I feel terrible on me since my daughter was born five months ago. I never thought of hurting her, so I am not a danger to her. However, I go through phases where I'm super-happy, and phases where I'm unhappy and I feel that I am fat, stupid, and a terrible mother. During my "bad" days, I have a large number of typical symptoms of postpartum depression, but I feel my day. Is it postpartum depression or something else?
Tell your doctor immediately. There are things you can do to help you, naturally until your doctor can decide whether medication is right for you or not. Take a walk outside every day. Get your little daughter in a stroller in and out, no matter how you feel. Make sure you eat healthy foods. Stay away from orange juice when your mood is bad, avoiding caffeine, fatty foods and refined sugar. Eat high fiber high protein foods. Stretch every morning when you wake, have happy thoughts. These things will help you get back on track. Unfortunately I needed Prozac for a year too, but you do what you take to get you back to normal. Good luck. (HUG)
