don';t have a girlfriend adn im almost 19. I have never even been out with a girl alone yet. I have never kisssed or held hands with a girl and these are all things that i want to do. im not in it for the sex... i just want to be liked. I have liked girls before and have done nothing about it... now the girl who i like has a boyfriend and they are close. they have been going out for 10 months. im pretty shy and cannot seem to get the courage to ask a girl i like out b.c i dont wanna be rejected. any advice
I felt the exact same way a few years ago but then I learned that every gets rejected, if the best ones. In fact, after I got rejected for the first time, I felt a lot better because I got it out of the way and I suddenly had more confidence. I would suggest to be yourself when approach a girl and have confidence in yourself, the best girls like a guy like that.

I'm depressed or at least I think I am. I always feel empty and want to cry for no reason, when I don't feel like crying I feel like screaming at people. None of things I enjoy doing are fun any more and all I want to do is be alone and listen to music. I keep waking up very early in the morning and have bad headaches all through the day, I can't concentrate on anything. I try looking forward and telling myself it'll get better. I know I should tell someone but I don't know who. I don't think my parents will sympathize as they will think I'm making excuses to not study for my upcoming exams, I don't feel comfortable with any other adults and I feel that my friends won't be able to do anything to help. If there's no one I feel I can talk to, then what should I do?
The symptoms you are describing are those of major depression. If this has been going on for more than a few weeks, it is time to seek treatment (the best treatment for depression is a combination of psychotherapy and medication). If your parents are truly unwilling to help, then it will be important for you to begin the treatment process by seeing a guidance counselor at school (if you're in high school) or a therapist at your college counseling center (if you're in college). Don't allow this trend to continue. The longer you let it go, the more difficult it will be to get started with treatment. You CAN get your life back, but you're going to have to fight for it.
