So, what are the causes of anxiety attacks? Well, there's no definite answer for everyone. The causes vary from person to person and it depends on the situation. So, what I'm going to do is share with you the causes of anxiety attacks. That way, if you have an attack, you will know exactly what to do.
The causes of anxiety attacks are:
1. Phobias. A person, if exposed to something that they're afraid of, will naturally have an anxiety attack. An example would be if you're scared of public speaking.
2. Hyperventilation syndrome. This is another cause of anxiety attacks. Hyperventilation syndrome is triggered when you breath through your mouth. When you do this for a very long time, your heart rate increases, which triggers lightheadedness. And eventually it will trigger an anxiety attack.
3. Medications. Using antidepressants excessively, you could be triggering an anxiety attack. Taking too many antidepressant pills has side effects. And that side effect is an anxiety attack. Try not to take a lot of antidepressant drugs.
4. Heredity. If one of your family members has a history of anxiety attacks or panic attacks, there's a chance that you will have this disorder as well.
5. Short term causes. When something dramatic happens in your life, such as someone close to you dying, it could trigger an anxiety attack. If you're having emotional problems, make sure you don't intake too much caffeine. It could cause you to have an anxiety attack.
6. Environment. Another cause of anxiety attacks is due to the environment. It could be from the humid or hot atmosphere. Or it could be from you being around too many people. Some people can't handle being around a lot of people for long period of time.
These are some causes of anxiety attacks. If you have these signs, you need to do something about it. Waiting to stop your anxiety attack could be fatal.

What causes an anxiety attack?
I had an anxiety attack last week, and my symptoms were heart beating faster, shaking and loss of breath, i laid down and controlled my breathing and in 10 min it past, what goes on in the body to trigger it?
I had a couple of these. A lot of stress just built up all at once as I was freaking out over something and then bam it hits. Had all those symptoms you have, except mine lasted longer and my body temp went down to 94 degrees. I had some more too, but I definitely think a build up of stress causes them.
