Friend has social anxiety and doesn't want to do anything?

One of my good friends has social anxiety. She never wants to do anything and it sort of upsets me. I had SA in the past, but I got much better with it because I was forced to get out of my house. I tried to go different places with my friends and it improved my greatly. I hardly have it anymore. However, my friend makes no effort. Everytime I ask her to do something with me or with other friends she just says 'no, I'm tired' or 'no, I'm not allowed.' She won't see the doctor about this, she won't talk to her family, she won't join support groups and she won't even look for imformation online about it. It's getting really annoying because I feel like I'm missing out on a lot of things because she doesn't want to do them. She only wants to hang out at her house. Should I mention this to her? I don't want to hurt her feelings, but she needs to do something about it before she's too used to staying inside her house all day. She's 18 and going to college next year.

Be open and honest with her in a gentle, loving way. That is being a good friend. You can't change her. All you can do is change yourself - which may mean you may need to find another friend if you want to go out. But you can still be her friend.
