression News

An Introduction to What is Depression

This book is for the 'Average Joe' in this country who likes information given in an understandable way. You want it kept simple and you don't need to read about all the technical stuff behind the subject. Depression happens to the average Joe all the time and most of us who have it don't get treated for it. That's a shame because depression is one of the most treatable diseases. I hope that if you understand it and know that it isn't something to hide, cover up, or ignore, your can have the power to beat it.

At the very least, 30% of the American population suffer from a depression.  The economic cost is out of sight but the cost in suffering for those who are depressed can never really be counted. Depression can not only destroy persons suffering with it, but everyone around them who cares about them. A serious major depression can ruin a family if left untreated. This is really bad news! The good news is that there is quick treatment and relief available for depression sufferers.   However, the majority of people who get depressed do not get treated. We have now learned that depression is mostly due to a chemical imbalance or mix-up in the brain. These mix-ups can be treated with medications. The medications available now can help you save your life or that of someone you love. Depression is treatable, just like high blood pressure, diabetes, and an ulcer.  It is simply a matter of reaching out for help, getting the right medication, and following directions.  Think of this as like having a car that goes on the blink. You wouldn't ignore trouble signs like an engine light flashing and think you could just keep on driving. You would investigate what was going on, get someone with training to check out your car, and fix whatever went wrong.  Same thing applies if you develop a temperature over 102, are dripping with sweat, and become weaker and weaker. You know something has to be done, and done quickly.  It is exactly the same when you experience depression.  Something is terribly wrong and you must act. I used to tell my new clients to think of themselves coming in to see me for a tune up, not a major overhaul. You won't need the big overhaul if you take action quickly.

How do you know if you have depression?  There are some things that really stand out which can help you decide if a depression is going on.  It involves your mood, your thoughts, your appetite, your sleep, and your feelings of self esteem. It is not just the blahs or the blues. Everybody has a few days or more when they feel down and sad. This is different.  It's not like the normal experience of sadness you have when things go wrong or when you are disappointed and hurt.  This is an emotional pit you've fallen into which affects your family, your job, and your whole life. It's a horrible feeling of hopelessness, of failure, of knowing that there is no way to make things better. You actually do 'drag' yourself along, going through the motions at home and work, thinking that you would rather hide in a cave and avoid everyone.  If you are depressed you cannot just 'get it together', put a smiley face on, square your shoulders, and get a stiff upper lip. No matter how hard you try to lift yourself up, you can't. And it tends to get worse, not better.  If you don't get treatment, this can last for months or even years. Why put yourself through something this awful when the right medication can get you back on track, able to feel better quickly?

There are some facts that will help you agree that it is good to know about depression, understand the symptoms, and get the treatment which will help. Depression is not something that you have made up in your head. It's feeling "down" and "low" and "hopeless" for months at a time.

Depression can affect people at any age, of any race, any ethnic, or any economic group. It doesn't just happen to soft people and is truly an equal opportunity illness. It is not a form of weakness but is a serious health problem, like any other illness. It is not something which should be hidden or anything to be embarrassed about. The names of famous people who have suffered from depression like David Letterman, Mike Wallace, Terry Bradshaw, Wynona Ryder, Delta Burke, Tipper Gore, Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys, and so many more tell us that celebrities who seem to have all the breaks have suffered with depression. Depression is a thief. It comes into your life, steals your energy and self esteem, and whispers to you that you are worthless. It shoves you down deeper into the bottom of the pit where no angels want to go. It can drive you to actually think about suicide, getting it over with, and ending the agony which has made your life pure hell.

This book is intended to help you understand depression by giving you information that you will be able to understand. You will not have to have a Ph.D. to get through these chapters and by the time you have finished, you will know a lot.  After reading this paragraph you won't have to think about 'genetic implications' or such things as 'human leukocyte antigen'. You may even surprise yourself with how much you have learned about depression and how to deal with it. I hope you will feel comfortable reading and rereading chapters that seem to have real meaning for you. You are the reason this book has been written.

How yall good ol boys feel bout that there Bush feller and new regulations of his?

WASHINGTON - The Bush administration Monday proposed the most far-ranging overhaul of the financial regulatory system since the stock market crash of 1929 and the ensuing Great Depression.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080331/ap_on_go_ca_st_pe/fed_overhaul

What's your point? Bush and his administration are trying to do something to help the economy...too bad the liberals in Congress will never allow that to happen. If the evil Republicans managed to fix the economy before November it might cost the demoncrats the election. Just another sad example of how liberal demoncrats are truly looking out for the "common man". BTW ol is spelled ole...if you're going to pretend you're from the south at least get the spelling right.

Depression From Avatar Quotes:

To conquer fear is the beginning of wisdom. By Bertrand Russell Find out about Depression From Avatar

The Awareness of Metaphysical Laws and Principles Part 2

Awareness of Self

Most people identify the lower components of their microcosmic being as the Self. This is a misconception that results in suffering and pain in everyday experiences. It also prolongs soul-bondage to matter, to Maya, to the wheel of birth and rebirth. Buddhism, for example, teaches that there is no self in that which is ephemeral, and although exoterically, they deny the existence of a self within man, teachers of Vajrayana Buddhism do assert the existence of what they call "the Clear Light of the Void" which is correlative with the concept of the Self in Hindu Philosophy. This Self is independent of the lower principles within the microcosmic being of man. In Western Esotericism, this Self is called "the Monad," "the Virgin Spirit," or "the Divine Spark" issued from the Universal Supreme Being. It is a "fragment" or a facet of the Divine Universal Self, the Universal Being; and as such, it has all the qualities and attributes of its "Parent-Flame."

The One God is often described in Christian literature as omnipresent, omniscient, and omnipotent. To the Buddhist It is Unborn, Unconditioned, Unlimited and Unformed. It is the Tao, with which Lao Tse knew to be nameless. The Real, Divine Being within is our True Being. It is "man" created in God's image. In actuality, it is God individualized as man. Man's Real Self is perpetually attuned with the Divine Mind of the Supreme being and through that attunement, partakes of divine nourishment. Awareness of, and the identification with the Real, with Reality and Truth lies the secret of the Ages related to illumination, life, and power. Conversely, ignorance of man's true estate is the cause of spiritual death. It is a state of non-awareness of the verities of the Divine Self and Absolute Reality. Ignorance causes us to misapprehend the external world. We perceive it as solid and stable, whereas it is void and subjected to the Law of Change. In his book, The Inner Reality, Paul Brunton defines ignorance in this way :

"Ignorance means that you confuse the unreal with the Real, and that you take sense-impressions, thoughts, opinions, or visions to be the one permanent reality which is unchanging." (1952:174)

In contrast to our Real Ego, that which we call our self is an illusion. It is our consciousness deeming itself to be a separate being, a created creature. Our waking consciousness is an integral part of the ocean but it believes itself to be an individual droplet. The Aquarian Gospel considers this concept of the self to be an illusion that should pass away if one aspires to illumination, enlightenment, or salvation--it is insufficient to simply call "Lord, Lord . . . " (Matt. 7:22-23). The Aquarian Gospel, a manuscript derived from Akashic sources also claims that the lower nature of man, the carnal self is the devil within. It says that,

"The only devil from which men must be redeemed is self, the lower self. If man would find his devil he must look within; his name is self." (8:21)

Understanding and being aware of our Real Self is essential if we are to live and function constructively and creatively in the lower worlds as a divine being. Self-reliance, self-confidence, and self-expression take on a deeper meaning when these attributes are realized to be dependent upon the True Self and not to the false ego. Self-confidence is in reality God-confidence. Reliance on the false ego for motivation and inspiration creates unpleasant circumstances as well as the grotesque, obnoxious and repulsive sights and sounds that we see about us. Let us take "self-expression," for instance, as applied in the philosophy and cultivation of art. Every artist is more or less aware of this term. But the "self" they believe in and refer to is simply the content of their subconsciousness, which more often than not, is filled with psychedelic images, gruesome forms, phobias, neurosis, and unresolved energies. Most critics of the art world hold such "self-expressions," so-called artistic works in high regard. The standard of divine beauty it would seem--the expression of the true uniqueness of the Monad, as a facet of the Supreme Being, as was known in ancient Greece--has practically been forgotten by modern man who is materialistically-oriented. We can see from this that the aesthetical sense of a large portion of humanity has been degraded by ignorance of the true Self coupled with an impure subconscious and conscious mind.

Putting off the old man, the false ego, and putting on the new, the Higher Self, becomes a necessity if a utopian-consciousness is to be made manifest in man's mind and to appear as Heaven on earth. This is the Christian's long awaited Kingdom of God in which the vigil and the waiting are observed but not the laying of the foundation. It is the fact of man's dual nature that caused the Nazarene Master in the Aquarian Gospel to quip that,

"Man is the Truth and falsehood strangely mixed." (22:12)

It is incumbent upon the metaphysician to point out to the seekers the manner in which this may be achieved, in which the synthetic image of man may be shed, for most if not all of our social ills are derived from ignorance--from man's false identification with the unreal. Sacrifices of animals in ancient cultures and religions are outward, symbolical practices of the sacrificing of one's carnal self upon the altar of truth. Consorting with the false, and mortal principles makes it difficult for it to be sacrificed and to identify with the true. In the Corona Class Lessons, "Kuthumi" comments on this:

"The frailty of human reason is ever in its identification with the finite self. A sense of being entangled in the process of identification with the objects and experiences hinders the revelation of man's true spiritual nature." (1986:259)

Our present world-dilemma is actually a manifestation of the identity-crisis in man. The only antidote to this problem is in the principle of being centered, and living in God-Consciousness rather in the lower consciousness of the mind. About two thousand years ago we were exhorted by the Christ to seek that we shall find. After looking here and there, many still do not know what they are seeking or why. That which is sought for lies within and not without, and it is Truth that we seek that discloses to us our Reality, our True self. The quest for the Holy Grail in the Authurian legends is simply the search for one's immortal principle, for the Reality beyond the Veil of Isis. This truth emancipates us from mortal limitations, mortal conditions, mortal thoughts--mortality, in short. In teaching, healing and counseling the metaphysician has to stress the importance of this vital law. Most, if not all metaphysical techniques and principles depend on the right understanding of man's Divine, immortal nature.

FINDINGS

In this section we will discuss some of the various principles applicable to the metaphysical ministry as related to the themes mentioned in the previous chapter. As man never ceases to be a student of Nature, so the metaphysician never desist from learning the higher unseen causes that affects one's world, and the laws and principles whereby one may be a master of his world, of one's destiny. It would, therefore, be impossible to deal exhaustively with all of the principles and the finer points of Cosmic Laws that the metaphysician should be aware of, as there are many of such that are as yet to be discovered. We will instead discuss a few that we feel to be of vital importance to one's ministry.

The Immaculate Concept

Many people are besieged by depressive thoughts--not all of which are of their own making. For negative thoughts, the tempting demons that they are, may have an external source that attaches themselves to vulnerable persons. Occultism actually call these "larva." Thoughts are things. They are energy-patterns that possesses independent life of their own, and as such they may live outside of the force-field of their creator. According to psychics, these thoughts, or thought-forms, may appear in varied forms, in accord with the nature of those thoughts. Negative thoughts such as greed, for instance, may appear like a creature resembling an octopus with its many tentacles. Thoughtforms may attach themselves to people other than the creator of those thoughts, and they may have detrimental effects upon the psyche, and the somatic system--that is, if the thoughtforms are debased, negative, depressive, and destructive in nature. It is by being aware of this principle that we may exercise a certain power of good by using it constructively for the benefit of our fellow beings. Indonesian shamanism and Javanese Kejawen recognize these harmful larva that attaches themselves to one's aura, and engage in empowered shower-rituals called "ruwatan" to cleanse one's force-field from the presence of these quasi-beings and their destructive work.

It is apparent from the above that there are two points to be considered:

1) The protection of man against negative forces and thoughtforms.

2) The conveying of the Truth, the immaculate concept regarding man--the highest, divine thoughts and principles on Reality and the True Self to one's fellow men.

Regarding the first point, it would be important to recall the law that "like attracts like." The metaphysician should personally practice and educate his clients of the necessity of being pure in body, mind, and soul; and of thinking, feeling, and living constructively, creatively, positively, and divinely. This may effectively be carried-out by the correct knowing, identification and awareness of what constitutes the True Self. Purity and the positive state of mind acts as an etheric barrier to unknown sources of negative energies and forces in the forms of thoughts and feelings that seek to strike the unwary. Indonesian shamanism teaches of two forms of possessions, one by a living entity and this is called "kesurupan." The other by negative energies and this is referred to as "kesambet." The importance of protection against being kesambet is the reason why in the Eightfold-path of Buddhism we are taught to think and act rightly, in conformity to the divine purity of our innate nature. Another method of protection of great usefulness is to mentally create a white light surrounding the physical form. This acts effectively as a shield against the onslaught of negative thoughtforms, and mental and psychic attack.

The above principles implies that each and every one of us may be responsible for the many forms of crime in our society even though physically we may not have lifted a hand to cause any violence. Our unbridled fantasies and repressive emotions of a base nature are contributing causes of social felony and violence. For example, we may fantasize exterminating someone whom we dislike, and although not doing it in actuality, the thought lives on and tempts a poor weak soul who does listen to the "demonic voices" and thus initiates action. It is even probable that we are chosen to be the victims. Thus, externally, we may fall prey to our own thoughts and feelings; this is our inner reality taking shape and reflecting upon the world that we experience. We become a victim of circumstances by having created and putting the causes into motion in the realm of the mind. The Piscean avatar warned us of this principle by saying that to lust after a married woman is the same as committing adultery.

This brings us to the second point which is the converse side of the above. Holding the concept, the idea of our immaculate divine nature in our minds, by knowing and attuning with the Divine Mind, we tend to telepathically stimulate the minds of others as well, awakening them from their spiritual slumber. This should be reinforced by perceiving others not as they appear to be but what they are in Reality--the Divine Self. Our divine influence upon others is thus enhanced. No judgment and condemnation could occur in such a state and conflict is annihilated. With such a state of mind we radiate energy of a certain frequency that stimulates all with whom we come into contact. In India, for instance, the people intuitively know this and when the chance occurs, they would gather around holy sages for a "darshan." The negative side of this is that they end up worshipping images and divine messengers and not applying in their lives the Word of God pouring forth from their mouths--Jesus Christ was such an example. Nowadays more emphasis is placed on the importance of his person rather than on his teachings, which if they had been applied, would have long ago manifested Heaven on earth and triggered the "second-coming." The Nazarene Master had such a spiritual quality in his aura and mien, and he lived in such a manner that even the possessive entities recognized him as a "Son of God." Apparently, the magnetic waves radiating from his person were a little too intense for their liking.

From the above we can see how necessary it is to refrain from judging and gossiping about others, from perceiving their so-called weaknesses which are merely of the lower components of their being and thinking that they are real, whereas instead we should focus more on what is. Seeing perfection is a means of materializing it--it is having that intense faith built upon the foundation of Truth that has the power to move mountains to the sea; it is seeing the Divine Self made manifest in the physical world; to see the macrocosm, God's immaculate image, in the microcosm. This living idea influences spiritually, and telepathically, the lethargic minds who are unable to hold the vision for themselves. The professional metaphysician should establish his relationships with clients and students based upon such an insight, for it connects and unites his Higher Self with theirs. Divine Healing in a holistic manner then becomes an easy matter. To hold an immaculate concept of ourselves and others--on behalf of ourselves and others--is the task and onus of a metaphysical practitioner.

Metaphysical Healing

Too many therapeutical systems deal exclusively with the symptoms or effects of an inharmonious condition occurring within a person. Seldom do they consider the immaterial causes that bring dis-ease into manifestation. It is estimated that around 80% of our varied illnesses have their cause in the psyche--the emotional and mental being of man. This would indicate that medicine working exclusively upon mere symptoms and not treating the core of the problem is 80% ineffective in resulting in a permanent cure. This is not to infer that medicine proper is without worth as a therapeutical system, it is just that it has to include in its methods the proper evaluation and diagnosis of the psycho-states that results in ill-health--and indeed, advances are being made in the field of psychosomatic medicine. It is in this field that one begins to thread in the area of metaphysical healing, for this particular form of therapy is concerned with one's spiritual balance, with the state and condition within one's psyche. Spiritual health--the state of being in harmony with the universe, with the Tao--is the basis of physical health. In the years to come medical science will probe deeply into the subtle bodies, studying occult anatomy and physiology. This study, however, should be undertaken now by the metaphysician if he is to be an effective instrument of healing. The healing of others, and self-healing is a challenge to every individual, and it is the work of the metaphysician to inculcate the principles and techniques of health and healing to the populace.

Faith plays a prominent role in any system of healing. It would be accurate to say that without faith and the will to live, chances for healing is reduced by a large margin. In most "miraculous" healings, it is this spiritual quality of receptiveness which faith instills that allows the divine energies from the Universal Source to descend into the psyche to purify, and to energize the psychosomatic system. This is a principle that should be recognized by the metaphysician as he is too likely to believe that he is the sole instrument in any healing treatment. Patients are likewise in error should they consider that they were healed by a certain healer after having visited a whole line of doctors and healers. The healing process probably started a long time before it culminated in a healing-treatment given by a certain healer. The healer likewise develops arrogance and pride as a result of believing that s/he is the sole cause of the healing.

In the metaphysical healing process, the arousal of faith in the mind of the patient should be the first step. This principle was known by the ancient practitioners of theurgy and thaumaturgy. The Piscean Avatar, for instance, made it a prerequisite condition for those seeking his divine aid in returning a state of harmony back into their physical bodies. The role faith play in healing is one of the reasons why catalysts in the form of amulets and talismans that influence and transform the conscious and subconscious minds are sometimes effective in healing--as every Polynesian Kahuna and shaman knows.

Not every individual is easily healed. There may be various reasons why a healing may not take place. People get ill for various reasons and although in their conscious minds they may seek alleviation from their illnesses, but deep down inside their subconscious mind they may not at all be anxious to get well. This may seem to be paradoxical, nevertheless, this is a true state of things, and one that faces the challenge of the metaphysician to get to the root of the problem. Some of the possible reasons why people unconsciously militate against the amelioration of their health is that they desire the attention of others. Feelings of being unloved causes an emptiness in the heart and disrupts the natural frequency of the energy-centers in the etheric body. Being ill gives them a morbid sense of fulfillment in the attention that they crave that is being shown upon them. Ted Andrews in his book, The Healer's Manual, gives other pertinent reasons which we will not belabor here.

Cartoons similar to Avatar?

I just finished watching all three seasons of Avatar the last Air Bender and was wondering if anyone could suggest another cartoon that would appeal to an adult. I prefer cartoons that are broad in scope and story. Ive tried a few Japanese anime recently but the stories in the few I watched were either off the wall dramatic as to make it seem like a professional wrestling script where all the characters suffered from severe depression, or something pulled out of the mind of a 12 year old girl hopped up on cough medicine. Obviously not all anime or cartoons in general are like this, so help me out with a few suggestions! Thanks in advance

The Ghost in the Shell films and series is a mature/serious anime and very good as well as well regarded . ( I am having problems typing because I am laughing about the cough-syrup analogy you used - lol ! )

Famous Depression Photos Quotes:

Today is the tomorrow we worried about yesterday. By Author Unknown Find out about Famous Depression Photos

Recovering Charles - Chapter 5 Excerpt

I awoke and withstood the temptation.

It wasn't easy.

The television wanted to be on, and I wanted to hear how things had progressed overnight in New Orleans and the surrounding area. I wondered how many more victims had been found in attics or in submerged cars. Was my father among them?

How is Bernard holding up?

I showered, shaved, threw on my favorite pair of jeans and a New Jersey Nets sweatshirt, ate a bowl of Corn Pops, and grabbed my cell phone and camera. Then I set the cell phone back on the kitchen counter and walked out the door. Free from distractions. Free from expectations. Free from the man who wanted me to unplug my life and travel to his city in mourning.

Even four years after the attacks of September 11th, Ground Zero was still a powerful place to sit and absorb the ambiance. It was also a unique setting to capture human goodness on film. Foot traffic increased each year during the days leading up to the anniversary, and the mood was reverent, respectful, resolute.

While others snapped away without regard for the historic setting, I always asked permission, never intruded when it was obvious someone needed privacy, and always felt guilty no matter how friendly or grateful the subject was.

I walked around and chatted with a few tourists. What brought them to New York? Where were they on 9/11? What did they think of Mayor Bloomberg's plans for the memorial?

I watched people process the giant hole in the ground for the first time.

I watched a father take a photo of his daughter with a police officer on the viewing platform. It reminded me of the time Dad stopped an off-duty firefighter in a Dallas Sabarro's and insisted on paying for his lunch.

On previous trips I'd met some of the most fascinating people at the site that changed America forever. Survivors, neighbors, mothers and fathers of the fallen. I once met a young woman named Kellie whose childhood friend, Liz, had been killed that September morning. She carried in her purse one of the many letters Liz had written to her over the years. "I have every letter she ever sent me," Kellie told me. "They are a small piece of her."

I admired Kellie's spirit.

On this day I met a husband and wife from India who had made Ground Zero their top priority during their first-ever visit to the States. They knew no one who'd died, knew no one who'd survived, knew absolutely no one in any way connected with the tragedy. But they respected freedom and grieved for the slain innocent.

I asked if I could take their photo; they posed with somber eyes and mouths. They wrote their names on my notepad so I could spell them correctly later when I tagged the photo. I asked to shoot one last picture of them from behind. They each shook my hand and walked on.

I captured them strolling slowly away, holding hands. The woman's head resting on her husband's shoulder, her hand tucked in her coat pocket.

They disappeared.

I sat.

***

Not everyone in our Fort Worth, Texas, suburb had grass, but we did. Mom wanted grass and Dad wanted Mom to be happy. So when he designed our home, Dad included a top-of-the-line sprinkler system. Even during the driest of droughts, Mom had her grass. It was thick, dark green grass that made your legs itchy if you sat in it too long. Grass that looked like it had been stolen from Augusta National Golf Club in Georgia.

Fortunately for all of us, Dad liked cutting the grass almost as much as Mom enjoyed watching it grow from her reading chair on the top of the three-tiered deck on the back of the house. Dad pulled the mower from his custom-built shed every Saturday morning before the sun rose to its peak and the air became so hot it could melt the blades of grass together. He sometimes mowed it like a baseball diamond, creating elaborate patterns that made Mom smile.

Mom would watch from her spot, reading a book or knitting or just sitting with her eyes closed and a glass of lemonade in her hand.

And then the phone would ring.

Every Saturday, Grandma Fleek would call at 10:00 AM to check in. Every single Saturday. The phone would ring, but neither Dad nor I would dare to answer it. Mom would pick it up and disappear somewhere in the house. The calls were so important to both Mom and Grandma that Mom wouldn't leave the house on Saturdays for errands until the call came and ended. Even if Mom had spoken to Grandma four times during the week, which often happened, Grandma still called on Saturday morning. Even if Mom had inadvertently hurt Grandma's famously sensitive feelings, which also often happened, the call still came. It was their "make good" time.

And it always worked.

I was washing the car in the driveway one Saturday in June of 1990 as Dad made a careful, final pass around some landscaping stones. The mower was too loud for either of us to hear the phone ring, but at some point we both noticed Mom talking on the cordless phone from her chair.

I looked at my Swatch. It was 9:17 AM.

She stood abruptly. A few seconds later, she dropped her book and her hand went to her mouth.

The scream that followed was so loud we could have heard it over a thousand mowers.

Then Mom dropped the phone and fell to her knees.

Dad and I raced to her side.

Mom's voice trembled. "My mother, my mother."

Dad picked up the phone and was introduced to Nikki Van De Car, an officer with the El Paso police department.

Grandma was dead.

"What?"

"A fatal car accident, sir."

"Accident? Where?"

"El Paso. Two miles from her home, sir. I'm so sorry to make this call, to have upset your wife."

"When?"

"Early this morning. Three cars. Appears to be a DUI. Mrs. Fleek and the driver of the second car both died at the scene. Witnesses say the third driver, a Mexican citizen, lost control while intoxicated and ran a red light downtown."

"You mean an illegal?"

"The investigation is ongoing, sir."

"Are you sure it's her? You're absolutely sure? She never drives alone, never."

"There was a passenger, sir. Her neighbor, we believe. Mary Henry. She's stable at Thomason Hospital. It appears they'd been to breakfast about a block from the crash."

Dad opened the sliding glass door off the deck and stepped into the house.

"You've arrested him, right? What's his name?" Anger began to wedge its way between Dad's words.

"We'll speak further when you arrive."

"But there will be an arrest? There will be charges?"

"Tend to your family, sir, and we'll speak again soon. Again, my condolences. Our department's condolences."

Dad returned outside and looked down at Mom. I sat by her on the floor of the deck, stroking her hair and letting my own tears fall and merge in rivers down both cheeks. Every few minutes Mom looked up and gasped for air and tried to ask Dad a question.

"We'll leave today," Dad said to the officer. "Where do we go?"

"The remains will be held at Thomason. We'll need you to formally identify-"

"Of course."

The officer gave Dad her contact information, repeated her condolences, and hung up.

Dad and I helped Mom into bed. He kissed her forehead and repeated, "I'm here, it's OK, I'm here. It's all going to be OK. Shhh."

Later Dad left us alone while he made the travel arrangements. I sat on the side of Mom's bed, just as she had sat on mine almost every night when I was a child.

I wanted to cry when Mom told me she'd bickered with Grandma on the phone that Tuesday. She'd accused Grandma of trying to guilt her into planning an extended visit to El Paso that summer.

"Maybe we won't come at all this year," Mom had snapped.

"Your choice. You know where I am," Grandma answered.

Those were the last words they spoke to one another.

Mom cried on and off all afternoon. She asked questions I didn't know the answers to. She asked questions no teenager should ever have to know the answers to.

The trip to bury Grandma next to Grandpa passed in a blur. The funeral was a short and simple one. Mary Henry was still recovering at the hospital, but her three children came to honor Grandma. A few friends from church and the seniors' center also came. Both of Grandma's sisters lived in Michigan and neither one was healthy enough to travel.

Of course Grandpa had been dead for years, and like Dad and me, Mom was an only child. There was no one else.

We were home and cutting the grass again before any of us had time to process the accident and consider life without Grandma, without the Christmas fudge, the hugs that smelled like vitamins, the phone calls to share her silly knock-knock jokes.

Mom didn't sleep well after the trip. She had nightmares and struggled with a toxic blend of depression at being orphaned and anger at the man who'd killed her mother with his truck and a dozen beers.

Dad finally suggested she see a doctor to get help sleeping. "The sooner we get you sleeping well, back in a routine, and comfortable, the sooner you can get back to school. The kids miss you, honey."

Dad also asked her to see a counselor who could help her learn to live with her new set of emotions.

When therapy didn't work, they tried antidepressants. When the pills didn't work, they tried new pills. The doctor's kept writing prescriptions and Dad kept filling them until Mom could have slept through Desert Storm.

She was practically dead when she slept and only slightly more alert when she was awake. Meanwhile the school told Dad she could take as much time as she needed. Her friends suggested "more aggressive" treatment for the depression, having no idea that her dependence on the pills was becoming the greater concern. Dad didn't care how it happened. He just wanted to save her.

I just wanted my mother back.

Where was "White Angel Breadline, San Francisco" taken?

The famous Dorothea lange photo of a man caught up in the hopelessness of the depression is one of my favorites. i was wondering if anyone knew where in San Francisco it was taken? I'd like to go there and get some mdoern day photos; I love comparing old and new photos of the same place.

From Dorothea Lange site: http://www.artnet.com/artwork/423940666/911/white-angel-breadline-san-francisco.html

"In 1933 Lange took one of her most celebrated photographs,"White Angel Breadline". Titled after a San Francisco widow, Lois Jordan, who became known as the "white Angel" when she established a soup kitchen to feed the needy and hungry."

A Search for Lois Jordan, the "White Angel" who ran the soup kitchen turned up this site....

http://books.google.com/books?id=zT6AABS0McAC&pg=PA68&lpg=PA68&dq=%22white+angel%22%2Blois+Jordan%2Bsoup+kitchen&source=web&ots=7DriveyLTo&sig=CNJ-ne-JOsdbr73-peOIemaHk_U&hl=en

On page 68 it says:
"The effects of the Great Depression in San Francisco can be seen in this J.K. Piggott photograph of the White Angel Jungle. "The Jungle." LOCATED ON THE EMBARCADERO NEAR FILBERT STREET, was a soup kitchen. The self-proclaimed "white Angel" was Lois Jordan, a wealthy woman who served as many as 2,000 men a day on the principles of faith and no red tape. For supplies, Mother Jordan depended entirely on unsolicited donations of food and money"

Soooo....the closest I could get to the actual location is The Embarcadero near Filbert St.
Hope this helps!

EDIT:
Found more info on this site..

http://wjdglover.blogspot.com/2007/04/thursday-26th-april-2007.html

(scroll down to "The White Angel of San Francisco...)

"Here at the foot of Telegraph Hill, from June 1931 through September of 1933, one woman carried out her own plan to help. Her name was Lois Jordan, the soup kitchen she set up on Abe Reuff's junk-filled lot, bounded by the Embarcadero and Battery, between Filbert and Greenwich, became known as the White Angel Jungle."

I also found this very short video clip of White Angel Jungle....

Robert Burns Love Poem: a Red, Red Rose

Robert Burns, a poor man, an educated man, and a ladies’ man, is representative of Scotland, much like whisky, haggis, bagpipes, and kilts. He lived a life shortened by rheumatic heart disease, 1759-1796, but his life journey through poverty, informal education, disappointed love, nationalism, and literary and financial success can be identified by all Scots and common men the world over. He has become almost a national symbol of all things Scottish. His life is like a love story with a happy ending.

The Poet, Robert Burns

Robert Burns’s family raised seven children on sparse, rented farmland on the west coast of Scotland. The family cottage still stands as a proud tourist attraction. The family farm was not successful and the family moved from farm to farm. Life on the farm in western Scotland was harsh and Robert worked long hours with his father.

Burn’s father recognized the value of education and he managed to hire a local teacher to tutor Robert. He was an extremely bright student, mastering Shakespeare, current poets, French, Latin, philosophy, politics, geography, theology, and mathematics. His father read the Bible during the evenings around the cottage fireplace and Robert became an expert on the Bible and a devout Church member.

Robert Burns wrote his first poem at age 15. The poem was called “Handsome Nell” and was about his first love for a girl named Nellie Blair. Throughout his life, Burns was a charming and witty man, attracting the attention of numerous women. A dozen or more women can be identified as the inspiration for various poems. Burns wrote many famous love poems, including “A Red, Red Rose” and “One Fond Kiss.”

Here’s an excerpt from “Handsome Nell.”

“O once I loved a bonnie lass,

Aye, and I love her still;

And whilst that virtue warms my breast,

I’ll love my handsome Nell.”

Burns, in a later comment on this poem, stated that he had “never had the least thought or inclination of turning poet till I got once heartily in love, and then rhyme and song were, in a manner, the spontaneous language of my heart.”

The Turning Point

In 1786, at age 27, Robert Burns went through a major turning point in his life. He suffered a disappointing love affair with Jean Armour, who was pregnant with his twin sons. The local community and Armour’s father were outraged by the affair and her father rejected Burns’s offer of marriage.

Dejected and depressed, Burns made plans to leave Scotland and sail to Jamaica in the West Indies. To finance the trip, Burns submitted a volume of his poetry for publication.

The publication of 612 copies in a simple, unbound volume was called “Poems, Chiefly in the Scottish Dialect,” also sometimes known as “The Kilmarnock Edition.” The poems were well received in Edinburgh by socialites who were enchanted by the poems and amazed that a poor farmer could write so well.

So, instead of planning his escape to a new world, Burns planned a trip to Edinburgh. His confident manner, ingratiating style, and his obvious wit and intelligence brought Burns popularity and admiration. Soon, a second publication of his work was executed in Edinburgh.

The Growing Popularity

During his stay in Edinburgh, Robert Burns met printer James Johnson, who planned a project to print all of the folk songs in Scotland. This project enthralled Burns and embarked upon a journey throughout Scotland to collect as many folk songs as possible. Burns collected over 300 songs and wrote a few himself, including “A Red, Red Rose.”

One of the results of his travels throughout Scotland was that Robert Burns ingratiated himself to everyone he met and he rose to national prominence and popularity.

The collected songs were published by Johnson in six volumes and by George Thomson in a five volume set.

Another happy outcome of this turning point in Robert Burns’s life is that he was able to return home and marry his beloved Jean Armour, now with the blessing of her family.

Robert Burns continued to collect and write songs for The Scots Musical Museum, an anthology of traditional Scottish lyrical poems, until his untimely death from rheumatic heart disease in 1796.

Within a few years of his death groups of Robert Burns’s friends and fans gathered to promote his memory and to celebrate his life. By 1801, five years after his death, groups met on the anniversary of his death, but later they began to meet on the anniversary of his birth, January 25. Now there are many Burns clubs and societies who celebrate his memory with dinners, including haggis, and readings of his works.

The Poem, “A Red, Red Rose”

One of the most famous songs that Robert Burns wrote for this project and first published in 1794 was “A Red, Red Rose.” Burns wrote it as a traditional ballad, four verses of four lines each.

“A Red, Red Rose” begins with a quatrain containing two similes. Burns compares his love with a springtime blooming rose and then with a sweet melody. These are popular poetic images and this is the stanza most commonly quoted from the poem.

The second and third stanzas become increasingly complex, ending with the metaphor of the “sands of life,” or hourglass. One the one hand we are given the image of his love lasting until the seas run dry and the rocks melt with the sun, wonderfully poetic images. On the other hand Burns reminds us of the passage of time and the changes that result. That recalls the first stanza and its image of a red rose, newly sprung in June, which we know from experience will change and decay with time. These are complex and competing images, typical of the more mature Robert Burns.

The final stanza wraps up the poem’s complexity with a farewell and a promise of return.

“A Red, Red Rose” is written as a ballad with four stanzas of four lines each. Each stanza has alternating lines of four beats, or iambs, and three beats. The first and third lines have four iambs, consisting of an unstressed syllable followed by a stressed syllable, as in da-dah, da-dah, da-dah, da-dah. The second and fourth lines consist of three iambs. This form of verse is well adapted for singing or recitation and originated in the days when poetry existed in verbal rather than written form.

A Red, Red Rose

by Robert Burns

O my luve's like a red, red rose.

That's newly sprung in June;

O my luve's like a melodie

That's sweetly play'd in tune.

As fair art thou, my bonnie lass,

So deep in luve am I;

And I will love thee still, my Dear,

Till a'the seas gang dry.

Till a' the seas gang dry, my Dear,

And the rocks melt wi' the sun:

I will luve thee still, my Dear,

While the sands o'life shall run.

And fare thee weel my only Luve!

And fare thee weel a while!

And I will come again, my Luve,

Tho' it were ten thousand mile!

Heavy thoughts bring on physical maladies; when the soul is oppressed so is the body. By Martin Luther Find out about Depression Photoshop

Beginners Photography - How To Use Creative Auto Mode On Your Digital Slr!

In previous Beginners Photography articles I described the Automatic Modes of your Digital SLR. There will be times when the Automatic Modes are useful, but not quite giving you sufficient control over your image. This is where Creative Auto mode enters the equation. Whilst Creative Auto doesn't give you total control, you are able to adjust elements such as brightness, flash, background sharpness and drive modes.

The setting can be found on your Shooting Mode dial as the letters 'CA'. Changes are made via settings on the LCD display. These, in turn, are adjusted by using the camera's Multi-Controller (to highlight the function to be changed) and the Quick Control/Main dial (to scan through the options). Below are the options available from the LCD screen.

Flash - You can set flash to Auto, On or Off. In Auto, flash will fire whenever the camera determines there is insufficient light for the exposure. To fire the flash for every shot (e.g. when filling in shadows) choose the On option. The Off setting will prevent flash from firing.

Background Sharpness - This allows the camera to select a larger or smaller aperture to influence the depth of field. A small aperture (such as f/22) results in greater background sharpness. Moving the index point to the right gives you a sharper background, and to the left produces more blur.

Exposure - If pictures are lighter or darker than you want, select exposure setting. Moving the point to the right increases exposure, producing a lighter image. To the left exposure is reduced with a resultant darker image.

Picture Style - Choosing this setting allows you to affect the sharpness, contrast and colour saturation levels. Four Picture Styles are available. Standard is most commonly used to achieve a sharp, vivid picture. Portrait produces smoother skin tones. Landscape produces vivid blues and greens. Monochrome can be chosen to shoot in black and white.

Quality - This setting allows you to adjust the quality of the JPEG image, or to choose RAW format for ultimate quality. RAW produces larger files, but allows for intense levels of adjustments in post-production. You can refer to my previous Beginners Photography articles related to Photoshop post-production techniques.

Drive Mode - This allows for three options. With Single-shooting, the camera takes one single shot when the shutter has been fully depressed. In Low-speed continuous shooting (sports or action shots) the camera continually takes photos until you release the button. The rate of photographs taken varies from camera to camera (a Canon50D, for example, takes some three frames per second in this mode). In Self-Timer the shot fires around ten seconds after the shutter is depressed. This allows you to get in the picture yourself, but is also useful for Landscape or Macro work, in conjunction with a tripod, to prevent camera shake.

So hopefully you can see that, once you are using Creative Mode, you are beginning to assert some influence on the resulting image - rather than using full Automatic Mode and allowing the camera to dictate. For beginners, photography can be about trial and error, and the beauty of digital is that it doesn't matter how many attempts you need to get it right - any images that are not up to standard can be deleted later.

I photoshop my report cards....is there a way my parents can find out?

my parents NEVER talk to my teacher, They NEVER get calls from school and they cant tell that i photo shopped my report card, but will they ever find out otherwise even though the never communicate with my teachers?

p.s im not a bad student i just did it because i didn't want to upset my mom since shes going through depression now, my average was a 68 and i changed it to 81, and the reason that im doing bad in school is probably because my 7 years old sister got diagnosed with cancer a few months ago ... and thats my my mom is depressed and stressed

i don't think they will ever find out if you keep it a really tight secret. however, there is no guarentee. If your teachers randomly phoned home one day to talk about your marks, then that would be a bit of a problem. but seeing how they haven't phoned home yet, they probably arent the kind of teachers that chases after their students (:

i understand that you're doing it cause you dont want your mom to get worse, but I think if she finds out she might be really disappointed and upset. so be careful & good luck! and maybe try a little harder at school so that in the future you might not have to photoshop your marks !
xoxo

Sadness Depression Jesus Quotes:

To conquer fear is the beginning of wisdom. By Bertrand Russell Find out about Sadness Depression Jesus

How To Overcome Depression Through Faith

How To Overcome Depression Through Faith

Let's face it, we all get depressed at times, it is only being human. However, as with all things, when it becomes excessive, depression, characterized by erratic mood swings, loss of interest in hobbies and a generally sad demeanor is very detrimental to our overall health.

As damaging as it is to our general well being, it is quite alarming that most of us do suffer from this ailment and it is even more frightening that many people have been diagnosed as being clinically depressed. Is there hope? Most of us might ask.

Yes, there is.

It is summed up in one word; Faith.

And what is Faith?

Well, According to Heb 11. 1; "It is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not yet seen", in lay man's terms, it is believing in what you can't necessarily see, feel or touch but knowing that it is there and will be beneficial for you.

Take for example; remember when you may have fallen of your bike as a kid and after your mom nursed the bruise she tells you "let me kiss it so the pain goes away..."?

Well as adults, we know that didn't necessarily make the hurting stop...per se, but in being told that, as kids we automatically believed "Well, if mommy says it'll go away by kissing it, then I believe it will..." The trick is the second part of that thought is what made it happen! Believing that what mom said she'd bring about will happen!

Evidently, kids in their innocence and supposed naïveté really are the group of humans who possess the most natural ability to abide by faith. We all had this gift at some point but, well, as we age and experience trying times in our lives, sadly the magic dissipates, leaving room for such negative forces as depression, doubt, self-hatred, you name it.

It's no wonder Jesus said "To enter the Kingdom of heaven, ye must be like little children..."

The same Man went on to say in Luke 17:20-21: "The kingdom of Heaven is within you"

Wow...what a statement!

The author of "The Power of Positive Thinking" Dr. Norman Vincent Peale analyzed this verse and states that it means "We as humans, the images of God, have everything within us to make our worlds and lives better and all we want it to be!" Hey, it's no error that Psalm 82:6 says: "For ye are gods..."

Now as powerful as faith is and as necessary as it is to overcoming depression, it needs to be exercised wisely to be strengthened.

Here are some tips:

1. Always act like it is impossible to fail, believe that it always works.

2. Pre-condition your mind to success in all things.

3. Try, really try! Think, really think! Believe, really believe!

You are what you are and will be where you want to be based on your thoughts.

Admittedly, it may not always be easy, but that is what life is all about and one comforting fact is God has promised in His word, 1 Corinthians 10:13: "No temptation (problem) has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted (tested) beyond what you are able, but with the temptation (problem) will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it."

Think on that, strengthen your faith with the tips above and you too will soon be overcoming depression.

Tell me. . please?

life,love,passion,sadness,Hate,sleep,depression,death, music,math,art,supernatural,broken hearts,tears,the universe,Jesus,The crucifixion,

. . . tell me about God.

Why do bad things happen?
How can i help?
Why am i here?
If heaven is so grand why doesn't god just kill us all so we can live in peace?
Do we relive our lives more than once but in another body?
Why? Why is this happening?
will the world end soon? How?
will we kill ourselves or will we kill each other or will the ozone layer break?
will the world end in fire or ice?
what are clouds?
why are the leaves on the trees green?
Why am i listing to rap?
no, no, this isn't happening! You CAN'T! stop! why? why now? WHAT'S WRONG WITH ME?

Please! please please please help me. . . thank you

You have posed one of the greatest challenges to my knowledge, yet you have also peeked my interest highly.

I will answer your question in the number of which they are asked.

1. What is bad? All things[science aside] have an opposite reaction, so what is bad is some way or another good. There isn't always the same outcome though, that good reaction could always be bad to someone else, and so forth. It is all in how we choose to deal with these problems. We must decide to stay who we are regardless of what happens.

2. Don't despair, never fall into league with those who commit evil. Those who are evil are weak because they cannot rely on a single body of their kind, they always spread through force and manipulation, halting the creation of otherwise good people. Don't let their weakness corrupt you, you are you and no one thing or person should ever be allowed to govern your personality, or your destiny, you choose.

3. You are in this world, this plane of existence, because you are. You have made it here, have had the strength to be, and so you shall, there is no mystery behind all of these things, there is only being, you are here, because YOU not others have made it so, before physical sense you chose purpose, and that purpose is to continue creating your destiny. Which might also mean not even listening to me. Interesting isn't it?

4. Many others would wish to argue my points but, I will answer this as well as is possible. The god you know, the great salvation you know, is there in your destiny, only because you choose to believe it. On this plane of existence, there are different rules than on the other two or three realms. God is the false symbol of heaven because one man chose to believe in the lies of a prophet. Because of this he tried to spread it to another, asking what there purpose is. This new believer keeps the chain going, so in reality, God exists only because people chose to make him exist, none of these people have learned the truth...yet. Don't fret however, not all is grim, heaven and hell, in some shape, still exist, but I will explain that. These two celestial bodies are not created by us, or by any deity because they are too true, too essential to existence, nothing can have one dimension. I have no where near the intelligence to explain it properly, but I will try to give examples of the realms. In the middle, there is our plane, our home. It is the choosing realm, we are our own fate here, no matter how many argue the point, everything is our choice, although that choice can only be done without breaking the limits of its existence.[you can't automatically say you will build a quantumn reactor and just do it right now, the limit of that choice is just to work towards that goal.] In the choosing realm, we are the body of existence,[we is any form of sentience and possibly otherwise throughout the universe] we create and destroy what lies before us, at least in time. The choosing realm has no effect on the other realms. The realm of salvation is the heavenly body all seek, but none understand, we hardly understand our own as it is, but I will try to tell my comprehension. Within the heavenly realm, our choices never conflict with anything, they simply become what they are meant to be. In that realm, that quantumn reactor that has to be studied...is simply there when chosen to be, without having to follow through to the limit of that choice, because the choices made in the heavenly body are limitless they have no boundaries. The heavenly body has influence over ours, the figure of all things that was first in this heavenly plane chose he wanted a passage to the third realm, hell, our realm is filled with what it is because the choice mad e had no limits, regardless of wether or not there is a scientific explanation to ther beginning of all things, science is there only because we chose it. To say the least, heaven is a place with limitless choices. In hell, there is no choice, there is no action, there is oblivion, a state of eternal unconsciousness, never even realized, it is an endless void filled with nothing, and always will be. Hell is LIMIT. It has no effect on us, but it is the source of our fear. We affect it.

5. If you choose to go to the realm of limit, then you do not, but if you choose to go to the realm of limitless choice, then you can choose to do so, sometimes you choose to remember past lives, other times you may have chosen to be a completey new person who makes different kinds of choices with new memories.

6. It happens because we chose it.

7. If we make it so, then yes, the world will be destroyed.

8. By continuing this self destructive path of christianity and untrue faith with balancing science in, we will choose as a whole to kill ourselves.

9. All of each put together, because we choose to believe in self-destruction.

10. The world will end in all things known, without regard for what they are.

11. Evaporated, condensed puffs of water.

12. chlorophyll

13. You chose to, because it brings you a relief of what something of you wanted.

Lastly, there is nothing wrong with you, you are special, you are wise, and you have to be strong, be you, the outside world is your choice. I am your shield and sword...because I chose to be.

My Depression Jesus Quotes:

We are more disturbed by a calamity which threatens us than by one which has befallen us. By John Lancaster Spalding Find out about My Depression Jesus

Depression Made Me Its Slave

I was watching a television program when a commercial break began explaining all the signs of depression. Without even knowing what was happening to me I felt myself being pulled into the description of hopelessness and fear. It was like a huge life-zapping suction cup that grabbed my attention and pulled at the very fiber of my thinking chaining me to everything that was wrong with my life.

Moments later the voice that directed all of my emotions and bunched all my pain into one massive ache explained why I needed to deaden the pain with anti-anxiety medicine. I was in the throws of depression; it was if the writers of the advertisement knew exactly how I was feeling. Suddenly a Spirit light entered my thinking and pulled me out of the depths of pain and instructed me that Depression was my master and I had become its Slave.

The voice of depression gnawed at a young mother's conscience pulling every thought of negativity and demanding a repeat performance of everything that she did wrong as a mother. Her three and a half year old daughter was still not potty trained. Her son was surfing the net and was looking at a pornographic site. Just yesterday she found out she was pregnant and now the list she had composed over every failure she felt as a parent surfaced and wrestled her to the ground in tears. She couldn't be a mother again!

An elderly man had been alone for years and he was desperate to find someone to love him again. In his anxiety he played with thoughts of who would want him now. He was old and worn out and even his family didn't have time for him. How could he find someone who would want to share his life with him? Every waking thought pulled at his mind and brought him to his knees reminding him constantly of his loneliness. Depression had captured him and brought him to despair with thoughts of suicide.

A woman sits before her computer and tabulates a pile of bills that are waiting to be paid. She looks at her bank account and then once again at the bills and realizes that no matter what she paid, she wouldn't have enough. Her head bounds low and a darkness of depression spreads engulfing her thinking with thoughts of hopelessness. No matter how hard she works she will never find enough money to pay all the bills.

Satan captures the minds of those who refuse to acknowledge there is a God. There is no hope for people who don't have faith. There is no future for those who depend on themselves alone without God. When you are not aware that you are fighting a spiritual war inside your head then you are mastered by Satan and held captive to negative thinking and depression.

Matthew 13: 14&15, "So the prophecy of Isaiah applies to them: 'This people will listen and listen, but not understand; they will look and look, but not see, because their minds are dull, and they have stopped up their ears and have closed their eyes. Otherwise, their eyes would see, their ears would hear, their minds would understand, and they would turn to me, says God, and I would heal them.'"

Too many people today are unaware of the unseen spiritual realm of heavenly beings surrounding our present day world. Beings that are talking constantly in your subconscious telling you that you are a loser. Voices condemning your every thought and telling you that you will always be a failure. These Demon voices relish pushing people into the darkness so they can make them slaves to hopelessness and fear.

When you place your faith in God then you begin to see the truth about the voices that captivate your mind. The Bible has story upon story of people who have been influenced by demons. God sent his only son to save people from these demonic forces. Jesus died for our sins so we would have the Holy Spirit who fights for those who surrender their lives to Him. People who have the Holy Spirit know it is a voice of positive thinking. A voice that gives inspiration, guidance, and wonder working power.

When you understand what you are fighting then you are able to break free and win the battle over your mind. Your eyes begin to see and your ears begin to hear the voice of love.

Matthew 13: 16, "As for you, how fortunate you are! Your eyes see and your ears hear."

Jesus brings us to a new light of understanding. He lifts the veil covering up the game of life that teaches us the difference between right and wrong and shows us the evil we are fighting against. He tells us about how temptation can lead us to over spend. He sets us free to believe in miracles by promising that He will divinely intervene on our behalf to help us meet our financial needs. He gives better paying jobs and promotions.

He inspires parents on how to teach their children. He helps them not to keep a list of wrongs of what their children have done and to never give up on them. He lets them enjoy their families by living one moment at a time. He inspires a love that surrounds a family and gives them the strength to face each problem.

He gives hope to the elderly. He inspires older men and women to teach Bible classes. He gives them hobbies that they enjoy. He takes the hand of the aged and guides them down paths to help them mentor the young. No one is ever alone because God surrounds each single person's life with love and a friendship that will never end. He loves people and He wants them to win the battle over evil that conspires to separate them from the joy of following Jesus' plan for their lives.

Matthew 11: 28-30, "Come to me, all of you who are tired from carrying heavy loads, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke and put it on you, and learn from me, because I am gentle and humble in spirit; and you will find rest. For the yoke I will give you is easy, and the load I will put on you is light."

People today allow depression to rule their lives. They go to doctors to deaden the pain. They curl up in a ball of protection trying to hide from the demands of everyday life. But with God's help everything changes.

Romans 12: 2, "Do not conform yourselves to the standards of this world, but let 'God transform you inwardly by a complete change of your mind'. Then you will be able to know the will of God-what is good and pleasing to him and is perfect."

Depression is a selfish act. To give into the darkness of hopelessness is to give up on God. To allow a demon to influence your life and make you give up is to lose your game of life and to give victory to evil. When depression makes you its slave you are defeated by simple problems, like a child potting in his pants, a bill that you forgot to pay or a son who didn't show up to take his elderly father out because his job called him away suddenly. Depression is a prison that allows a person to feel sorry for themselves.

2 Corinthians 10: 4&5, "The weapons we use in our fight are not the world's weapons, which we use to destroy strongholds. We destroy false arguments; we pull down every proud obstacle that is raised against the knowledge of God; we take every 'thought captive and make it obey Christ'.

Depression gives us permission to feel bad. It robs you of your joy and sentences you to a prison of helplessness and fear. God tells us to fight against it and make our minds think according to the knowledge of God. Whenever we are fearful we must sing praises. Whenever we are feeling alone or abandoned we must read our Bibles and apply the light to our lives. Whenever we face difficulties with children we must pray and believe that God will give us the strength to win the battle with unconditional love one moment at a time.

Philippians 4: 8, "In conclusion, my brothers, fill your minds with those things that are good and that deserve praise: things that are true, noble, right, pure, lovely, and honorable. Put into practice what you learned and received from me, both from my words and from my actions. And the God who gives us peace will be with you."

L. Ron Hubbard’s Dianetics Comes to Life in Four and a Half Hours on Film

Revolutionary Dianetics self-help procedure provides answers to stress, anxiety, depression and psychosomatic illness and is now extensively illustrated on film.

A stunning new film How to Use Dianetics complements the book, Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health and visually depicts discoveries proclaimed to be “as revolutionary for humanity as the first caveman’s discovery and utilization of fire.”  Dianetics has been a bestseller for more than 50 years, with over 21 million copies sold, earning acclaim as the most influential book ever written on the mind.

Millions across the U.S.A. and the world suffer from psychosomatic illness, depression, stress, instability, self-doubt and a lack of self-confidence.  On the other hand there are millions who have overcome such issues by using techniques from L. Ron Hubbards best selling Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health-now brought to life in four and a half hours of film illustrating the full theory and practice of the revolutionary Dianetics self-help procedure.

Dianetics is defined as “what the soul is doing to the body through the mind” and the subject uncovers the single source of psychosomatic ills, depression, stress, self-doubt and instability in one’s life, and provides workable science of the mind. Dianetics provides more than just a “mere explanation” of the things, which ruin lives. It introduces simple techniques to handle the single source of one’s fears, anxieties and stresses and for the first time can now be explained visually through these new films.

Hubbard Dianetics Foundations across the United States and the world are offering Dianetics Seminars teaching the theory and practice of Dianetics technique, which can be learned in just one weekend with the arrival of the new How to Use Dianetics films.

The book is now available in 50 languages and the DVD in 16, which means people from all ethnic backgrounds can use the techniques and get to the root cause of what has been ruining their lives - stress, depression and psychosomatic ills to name a few.

Authored by L. Ron Hubbard in 1950, Dianetics has been on a total of one-hundred-and-sixteen bestseller lists for one-thousand-and-sixty two weeks. Mr. Hubbard is also three-time Guinness Book of World Records holder of the most published works by a single author, most audio book titles on Earth and most translated author.
