Keeping a Basal Temperature Chart - Free Fertility Test

Keeping a basal temperature chart can be a very informative. It is straight forward, can be done in the privacy of your home and it costs almost nothing. It is quite bizarre that the 'pen and paper' humble temperature chart can often tell you much than the expensive laboratory tests carried out by clinics. The reason is that you can measure your cycle for several months and figure out whether it changes, for example, when you eat different foods or whether you are stressed at work. You will be able to tell whether your hormones are working normally and the best time to make love. Before you start you will need to download a chart and instructions which can be found (at no cost) on my website. Next you will need to purchase a thermometer which needs to be both accurate and easy to read.

If your chart is abnormal you may be able to correct it yourself. You might find that your temperature is not high enough after ovulation or perhaps that ovulation is delayed. On my website I have a link where you can purchase a very inexpensive e-book that gives examples of normal and abnormal charts and how to correct them.

One example of a possible problem is that you might have low thyroid function, which is a common cause of infertility. You might be able to correct this by diet, by avoiding too much exposure to chlorine or you might need to seek help from a specialist. Despite being quite common, thyroid disease can often remain undiagnosed for many years and can be a cause of depression, general poor health and reproductive problems. Clinicians other than Endocrinologists seem to forget about he possibility of thyroid problems despite its prevalence and importance.

There are some important rules for taking your daily basal temperature if you want to get good results. The first rule is that you must take your temperature first thing in the morning before you get up. That means having the thermometer by your bed together with pen and paper so that you can write down the result. The second rule is that you should try to take your temperature at the same time every day. This is important because your temperature will change quite a bit throughout the day. If you take it at a different time, write it down on your chart so that if the result is odd, you will have an explanation. Also make a note of any days when you aren't feeling well because even allergies can change your temperature slightly.

I suggest that you take your temperature for a few months and try to correct any problems. When your chart looks good, it's time to stop recording your temperature. In my experience working with couples, constant focus on the temperature can become a contraceptive! It's easiest to get pregnant when you are relaxed so once you know that your body is cycling normally, it's time to let love and nature take their course.

What should I do about this? Depression?

I have been feeling sad for several months at least. My appetite has decreased. I am tired all the time. I often sleep too much or too little. I can't seem to get happy over anything. I am having thoughts about hurting myself a lot that I can't seem to shake. I have not been to a doctor since I was a baby. I have no insurance and no job. All the online test I have taken say I am majorly depressed. I am tired of it all. I have no one I can talk to about this. If nothing happens, I am going o college in the fall. They have a free service there, but I am not sure I can live with this any longer. I can't talk to family about this. They are part of the problem. I also have no friends I can trust. Help anyone?????????????

Well as redundant as it may sound to you, I think you need to go see a doctor.. It may be a chemical imbalance, depression is a bad thing and often times, in severe cases, you will require some assistance.
