can anyone tell me if they take lithium carbonate for mood disorder or depression and anxiety?

If so can you tell me your experience on them please. I've been taking anti depressants and medicine for anxiety and my doctor ( well physician's assistant) wants me to try lithium but the side effects seem horrifying like most pills, but i'm really weary cause i tried seroquel and when i woke up the next morning i felt like i was hung over i didn't like the feeling. I'm taking wellbutrin and trazodone but i don't think it's helping cause i am still moody. I guess it's trial and error, but i just really need advice on the medicine, and yes i do know it's different for everyone so i keep that in consideration

I take 900mg of lithium carbonate everyday at bedtime. Overall I have not had too many problems. My exact diagnosis changes from doctor to doctor over the last ten years, but I do have manic depression symptoms although I refuse to acknowledge that I may be bipolar..;schizoaffective more likely, but back to the story. 3 years ago I made 3 suicide attempts in less than 6 months and my doctor read some study that showed people who are on lithium are less likely to attempt suicide, so she coerced me into taking in on top of topamax and lamictal which I also take. I was on it for a while and I had a pretty bad manic episode so my dose of lithium was bumped up to 1200mg per day. That was all well and good until my level pushed its way up to 1.8 which is considered a toxic dose. I got really tired all the times and I had zero motivation to do anything, but that is also a symptom of schizoaffective so I don"t know. I didn't get any other symptoms other than fatigue. I didn't gain weight, I am not having kidney problems, no metalic taste, no vomiting. I went back down to 900mg. Since then I have had an episode of regular depression and an episode of agitated depression which is a dangerous state of mind to be in. So basically I have ups, downs, and mixed episodes when I am taking lithium and two other mood stabilizers, wellbutrin, and risperdal for the voices and what not. I can't really see that this medication I am taking does any good whatsoever, but if I don't take it the State will revoke my driver's license so I can't do anything about it.
