Is there any antidepressant available in the market which is free from severe side effects?
I have been under psychiatric drugs for the past 3 years. Now I am about to quit taking them altogether(I am on a very low dosage presently) as I feel that I don't need them anymore. My experience with these drugs has been very bad indeed. A medication which was supposed to control depression actually caused me severe anxiety and extreme restlessness which made it hard for me to sit down and study for long periods(I am in college). Another caused acute muscle and nerve pain. My doctor forced me to continue them inspite of these problems. BTW, I have got better through yoga, counseling and running on my treadmill and not by these drugs. So my question is do all antidepressants have these severe side effects in case I feel I need them later in life? Or is it best to avoid them and get alternative treatment like yoga and running?
It depends how bad your depression is, is it mild or extreme? I wouldn't recommend any prescriptionn drug on the market it just makes you worse as you allready know. Do things that make you happy, I know this sometimes doesn't help either, id go with yoga and running i find excercise heplps 'burn off' depression, well it takes your mind off it! Avoid drugs, you dont know whats in them really and some side affects can be terrible. Natural all the way, and it helps to talk or write things down exactly when you feel depressed and what causes it, it could be something minor that can be fixed.. I dont know if that even helped but stay cool dude
