Dogs do behave badly when they are going through separation anxiety. Some of this misbehavior can be damaging and risky to the dog or even the public around them.

Behavior problem connected to separation anxiety includes, undue barking, chewing, damaging property, scratching, unacceptable urination, defecation, and other self damaging conduct.

These misconduct often comes up in the absent of the owner for extended period. For the health and the safety of the Dogs, they need to be trained to deal with long period of separation.

Here are some things that you can do to reduce your Dog Separation Anxiety:

1. Having a preparation and scheduled separation with the dog. This will increasingly adjust the dog to get used to being on its own and separated with the owner.

2. When parting with the dog, keep it monotonous and simple, like a simple bye will do it. Do not and exaggerate your farewell as this will raised the separation anxiety in the dog. They are social animal and they can feel your unwillingness to leave them.

3. Leave your dog with plenty things to be busy with, like chewing toys, balls, treats, etc.

4. Have a planned play time; this is the time where you can offer your dog your complete attention. This is helpful to relieve boredom and anxiety in your dog.

5. Giving your dog with plenty of exercise will be a good way to relieve separation anxiety as the exercise will provide him with a good rest when you are absent from him.

6. If your dog is still a puppy, it is crucial to get him familiar to being alone, this can be done by crate training.

7. In more complicated case, it is necessary for the owner to take no notice of the dog for an extended period of time. This will diminish the dependency of the dog to its owner.

8. Prescription although not recommended, sometimes can be used to help reduce the anxiety in the dog.

9. Naturally the last and most effective approach to help your dog overcome separation anxiety that is harmful and very destructive is by training him the correct way. Do not just believe the claim being made by dog trainer, if you love your dog, you should find out more on the correct method of dog training yourself. This will give you a more satisfactory relationship with your dog.

There you now have the 9 methods to help you ease your dog separation anxiety. This is very important as your dog can cause a lot of harm to himself or to the people around him with his destructive and damaging behavior.

Remember that your dog well being and the people you love are at risk and should you think that you are not able to cope with your dog behavior problem, consult with the professional. It is better to do it as early as possible before you face unnecessary heartache or even unwanted lawsuit because of your dog behavior problems.

How to curb my dog's separation anxiety?

I recently adopted a 2 year old male german shepherd. He barks everytime I leave for work, and would even attempt to hold me back by biting on my hand. Is there a method to help him stop this behavior?

Whenever I leave my dog I usually crate him, putting his food and water as well as one of his favorite toys and a blanket in his cage and turn on the radio and he's usually pretty good. When I dont crate him I usually use homeopet anxiety drops on him. It works well. you should give em a try. Im a vet tech and we always recommend them the owners always come back thanking us for the recommendation seeing as their pets are alot less stressed when having to be left alone and such.

Preschool Separation Anxiety Quotes:

Some patients I see are actually draining into their bodies the diseased thoughts of their minds. By Zacharty Bercovitz Find out about Preschool Separation Anxiety

The Day Care Benefit

You've heard all the nasty rumors about day care. Too many kids and too few caregivers. Lots of sneezing and wheezing. That little guy who's always grabbing your child's toy. Everyone's got a story. But you have to get back to work and you have no choice. What's a good parent to do?

Let's concentrate on the positive. There are plenty of benefits to sending your child to day care. If you consider some of these benefits, it will help you come to terms with your own decision, whether you have a choice or not. Once you understand, you'll feel you're helping your child grow into a well rounded, happy child instead of feeling guilty about sticking him in day care.

Babies need interaction with other children. It's never too early to start engaging your son in activities with other children, whether his own age, toddlers or older children. Learning to interact with other kids prepares your son for his first real school experience. Day care is a gentler environment, there are less rules and more flexibility than strict teachers may impose in school.

Children benefit from day care by learning self-control, how to get along with others, and how to share. They begin to learn all about friendship. Without day care, your daughter only knows you; you are her whole world. How scary would it be to get into school at age four or five and find out that Mom isn't there with her? Children benefit from day care by expanding their world to include people other than their parents.

Separation anxiety will be lessened (or not an issue at all) when your child enters school if she's been in day care. She's already used to being away from you for some time during the day. She's learned how to make new friends and can be content without your undivided attention. The transition from home to school is far less difficult for those who've experienced day care.

In addition to learning socialization skills, your son may also have the opportunity to learn some of the basics such as the alphabet and numbers, and he's always increasing his vocabulary. This pre-preschool learning environment gives your child an understanding of what will be expected of him once he enters kindergarten. He learns to sit and listen, and is able to accept the information that will be thrust upon him in school. He learns the value of teamwork and to respect the opinions and emotions of others. Entering school for the first time is challenging for all children, but those who have been in day care benefit by already having exposure to a classroom-like environment.

Once your daughter enters school, day care can help with homework. Some day care facilities even offer after-school extracurricular activities like scout meetings, dance class, martial arts and on-site gymnastics instruction. Once she is in school her horizons begin to broaden.

As you can see, there are many benefits to placing your child in a licensed, qualified day care situation. And remember that even though your child is away from you for a portion of his day, it is really the parents that make the most difference in his life.

When he gets home from day care after spending a long day away from you, he will be bursting to tell you all about his day. Ask him questions about his friends, his teachers, his subjects. He will share his day with you no matter what his age is, and getting him to vividly describe his day is exciting to a child especially if you show interest. Of course you're interested, aren't you? After all, this child, a mini version of yourself, is taking on the world one day at a time, and the choices and desires he has will be a direct reflection of you. Make the most of that opportunity while you can - children are only children once.

Separation anxiety..? Daycare?

I'll be going back to work the first of May (my little guy will be 11 months). He's a bit of a "Momma's boy" (Daddy's boy too I guess). He's only been around a couple other little babies and is generally fine with strangers as long as he's in either my arms or his Daddy's arms. If he's not in our arms and someone comes up to him quickly, he cries. Sometimes he cries when I leave the room too. I guess I'm just looking for some stories from Moms who have gone back to work and had to leave their little one in daycare. Did your little one cry when you left him? If so, for how long? Are there any ways to help him get over it, or to help prepare him for it now? Thanks Moms!

**EDIT - Yahoo Answers wanted to put this in "Toddler and Preschool"... please tell me my little man is not a toddler yet!! haha He's still my little baby!

lol my little girl is a walking kinda talking 14month old...when shes 5 shell still be my baby!:))) haha

i started my little one in daycare at 9 months and she was fine. by 11 months she was pretty much waving me off while i was standing there like a wreck haha. as shes gotten older she will somedays cling to my legs, cry etc etc but i go in earlier the following day and spend some time with her and then when shes got her bearings i leave. ask your daycare provider if you can do this, it will make you both feel better you and your boy:)

he may cry and scream and want his mom but in my experience as soon the door closes behind me my daughter is fine laughing and playing lol ohi feel so wanted ....haha

Choosing a Pet? Things to Consider Before Choosing a Pet

Consider whether you have time for a pet. They look to you for their food, water, veterinary treatments and love. If your children cannot or will not care for the pet, do you have time to do it. Did you know that in over half of households the female spouse or family member ends up taking care of the family dog or pet.

Now this is pretty much common sense but you should think about whether you are allowed to have a pet where you currently reside. Check the regulations if your are a tenant. If pets are allowed are you prepared for the extra amount of deposit money that will be required. Are you prepared for the carpet cleaning necessary when you move? These an other questions should be considered if you are a renter.

How many years are you willing to commit to this new pet? A pet can be a lifelong commitment depending on how old you are when you choose a puppy or other young pet. Personally I had a Dachshund that was with us for 17 years. Cats can live from 10 to 20 years subject to certain medical issues. Other pets like horses, turtles, parrots and other types of birds can live quite a bit longer even 30 to 40 years.

None of us have a crystal ball so we do not really know when we will get married, get divorced, relocate sometimes to another country, have children or maybe have grandma move in with us, you know, the one that hates animals. Do your best to look into the future to where a pet will fit in. Once adopted your pet becomes part of the family or to him, the pack. Later separation is hard on everyone.

If you should decide to choose a puppy or any type of young pet please know that younger animals require a lot more time to learn the ropes than adult dogs do. Plus, younger animals, especially dogs, do not appreciate being left alone. This is one way separation anxiety develops.

Younger animals need to be taught how to behave in the family or the pack. This cannot completely be done if the house is empty all day. Just as with children, traits developed at the younger ages are traits that stay with them most if not all of their lives. Proper training and interaction at the younger age will pay great dividends immediately and in later years.

Believe it or not there are many more considerations when choosing a pet. Those I will touch on in a different article. For now let me leave you by strongly suggesting that you make the decision about choosing a new pet a family decision.

My dog is extremely protective and she has separation anxiety! What do i do?

I'm 19 years old, and I have had my 2 year old Dachshund/Jack Russell Terrier/Pit Bull Mix for almost a year now. My dog, Lilly, means so much to me, and I do NOT want to have to put here to sleep for the first reason. She has become very protective of me except when she is around my mom, boyfriend, and my 2 sisters. She, also, won't stop crying, whimpering, and barking every time I leave my house even if it is only for a couple minutes. How do I correct this behavior? Please help, it would be greatly appreciated.

I would respectfully suggest you read a couple of books and watch some videos on raising and training dogs. Also, I recommend two TV shows, "The Dog Whisperer" with Cesar Millan on the National Geographic Channel, and "It's Me or the Dog," with Victoria Stillwell, on Animal Planet. Both programs are very instructive and often deal with the issues you raise here. Good luck!

Separation Anxiety Medication Quotes:

You can't wring your hands and roll up your sleeves at the same time. By Pat Schroeder Find out about Separation Anxiety Medication

Separation Anxiety Disorder goes beyond the Norm

Almost every child ever born suffers from a touch of separation anxiety at some point in the toddler years. Somewhere between the ages of about 18 months and three years, a child will have an incredibly difficult time when a parent is out of sight. Crying, temper tantrums and overall agitation and angst are not uncommon. When these symptoms do not go away with appropriate distractions or they persist later in life, separation anxiety disorder might be present.

Separation disorder is said to affect about 4% of children from the ages of four up. When a child suffers from severe angst and fears about leaving home or being away from parents or other family, red flags are generally raised. It is important to keep in mind that actual separation anxiety disorder does go well beyond normal homesickness or fears, however.

Some of the more common behaviors in children with this specific disorder include:

- Use of avoidance tactics to not separate themselves from parents or loved ones. They will try everything they can think of to not have to go somewhere by themselves.

- Extreme defiance about going to school, day care or other places where they will be separated from their caregivers.

- Following behaviors. Children that incessantly follow their parents or other family members around might have issues with separation anxiety disorder.

- Fear of sleeping alone. While this can be a normal phase in childhood, children with separation anxiety disorder tend to take this to a new level. They will sometimes flatly refuse to sleep alone and will repeatedly turn up in their parents' room at night.

- Nightmares. Children with this problem quite often have nightmares about being parted from friends or family.

Children with bona fide separation disorder quite often benefit from professional guidance and medical support. The condition is one that can be conquered, but it will take some effort on the family's part, as well as the child's.

One of the biggest problems that children with separation anxiety disorder face is the fact the more serious form is often brushed off as a normal "phase." While each of the symptomatic scenarios are normal to an extent, when a child takes them beyond the norm or they persist too long, help is generally advised. The unfortunate thing about the disorder is that children are often unwittingly depriving themselves of normal, enjoyable childhood activities due to their overwhelming fears of separation.

When its symptoms appear, however, it is wise for parents to pay attention and react accordingly. Professionals can help children overcome their fears and learn to experience life more independently.

Separation Anxiety In Toddlers
Separation Anxiety In Toddlers Information

1-year old separation anxiety?

My guy used to sleep 11 hours a night, no problem. Then, he turned 1. All of a sudden, he is waking up at 5:00 am, no matter what time he goes to bed, and NOTHING will soothe him except mommy. And Mommy is a woose. Tried crying it out, I can't take it so always go in for him. However, I feel that I'm perpetuating the problem. I'm so tired! What's weird is that he is fine during the day, for the most part, it's just at night that we're having problems. But I also know that there are people out there that have it worse than me. I don't know. This is the lack of sleep talking, I guess. Is this really separation anxiety? Any other ideas out there other than crying it out in the middle of the night (95% of the time there is NO problem going to sleep - although naptime is another story). Am I just a parent with a toddler? This is my first and sleep deprivation I'm sure makes it seem worse. OK. Rambling over. I'll take any form of encouragement or ideas. THANKS!

You have a totally normal 1 year old according to me. My son would ALWAYS wake up in the middle of the night. I think he just was scared he was alone and wanted comfort. I would pick him up and give him a bottle and rock him to sleep and he would usually calm down and drift back to sleep and be fine the rest of the night. The good news is he will grow out of it! WOOHOO! Not sure when though. My son is almost 2 now and takes a nap and goes to bed with no fights. We have him on a very good schedule. Took forever to get the schedule just right. Trust me, I LOVE sleep and I feel ya being sleep deprived. Toddlers are tough. It won't last forever. Also, my son HATED his tiny crib. We bought him a big boy bed (not a toddler bed) and the side guards and that helped a LOT. Try to figure out why he wakes. My son also had night terrors for a while. Those too have since stopped. I hope any of this helped. Good luck!

Separation Anxiety In Babies Quotes:

If worrying were an Olympic sport you'd get the gold for sure. By Stephenie Geist Find out about Separation Anxiety In Babies

Kids And Separation Anxiety

Day care issues of facility policy, additional charges and late fees, and visitation rules are important issues but none seem as pertinent as the problem of separation anxiety. Few parents enjoy leaving their child with a stranger for hours at a time, and though there are benefits to child care it is hardly on your mind when faced with a child having a temper tantrum as you are trying to leave the daycare facility to head to work. So how can you ease this often temporary situation The solution lies within yourself to come up with creative and personalized ways to ease your child through one of the most difficult day care issues separation anxiety.

Not all children have day care issues such as separation anxiety. Some babies and children enjoy being around other children in a new environment, and take to daycare right away. Those parents are the lucky ones. But if you are experiencing any of the following situations at drop off time, there are changes you can make to get through this time of transition (because it will pass). Don't mistake separation anxiety for misbehaving. Understanding your child's fears is the first step.

Your child knows you as the source of comfort in his life and even the smallest of children will experience fear when seeing their mommy leave their surroundings and go away. What you say and how you say it can be understood by your child. If you have a baby you are nursing, try to schedule time to nurse your baby right before you leave. Holding and comforting your baby this way is a great way to make a connection, and talking to your baby helps to relax him. If you are feeling anxious about leaving your baby, he will most definitely sense this. If you have done your homework, and are confident in the environment in which you are leaving him, let this come through in your voice. Your tone of voice will reassure him you'll be back soon and that you love him.

Your toddler invariably starts his tantrum early, before you even leave the house for the daycare center. Day care issues can impact the home environment as well but there are ways to get around this too. Start by being consistent. You have made up your mind to put your child in daycare, stick to the routine. Don't look for ways to skip days; it won't get your child through this transition period any smoother. Before bedtime, read storybooks that talk about daycare. Go to the library; the librarian can help you choose books geared to your child's age. At the very least, talk to your child during story time; explain to him where you will be going and that you will be back for him when you are done working.

Day care issues such as separation anxiety can last for up to two weeks or longer depending on your child. If you feel he is he exhibiting more serious reactions at drop off time than previously or if he seems to be more upset or generally not your happy child, maybe an unannounced visit to the facility is called for. If you drop in and look around, you can help yourself get a better picture of how your child's day is going. Maybe he is unhappy because the environment is unhealthy for him, and this is the only way he can tell you. Then it would be time to change day care facilities.

New mom with major separation anxiety can't have baby out of site, am I alone or is it normal?

I have a 3 week old daughter and I am having major separation anxiety issues, I can not stand to have her not in the same room as me. I was ok when she was first born but now it is getting worse. I am worried it will just keep getting worse and may even ruin my marriage.

No there isn't anything wrong with it you might just be worried that if you leave the room something might happen to her and you won't be there to help her.
I was the same way and because of it my son survived when he would have other wise died.
I used to take him into the bathroom with me and leave him on the bathroom floor in his bouncer by the tub while I took a bath.
I did this so I could watch him instead of leaving him alone in a room by himself where anything can happen if I'm not there.
Well one time when he was 3 months old my husband said to leave him on the bed because he was already asleep and I went and took a short bath while my husband talked to me.
I felt like hurrying because I didn't want to be away from my son for too long so I bathed as quickly as I could.
After I dried off I went into the room to check on him and I didn't feel him breathing and his chest wasnt' moving up and down.
I picked him up and he was limp and I listened for signs of him breathing and didn't hear any so I did only what I could think of which was scream for him to wake up and I gently shook him but mostly screamed.
Well he did wake up and gasped for air then began to cry and after that he was with me non stop until he was three years old.
So there's nothing wrong with wanting to be with your baby all the time it's actually a good thing for both you and your baby.
But just remember that when she grows up and wants to be independant you'll need to step back and let her.
And your marriage will be ok too,if you have a mother or if your husband has a mom maybe one of them can watch your baby while the two of you spend quality time together.
Good luck and best of wishes for you and your new baby.

Panic And Anxiety Attack Medication Quotes:

Anxiety is a thin stream of fear trickling through the mind. If encouraged it cuts a channel into which all other thoughts are drained. By Arthur Somers Roche Find out about Panic And Anxiety Attack Medication

Understanding the Basics of Anxiety Attack Medications

If you are suffering from panic disorder or anxiety disorder, the few questions you would ask yourself are "Are there any anxiety attack medications?" "Are these medications effective?" "What are the side effects of these medications?" Most of these questions will be answered by the doctor or therapist. Pharmaceutical companies with their aggressive marketing and advertising have been successful in totally confusing the general public on anxiety attack medications. With all the hype, you will surely get lost and opt for over-the-counter anxiety attack medications and go in for something that is not at all effective.

While you are out for taking a panic attack treatment, make sure you end up your search with a good doctor or therapist. It is only the doctor who would properly look at each and every aspect, analyze the situation and advice you the right cure. Once the treatment is started, its your responsibility to carry it forward properly. Doctor is just a guide and a mere help. He can only prescribe the medication, making its full use it up to you.

A particular class of medicine that is popular among doctors is Tricyclic Antidepressants. They are very effective in treating panic disorders. They also have some side effects. They are as follow.

* You may experience inability to defecate or even have constipation problems
* You may have difficulty in urinating
* You may experience blurred vision
* You may have problems while engaging in any form of sexual activities, including sexual intercourse
* If you are a male, then you may experience erectile dysfunction
* You may have over-sensitivity when exposed to sunlight
* You may have excessive sweating

Other common side effects of taking Tricyclic Antidepressants are irritability, jitteriness, possible weight gain, unusual sleeping habits, and hyperactivity. Most of the above mentioned symptoms of Tricyclic Antidepressants can be easily controlled by some mild medication. However, if the side effects are becoming unbearable and you are experiencing extreme pain, then it is best to let your doctor or therapist know about it.

Some of the common examples if tricyclic anti depressants are Nortriptyline, Desipramine, Doxepin, Imipramine, Amitriptyline, Venlafaxine, Clomipramine.

Another class of medications that is very effective in the treatment of panic disorder is Benzodiazepines. It is known fact that this class of medications has considerable effect on people suffering from generalized panic disorders. If you ask any doctor or medical professional about the success rate of this medication then the answer will be in the range of 70 to 80 percentages. This rate is very good considering the factors of age, lifestyle, and medical condition of the patients.

Benzodiazepines like the other anxiety attack medications, also has side effects which the patients need to bear. Common side effects of the Benzodiazepines medications are reduced and decreased mental toughness, inability to speak clearly, drowsiness, mood swings etc. In addition to these side effects, the patient may also get easily agitated with the little provocation. Due to these side effects, there is an urgent need to tell your family, friends, and office colleagues about the medication that you are on.

Sharing your problems with your family, friends, close relatives, and office colleagues will make you more comfortable when you are actually facing panic or anxiety attacks.

Some of the doctors might meet your near and dear once to let them know about the severity of the situation. At times the doctor would like all the relatives, friends, and office colleagues of the patient to assemble in a meeting and address to them as a whole. He would also inform them about the first aid that would be required in case of an emergency. This is a quality of a good doctor who would really like to see his patients in a healthy state.

Does anyone have a suggestion on what PRN (medication as needed) I can take for anxiety/panic attacks?

I have tried Klonipin, Abilify, Buspar, Lexapro, Neurotin, Zoloft, and the list goes on and on. Ideally I would like to take something that isn't addictive like Xanex.

they say Ativan is used PRN, I took it but didnt feel to much from it. I had good benefit from daily zoloft. However I gained 30 pounds on zoloft. Now I am on Prozac and after 3 months of taking it, I FINALLY feel better. Still working on losing the zoloft weight though.

I dont want to get addicted to xanax or valium so I have never taken them. My dr prescribed a beta blocker for panic attacks, it is called clonodine. I havent had to take it yet so I cant say how it works.

Coping With Anxiety Attack Quotes:

We experience moments absolutely free from worry. These brief respites are called panic. By Cullen Hightower Find out about Coping With Anxiety Attack

Quick Check - Are You Having Anxiety Attack symptoms? Find Out In Under A Minute

If you are reading this, there is no doubt you are looking for answers. You have probably been having spells where it has been hard to breathe and you have felt your heart racing. Maybe you have even been to your doctor or gone to the emergency room because you thought you were having a heart attack.

But these strange spells always leave on their own and the doctor cannot find anything physically wrong with you.

At some point you have to wonder. Could this be anxiety? What are the symptoms of an anxiety attack?

It starts simply enough, you are going about your day and for a few moments, you start to feel 'off' somehow. It is really a hard feeling to describe and it is different for everyone. Some people may not even notice it at all because it does not last long.

It is soon taken over by a change in temperature. Normally you start to feel hot, but some people become cold.

Your hands will start to tingle. And your heart will start racing.

You may start to feel nauseous about this time too.

For most people, the worst symptom comes last. The feeling that you cannot breathe. It almost feels like you cannot take in any air, and it can be nothing short of brutal.

Within minutes, you will have all of these symptoms going on at once and there is no telling when they are going to stop.

Unlike panic attacks, anxiety attacks can last up to a few hours or days.

All you want to do is tell someone, get some kind of help, but you are not able to speak, it's like you are a prisoner in your own body.

But if you are reading this, you already know that.

Anxiety Attacks, how to cope with them?

I had my first Anxiety Attack 3 weeks ago when I was in the hospital. I was really sick and I freaked out because I thought I had Meningitis, so i went to the hospital. Once I go there my heart started to race, my head became very light headed, my arms and legs feel asleep and the muscles in them locked up. The nurse told me that I had an anxiety attack, and it has happened to me multiple times after that incident.

Does anyone else suffer from anxiety attacks? How can I prevent them? How can I calm myself down during one of these episodes

Yes Anxiety Attacks leave you with this very un nerving feeling, your afraid to go out, afraid that you may have an attack in public.

Currently there are many ways of dealing with an anxiety disorder. Some may not work for you, others might. Knowing some of the more common coping techniques for dealing with anxiety panic attacks when they begin is very important if you are to control the attack, before it fully develops.

What you need to do is recognize when a panic attack is about to begin. When you have endured enough of them, you start to understand and pay attention to the early sensation, the shortness of breath, and the disconnection from the real life around you. Exercising control at this point can stop the attack in its infancy.

Learning too soon our limitations we never learn our powers. By Mignon McLaughlin The Neurotic's Notebook1960 Find out about Anxiety Attack Treatments

Anxiety Attack Treatment-The Things You Need To Know To Face Your fears

It is a feeling as old as mankind itself. That distinct feeling you get when you are suddenly confronted by fear: Fight or Flight! The problem is that some of us do neither. If you are one of these people, you might be suffering from panic attacks. Fortunately there are anxiety attack treatments available to help you handle these situation a bit better.

Anxiety attacks are brought on by high amounts of adrenaline. These attacks are commonly related to mental health and are basically nothing more that episodes of intense fear. They can have obvious triggers, for example being faced by a specific fear or they can happen out of the blue.

symptoms like shortness of breath, pounding heartbeat and excessive sweating are associated with panic attacks. People who suffer from a panic attack for the first time can easily confuse it with a heart attack, because of the similarity in symptoms and intensity.

Anxiety attack treatment is divided in two main types. Because the condition is related to mental health and excessive stress, therapy is used to help people face their fears and change their behavior. The second type of anxiety attack treatment is medication. Medication relieves stress and help fight depression; this helps the body to cope in stressful situations. In most cases these two types of treatment are used in conjunction.

Anxiety attack treatment will show drastic results in ten to twenty weeks. There are some home-treatments available which includes physical exercises as well as calming exercises. These treatments can be very effective in situations where the attacks are not severe. Living healthy and cutting out things like sugar and caffeine can also help you relax. In some cases hypnosis is used to help people face the triggers that cause the attacks.

We live in a fast-paced world where we face more stress and more fears every day. Worrying that you can have a panic attack at any time just makes it worst. The sooner you start an anxiety attack treatment, the sooner you will be able to face your fears and live your life to the fullest.

Treatment For Anxiety Attacks - Discover the Best Treatment For Anxiety Disorder

Let's say us you were analyzed and the result came out that you have anxiety attacks, usually a disorder sufferer is given a choice of various treatments. The remedies usually consist of anti-anxiety medication, anti-depressants and therapy. Taking these treatments have their respective advantages and disadvantages, and I have broken them down in pieces so you will know.

Anti-Depressants
Anti-depressants can also be referred as sedative drug. These days majority of anti-depressants medications are applied with a mixture of anti-anxiety. Anxiety attacks do not usually occur on its own; it is mainly the outcome of an inherent circumstance, and in majority of the circumstances is triggered by depression. Anxiety can also result to a crippling condition if it is left untreated, same goes to depression. This justifies the reason why majority of the doctors, first, handle the causes of the disorder instead of just its symptoms.

Anti-depressants nowadays consist of SSRI drugs. These involve Zoloft, Prozac and Paxil. They also have adverse effects which are sexual adverse effects, dryness of the mouth, sleepiness and reaction in the stomach. After you have taken the drugs, it will take sometime before it reaches your bloodstream. As for most persons, it usually takes about 2 weeks before you begin to look okay.

They also have adverse effects in the long run; this simply means that you should check your blood flow constantly to see that they don't get impaired to your kidneys or liver. As for most of the persons, ingesting the prescribed dose of these drugs will aid them to subdue the disorder. The downside of them is that it consumes a lot of time before getting inside your body and most persons just abandon them as they sense is not functioning well for them. The rest of others might believe that their depression has been treated and therefore quit taking the tablets. I don't recommend you to quit taking the drugs unless it is recommended and guided by a licensed medical practitioner.

Anti-anxiety drugs
Majority of the anti-anxiety drugs, nowadays, that are usually given are Klonopin and Xanax. They replace the less effective and more addictive anti-anxiety drugs of the former ones that consist of valium. They are harmless to take on a short-run basis and you should only take them at the time you are experiencing anxiety disorder. They will aid to cool the way you feel down and cause the anxiety to go away.

The disadvantages of taking anti-anxiety drugs is that they develop some forms of tolerance inside your system and it will result to some kind of steady withdrawal at the time you attempt to halt taking the drugs. If you feel the anxiety disorder is awful, just chill till you begin the withdrawal. Medical practitioners have their own method of aiding one to quit taking anxiety medications and it won't make you act as if you are stressing your mind. You are detached off the drugs with the aid of some drugs. When you begin to ingest anti-anxiety drugs, utilize them meagerly and don't form the habit of depending on them. When you begin to feel you are consuming more than the way it was prescribed, then there is every reason to talk to a medical practitioner concerning a withdrawal program.

Therapy
Therapy aids to reach the source of the attack Usually a person experiencing anxiety will frequently center their mind on stuffs that are unimportant, that isn't the proper treatment for an anxiety attack. Therapy is simply a huge method to get to the bottom of the problem. The thing is that everybody doesn't need the instant treatment nowadays, but one that will last long. Therapy can be helpful more than the other mentioned cure as a way to get rid of your disorder together with your depression.

You are more likely to be given an anti-anxiety drug when you have an anxiety attack. If it occurs once again, try to speak to your doctor concerning your intention to get an anti-depressant to remedy the condition, together with getting into a therapy program which will aid you in time to come, that is in the long-term. Anti-anxiety drug might work best for an immediate cure, but it is not the solution for a long run condition.

anxiety and panic attack help?

i had my first panic attack about 7 months ago and i thought it would eventually get better but it only got worse. im pretty sure that there is a root of my anxiety and that its not just psychological. my symptoms include this like weird feeling right above my jaw, into my ears almost like a metalic burning feeling its really odd. them my stomach feels like empty and i get this sharp pain in my back and chest. Also this wierd pressure in my head. Anyway these symptoms started before the initial panic attacks started and now im started to feel they are related...
also i seem to have some menstural cramps but am not anywhere near my period. im only 19 and i dont want to deal with this anymore, any advice?
please include any medication or treatment that worked best for you and why.

First piece of advice--SEE YOUR DOCTOR to make sure there is not something wrong medically.
On a personal note...I started having panic attacks around your age and I was sure I was gonna die! They are actually very common and seem to occur most often to those people who think they have everything in their life all under control--then WHAM! A panic attack occurs and you feel utterly helpless. The physical body can be in extreme disarray and pain due to stress or depression. Get plenty of exercise and practice deep breathing. When you feel a panic attack coming on, say to it, "go ahead--take your best shot and kill me if that's what you want!" You'd be surprised at how you feel when you relenquish that control, and for me--the attacks became much less frequent...of course Zoloft helped me too. There are lots of medications available for this condition, but most of them take time to work, so be patient. And best of luck...there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Smile!!!
