Hypnotism is not about altering circumstances, but about altering how your mind perceives and understands the circumstances. How well you can accept what is going on around you and how well your mind adapts to this new knowledge will determine how your anxiety is transformed into calm feelings.

has anyone had any experience with hypnosis to help deal with anxiety or depression?
I suffer from generalised anxiety disorder and depression. I have been on medication for years and would really like to get off the medication and find deal with it another way. I have been considering hynotic therapy but it is expensive. So I really want to know how affective it is.
My doctor is helping me wean myself off the meds- just thought I would add.
Hypnosis can help your mind get more relaxed so that you can better deal with your depression and anxiety and overcome other obstacles in life.
You can either do it yourself (self-hypnosis) but If you have not tried it before I would visit a professional first.
I havent used it for depression or anxiety but it has had an effect on other areas of my life that I wanted to improve.
